Today’s meditation was a ten minute self-guided session based upon a May Sarton quote that says, “Without darkness, nothing comes to birth, as without light, nothing flowers.”

Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.
Today’s draw is The Hierophant card, which is traditionally a representation of traditions, spiritual guidance, long standing institutions, teachers and guides, and themes that deal with conformity and social norms.
The Hierophant card has then been combined with a card from the Lights In Dark Places deck, which says, “What you seek is already inside of you.”
It’s not always necessary to recreate the wheel. Sometimes, if something’s not broken, it should be left as is.
This often includes traditions passed down from one generation to the next. These traditions often teach us lessons from the past, or connect us in familial bonding. They show respect for those that came before us and the trials, failures, and successes that they’ve gone through.
Today’s Hierophant card and affirmation encourage us all to consider these traditions in your own life and seek out their knowledge and value before you dive in to discarding them or changing them. You could be, in rejecting them, throwing away something of more value than you realize.

October Spooky Season Challenge by @MercuryTarot
Prompts for October 25th through 30th
Which element best represents me?
Wisp – “everyone’s gotta start somewhere.”
Currently? Water. You’re waiting for the chips to finish falling and the dust to settle, watching the destruction and chaos with wide eyes and more than a little anxiety. Your normal sense of being grounded has been disrupted and your emotions are all over the place as a result.
Air (East) – What does my mind desire?
Swelldon – “he’s a swell guy. a little too swell of a guy, if you ask me. we’re all seriously concerned. might be a selfish allergy.”
Your mind searches for solutions and plans. They fill up every corner of your thoughts even as you resist thinking too much. Standing back and watching as things fall apart is not your strong suit and you’re near to bursting from the effort of doing so.
Fire (South) – How can I express passion?
Aghastha – “trust me, you do not want to know what she’s so shocked about.”
Do what you can to take your mind off those things trying to monopolize your attention. Your stress is your greatest dampener of your passions right now.
Water (West) – What emotion(s) drive me?
Arachnick – how anatomically unsettling of you!
Fear is currently in the driver seat right now. Your emotions are all over the place and it’s distracting to no end. You know at least a part of what you’re feeling is irrational, but you’re having trouble convincing your emotions, fears, and reactions of that fact.
Earth (North) – What does my body desire?
Rabbitwain – “unsurprisingly, rabbitwain is divided in his opinion on most things.”
and
Prime Ghoul – “all that hard work finally paid off. at last… it’s alive! well, sort of.”
Your body desires grounding and decisiveness. All this indecision and waffling is taking its toll on your energy and engagement with the world around you. Take care you don’t isolate.
Spirit – How can I connect to spirit?
Crustopher – “as it turns out, even meat pies can be reanimated! don’t you just lovett?”
Focus on connecting with the unconventional. You never were very good at conforming to norms.

Prompts for October 26th
Ignore – Hersperus – Ignore the chaos and deviltry. It’s not worth your time and will only cause distraction from what’s important.
Notice – The Elements – Pay attention and take notice of how your anger is manifesting, use your breath to calm your anxieties, allow your emotions to flow instead of cutting them off at the knees, and look for opportunities for growth. Nothing else is needed right now.
Take Away – Make sure that you aren’t letting those that would try to set you off balance get to you. Remember to let their efforts trail off your back like raindrops off a raincoat.
Don’t let it stick, but instead connect with your own emotions and reactions, and enact the moment of pause needed to keep yourself from showing a reaction.

I did my best to do a little relaxing today and get a little alone time. With everything going on lately, alone time has become a premium. Getting just an hour was a huge help.
