Referral Pains

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Navigators Tarot of the Mystic Sea - Three of SwordsToday’s draw is the Three of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of depression, grief, and disappointments.

This theme often seems strange to people coming from the Swords suit, but it is important to remember that often how we react emotionally is rooted in how we think and what expectations we allowed ourselves to have before everything falls to shit.

Today’s message is a reminder to look closely at what really hurts. Sometimes the worst parts of a painful situation aren’t actually the wounds themselves, but how much we allow ourselves to blow everything out of proportion.

Bottom Three Cards – There are moments of insensitivity incoming in August that can make you into a raging dickhead if you’re not careful about it. Don’t be a dickhead.  Keep a tight reign on yourself to avoid these issues.

Question: What can be done to make Ms B’s move go more smoothly?

PIXAR Postcard Set and Navigators Tarot of the Mystic Sea - Nine of Wands, Six of Swords, Three of WandsReading Summary: The outlier in these cards is the nine of wands, which stands apart in color and always except beneath the feet of the figure and the egg in the three of wands. The speaks of leading down both barriers and boundaries for a time in order to get things done.

The figure in the six of swords connects with the grain and the soil in the cart above, it speaks of a need for patience. Hard work takes time. The more you rush, the less you’ll see and be able to catch before it becomes a permanent problem.

There is a heavy color connection between the six of swords, the three of wands, and the the anchor card. both of the Terra cards speak of movement and action being taken while the Theme in the anchor card is all about hard work and organization. Don’t let laziness or a desire to avoid conflict make things more difficult for yourself later on. Do it right the first time from the start.

Take Away: Take your time on the move and everything will go more smoothly all the way around.  There’s going to be a couple of setbacks along the way, but if you practice patience instead of trying to plow forward, it will sort itself out in the end.  Just don’t push.

Daily Self Kindness

I am playing some serious catch up and I have no idea what the self-kindness for this day might have been.

❤️ Self Care Saturday (On a Sunday)

These Saturday readings are (not usually) bearing in on any one thing or event in my life, as the question used is asking for a more general outlook. This is a self care exercise, and is not meant as a predictive reading… although that, too, happens on occasion.

The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?

Self Care Saturday Tarot Reading with the Fantasy Showcase Tarot and Permaculture Playing Cards

EarthTwo of Pentacles atop Two of Swords – Make sure you are making choices this week that keep things balanced and don’t “upset the apple cart”. You don’t have to avoid choices like last week, just be sure that when you do make choices, that they are grounded and encourage balance in your life.

AirThe Tower Rx atop Page of Wands – You don’t have to tear down the house to add a wrap around porch and a pool in the back, but you do have to take the time to study up and learn how to do the process right. Make sure you aren’t jumping the gun in plans this week, no matter how enthusiastic you feel about them as they come up. Do your research first.

WaterLady of Wands – Those things that you are passionate about help to make you feel happy and emotionally fulfilled. Make sure you indulge in them this week.

FireThe Sun – Things are going to start looking up with the business this week. Stay positive.

WaningTen of Spades and Two of Clubs – Put away the pessimism and dooms day thinking. You need to make sure you don’t sink back into that negative space.

WaxingTen of Diamonds and Four of Clubs – Comfort and abundance lies at home this week.

Take Away – Indulge in the things you enjoy and lean into choices that foster balance and a steady foundation for the future.  Don’t do anything rash, but instead make sure you are doing your due diligence on new projects instead of just jumping in without prior research.

📆 Transitioning from July to August

Month's End Check-In Tarot Reading with the Spirit Animal Tarot and Lisa Hunt's Fairy Tale Tarot (trimmed naked)

Here and Now I Exist – Who you are now, in your entirety.

Two of Wands and The River Walk – You are moving at a slow pace, but you have plans and you know what you want. Keep your head held high and stay watchful so that you don’t trip over any exposed roots or rocks along the way.

The Slough – What is to be left in the past as you move forward.

Eight of Pentacles and The Flying Chest – Wishful and fanciful thinking about the work getting done without actually putting in the work its not going to serve you. Plans aren’t enough, and wishes are not actions.

What Lies Ahead – An ideal state or ideal self you are seeking at this time.

The World and Midnight Garden – You wish to make your recent changes permanent so that your future is more pleasant and productive, filled with beautiful things, beautiful energies, and stability instead of uncertainty and darkness.

Limitations – Negative influences, opposition, or ill will.

Page of Swords and Puss In Boots – Remember that some of those that stand most strongly in your defense are not really on your side at all, but are being cunning and working towards their own motivations and goals… not yours.

The Boon – Positive influences, higher guidance, or divine intervention.

Queen of Pentacles and The Savior – Remember to appreciate those around you that love you, for they make sacrifices for you that you don’t even realize that they make in support of you and your need for stability.

The Wound – An unpleasant past experience or event that is ripe for some support and healing.

Queen of Cups and Pandora’s Box – Make sure you are seeking emotional support in the right places. You run the risk of getting hurt and setting loose destructive energies in your life when you seek out emotional support and validation in places you know it can’t come from.

Nostalgia – A positive past experience or event to acknowledge, reflect upon, and enjoy.

Knight of Pentacles and The Insincere Courtship – Remember the other day when you had a reading the spoke about looked to the past to see people’s true nature? This is an echo of that, and speaks specifically of Gideon and how over the years he has shown his (nearly obsessive) dedication to you.

A Warning – Something coming that can be prevented or overcome.

Knight of Swords and An Idle Moment – Don’t let impulsiveness sneak up on you just because you’re feeling bored or uninspired. Action just for action’s sake won’t earn you progress, just wasted energy.

Empowerment – A future opportunity to work toward.

Nine of Pentacles and The Naked King – Don’t be so stubborn that you ignore your accomplishments and set yourself apart from others. Instead you have the opportunity to connect with others and increase your feelings of socially based security if you allow yourself to be open with them.

Message from the Spirit World – Moving too fast is not necessarily a good thing. Make sure you slow down and pay attention so that you don’t end up making an ass out of yourself.

Message from the Mind’s World – You’re going to need to start doing a little weeding when it comes to your surroundings. It’s hard work, but you need to lighten your load. Don’t disregard plans that you’ve made when making the cut. It’s okay if it’s crowded when you’re finished as long as it’s crowded with those things that you cherish.

Message from the Physical World – More self-care is needed. You’ve only barely touched the tip of the iceberg in this area, and are still learning to look at yourself in a more positive light. Don’t let slow progress create a negative atmosphere where your self-care becomes lacking and your personal needs are not being met.

Card Study – 🌎The World🌍

Class Hosted by Chicotine

Card Meanings :
Completion and moving on to something new. Transition. Accomplishment. The end of a cycle in life, and the pause in life that happens before the next big cycle then begins.

The World - Blue Deviant Tarot, Pagan Otherworlds Tarot, Nomad Soul Warrior Tarot

• What is your gut-reaction when drawing this card? What does this card personally mean to you?

My gut reaction to the World is very similar to the Ten of Swords. That is to say “oh thank god”, because it means I’ve completed something. Whatever is going on is at an end.

• Which other card do you think pairs well with this card the best?

The Sun – There’s nothing like a Glorious and Successful ending.

• Which other card do you think detracts from this card’s energy?

I would say one of them is the Two of Swords. It quells the celebration and relief of getting to the end when you realize that now you have some serious decisions to make.

• Do you relate to this card? If so, why? If not, why not?

• If this card were a close friend, what honest advice would they give you right now?

Don’t cling. Let go and move on.

• What are the positive and negative associations with this card in your opinion?

Positive Association – I mentioned this before. Completion often feels like a sense of great relief.

Negative Association – Uncertainty. When something ends, there’s something new ahead. Fear of the unknown and uncertainty can make it really hard to embrace endings and let go sometimes.

• Do you have any examples of how this card’s themes have manifested in your personal life or the wider world around you?

A few years ago I had a LOT of the World and the Ten of Wands showing up together. It was during a time when I began to realize that I needed to slow down and start focusing more on my self care instead of constantly pushing myself to the limits again and again. The cycle of determination and burnout was taking a heavy toll and the World’s advice (which I took) was that it was time to turn over a new leaf and put myself first more often and my goals second.

• Do you have any points on the card’s deeper meanings, associations and imagery you would like to share? How does this understanding of the symbolism help your readings and how do you utilize its energy?

I feel that a lot of people forget that moving on means letting go. When you step through the doorway (or laurel wreath, as the case may be on the card) you have to leave what was on the other side behind. Because of that symbolism, I often can see the World card as a form of Liminal Space. An “in between” spot where you can’t linger. You must step forward through the door…. or step back and regress.

Mini Exercise

Place the topic card in the first, second and third positions of a three-card reading, if you find this changes the spread, discuss. Which of the three cards dominates the spread? Discuss why you feel this way. Which of the following themes would you say your spread exemplifies? (you can pick multiple)

• What does this spread say as a general (or relationship, career path, conflict resolution, or shadow-work) reading?

Top Row I would read as you’ve come to the end of a journey and now is a time to retreat to do some inner work. Moving on too quickly could be disastrous.

Center Row I would read as the fact that inner work is needed before you can move on. That inner work might hurt, but it’s the most direct path to something better on the horizon.

Bottom row is similar to the center in that inner work is needed, but it’s needed to deal with the wounds and trials that you struggled with on your journey. And you will only -be able- to move on once that work has been done.

• Which card in this spread feels like it stands out as the most powerful?

I actually find the Ten of Swords to be a very powerful card. It depicts the end of something painful usually, and so whether it’s in the “this is promised” context or a goal to reach for, it has a good deal of power behind it.

Sit With It For a Bit

Today’s meditation was un-timed and spent naked in the center of the bed under the ceiling fan.

Animal Spirit Tarot - Ace of CupsToday’s draw is the Ace of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of the seed of new beginnings in the area of one’s emotions, relationships, intuition, and creativity.

I had a bit of an emotional upset today, and it was today’s pull that helped me in getting through it.  It reminded me that my emotions, and their intensity especially, are still very new to me.

I’m still learning, and it’s okay to get pissed off sometimes.  It’s also okay to take time to process these emotions instead of shoving them away or reacting to them on the fly.

The message in today’s card is that sometimes it’s important to sit with an emotion until you have an understanding of where the new emotion is rooted, and where your initial reactions are coming from… before you act.

National Lipstick Day
– Pick a physical feature you don’t like about yourself and draw cards for a positive message about this feature. Chosen Feature – My scars.

Lisa Hall's Fairy Tale Tarot (trimmed naked)Reading Summary: You earned your scars through both fighting back against those that would have destroyed you (Left Card) and through incidents that were no fault of your own (Center Card). They mark you as brave and strong (Right Card).

Take Away: There is nothing to be ashamed of in wearing scars earned in defending yourself, standing up for what you believe in, or that are obtained at no fault of your own. Remember that when people stare at your scars, they are not judging you harshly, but seeing just how strong you really are written across your skin.

The #TarotForTheWildSoul Challenge Prompt
Questions for July 22nd and 25th

Animal Spirit TarotWhere do I feel most connected with nature in my current environment?

The Hierophant and Queen of Wands – Currently, due to stalker issues, you’re not able to enjoy going out in nature alone and on your own right now. You need company along for safety. That is your “current environment”.

You feel most connected to nature in this situation when whoever you take along with you is open to you teaching them about your surroundings as well as the rhythms and cycles of nature, and is supportive of your bond with nature and need to be out in it.

What is the element I most deeply resonate with?

Eight of Pentacles – Earth. From the theme of this card, there is a theme that specifically has to do with the honing of one’s skills and constant growth.

The Moon – Water. The Moon here indicates Water, but also speaks of your feelings of uncertainty as you feel your way forward on learning and growth in your emotional intelligence.

I took lots of mini-breaks today while working in order to cool down, and drank a lot of water.  I think I’m going to need to pick up some Gatorade tomorrow, tho.

Worth Fighting For

Today’s meditation was just over eleven minutes long, and was another of the quiet meditations combined with my piriformis stretching. It was peaceful and quiet, and I again didn’t struggle at all to stay in the “zone” through the entire length.

Yin Yang Cat Tarot - Five of WandsToday’s draw is the Five of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of tests, trials, struggle, and conflict in the area of one’s drive, willpower, enthusiasm, principles, values, or inner spark.

Ever since I got my hands on the Stolen Child Tarot, I see this card differently, as I now see an element of empowerment in the card, instead of just a theme of chaos and conflict.

For that reason, what I see in today’s card is a message that tells us to stand up for what you believe in. If it’s important, it’s worth fighting for.

Questions for July 28th thru 31st

Victorian Meaning of Flowers Oracle and the Yin Yang Cat TarotWhat has my divination work taught me this month?

Bleeding Hearts and Page of Pentacles – Don’t force it. Take your time.

How can I use my July lessons for the journey ahead?

Gardenia, King of Cups atop Four of Swords – You need downtime with Gideon in order to make things feel balanced and right in the world. Avoiding this time is a form of self punishment for you that you need to work on letting go of.

What awareness can I further build on throughout August?

Abulition and Eight of Swords – Stop ignoring and denying yourself the benefits that meditation gives you in your life and your health. You need to work on developing a regular practice that you can depend on doing daily.

How am I guided to give closure to my July journey?

Feverfew and Ace of Swords – It’s time to start really focusing on your inner voice and what it has to say and how it says it. Turn over a new leaf towards a gentler and warmer tone in how you speak with yourself.

Philosophical Question
: Can predestination and free will coexist?

Yin Yang Cat TarotReading Summary: You seek control and choose your passions (King of Wands). You choose your direction on life’s path (Two of Swords), and your interests along the way (Page of Pentacles). But Friday still comes regardless (Friday Cat).

Take Away: Just because there are things that are predestined to happen and places you are predestined to go doesn’t mean you don’t get to choose everything along that path. Just like Friday always arrives eventually, so too do these predestined things sit like landmarks on your path, but that doesn’t determine how you spend your week.
