Gideon’s Challenge

SupportSupport

I can’t see me
lovin’ nobody but you
For all my life
When you’re with me,
baby the skies’ll be blue
For all my life
Me and you and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice,
it had to be
The only one for me is you,
and you for me
So happy together

Okay, so I didn’t write today’s little poem.  They’re actually from the song “Happy Together” by The Turtles. But…. it was just so perfect for the picture.

The thing is? You are my support… and I’m yours.  Just like the branch above and organisms that make their life upon it.  Some might classify our relationship as co-dependent, but I don’t see it that way.  I see it as a perfect balance of support reinforced with the snug comfort of love added in.

  1. *Grins so wide as you sing to him* I love you, man

And we are -perfect- together. Co-dependency is usually defined by individuals who cannot exist on their own, without someone there to help them along and bolster them every step of the way. We, however -could- and have existed just fine on our own. We are both strong, capable people who just so happen to be *better* together.

Yes, it’s true, at this point I am absolutely certain that I couldn’t live without you, but that is because you have become my moon and stars, my sun and my air…my everything. So maybe it’s not that I -couldn’t- live without you, but that I would not want to live without you. It wouldn’t be living without you a part of it, only existing and that isn’t really living at all.

I have found true, ever lasting love in your arms and I am never, ever giving that up.

We are stronger together. We are better together. And we are a perfect balance of encouragement and love and support.

I am so fucking lucky that you’re mine.
