Today’s meditation was skipped.

Today’s draw is the Queen of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of a receptive alpha energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s motivation, drive, willpower, values, passions, spirituality, principles, and inner spark.

Help to support other’s enthusiasm when you see them faltering. You have the unique ability to provide perspectives that can make or break the fragile start of another’s inner spark with your own responses. Make sure that those responses support others, instead of redirecting them away from what they really desire.

Where can I release judgement in my heart?

Saturn (Structure) – Stop picking on yourself whenever you take some time off, have a little fun, or do something just for yourself. These things are a part of life too, and have value. Not everything can be about structure and responsibility at every turn. Sometimes you just have to ease up and let loose a bit.

How can I replace judgement with compassion and understanding?

Sixth House (Sustainability) – It’s important to remember that it’s through the balance of having fun along with (and sometimes along side) all of your responsibilities that you can find true comfort and happiness in your everyday life.

What cycles of karma am I ready to be released from?

Dignified (Strength) – Let go of self blame that has kept you from appreciating your opportunities and accomplishments. You don’t have to focus on the stuff that went wrong all the time, instead accept that sometimes it’s just not the right time for those things to come into your life.

Philosophical Question:  What is true beauty?

Reading Summary: Free will and independent principles that stand strong (Five of Wands) in support of (Queen of Wands) one’s sense of “home” (Four of Cups).

It took some time to find the connection in the Four of Cups, until I realized that this deck is based on the Thoth system.  In Thoth, the Four of Cups is a representation of “the womb” and a “mother’s love” that is stable, protective, safe, and affectionate. It is a place where one finds peace, connection, and stability on an emotional level.

Take Away: These cards aren’t about house and home, even though I used the word “home” to describe the theme represented here.  Instead, they are about the foundations we build our life, faith, ethics, and principles upon and where they come from.  In these cards, therefore, true beauty is about the love and support that helps someone grow into a good and principled person willing to stand up for their values and beliefs.
