Gideon’s Challenge – Whimsy

Cloud Photography

Whimsy

I spy with
my little eye
someone
high in the sky
hooded in
a cloak of white
staring back
down at me
and I wonder
what they think
of what
they see
or do they
simply watch on
in curiosity

Gideon’s Challenge – More Than

Yellow Rose

More Than

My love for you
is more than
a flash-in-the-pan
or infatuation
and I wear no
rose colored
glasses
perched
on my nose
My love for you
is deep
and abiding
saturated
within
every breath
I breathe
and each cell
calls out
to you
that I am yours
always

Gideon’s Challenge – Comfort

Cedar Grove of Trees

Comfort

Come and
walk with me
among the
cedar trees
with sharp
tangy scents
tickling
at our senses
and the
rich green
of the forest
so bright
that shadows
feel
disorienting
and our fingers
lace together
in comfort
and connection

Gideon’s Challenge – Admiration

Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Admiration

Sweet treats
created with
aesthetic
perfection
brings home
the truth
that cooking
is more than
the creation
of food
but truely
includes
presentation
that makes
the mouth water
even before
you’ve had
a taste

Gideon’s Challenge – Invigorated

Primrose (Primula vulgaris)

Invigorated

Spring comes
in a riot
of colors
that flash brightly
from garden centers
and grocery stores
front yards
and porch stoops
as the celebration
of life
begins
with bursts
of blooms
that fill the world
with life
and cheer

🎨 Weekly Creativity Prompt – Movie Ending Rewrite

Prompt: “Draw (at least) three cards, and use them to create a new ending to a movie you wish had ended differently. Share your cards, as well as the name of your movie, and the new ending that you have devised from the cards.”

Movie: City of Angels (1998)

City of Angels Movie 1998

After having seen the ending of this movie for the first time, I’ve always chosen to turn the movie off at the cabin scene instead of watching it all the way through.

The ending is just too heart-wrenching and painful. I think it makes the movie even more striking, but I just can’t deal with the emotional upheaval that it causes.

Movie Scene Rewriting with the Mystic Wilderness Tarot

The New Ending

Left Card – God looks down at Seth and Maggie from on high, and is pleased with what he sees, the happiness and love that the couple has found, and forgives Seth for having fallen in order to love Maggie as a man.

Center Card – God blesses them with stability in their relationship and lives together. The type of stability that provides a rock of strength under their feet, even in rough or difficult times.

Right Card – With that stability, Seth and Maggie plant the seeds of love and family. They have five happy and healthy children; all with a touch of angel magic within them.
