Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

The Family Tarot Deck - The High Priestess and Art From the Heart Affirmation Cards

Today’s draw is The High Priestess card, which is traditionally a representation of intuition, secrets, sacred knowledge, mystery, the subconscious mind.

The High Priestess card has then been combined with an affirmation from the Art From the Heart Affirmation Cards, which says, “I am beautiful. I am worthy. I am enough. Always remember that who you are as a gift. There has never been anyone quite like you. Recognize your words, start embracing who you are, and love yourself.”

One of the key elements in my spiritual practice is self discovery and self betterment. Sometimes, that means that I look at some pretty dark, hidden sides of myself and seek to understand them. This allows them to be seen, if only by me, and accepted (even if not allowed to run free.. you know, for the safety of myself and others).

Sometimes, getting to know these secret parts of myself comes with pain, discomfort, and disappointments. At these times, it’s important to not allow those parts to fool me into thinking they are the whole, and thus causing me to look at my entire self in the same light that I do those hidden pieces.

The message in today’s High Priestess card and affirmation is a reminder that we are all made up of parts. Some parts are hidden, and others are put on display. That doesn’t make some of them more valid or acceptable (to you) than the others. It just means the hidden parts are just for you. Give them attention too.

Cartomancy Reading with the Holy Shrump Sporelust! Playing Cards

A goal or dream I want to take a small step toward

Ten of Spades – Starting over. Essentially, that’s what I’m in the middle of doing. Rebuilding from the ground up with the pieces left over from the destruction of the past year.

It’s the small steps that I’m struggling with.

What soft intentional living looks like in my everyday life

Seven of Diamonds – Harmony and harvest. Having what I need when I need it instead of feeling the snapping teeth of scarcity (whether real or imagined) always at my heels.

What I want to make more room for in the season ahead

King of Diamonds – I want to make more time for the things that foster a sense of stability in myself, and through that in others as well. It is when I am feeling at my most stable and secure that those around me do too.I like providing that feeling of stability for myself and others both.

Tarot Reading from The Family Tarot Deck

Self-Compassion – How can I practice greater self-compassion?

King of Swords, Faith Rx (The Lovers Rx), The Moon

Take control and direct the narrative where it needs to go when things are feeling hopeless and uncertain.

Giving freedom to unhealthy habits during these times only leads to more uncertainty, creating a cycle that’s then more difficult to break than if you’d stayed on top of those inner narratives and unhealthy behaviors from the start.

Anticipating – What energy do I want to carry into September?

Eight of Cups Rx and Eight of Wands Rx

Slow down, stay, and savor. You want to fix things instead of running from them, even if the effort takes far longer than you’d normally be comfortable with.

Other elements included in this reading:
Foraged Parmeliaceae Lichen for a “Breath of Fresh Air”
Gneiss Stone for Patience in Moments of Discomfort
Selenite for Purification and drawing in Positive Energy
