Today’s meditation was skipped.

Today’s draw is the Ace of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of the seed of new beginnings in the area of one’s thoughts, intellect, education, logic, ambition, or communications.

My land line phone hasn’t been working right for a while now and I’m starting to think maybe I should just get rid of it entirely now that I have a cell.  The only reason I’ve kept it so long is it’s convenient to hand the phone off between people.   With a cellphone, if you hand it off so someone else can talk, you’re then without the cell until they’re done.

It’s something that I’ve been considering off and on for a bit, but with the phones acting up so much, I think it’s time to take a closer look and figure out if this is really what I want to do.

What have I forgotten that needs to be brought with me upon my path?

Ace of Cups and Wild Soybean – Your emotions cannot be closeted away in order to get things done. You still need to feel them and deal with them, just don’t let them run you off into hiding.

How can I begin to incorporate that back into my life?

Eight of Cups and Thunberg’s Smartweed – It’s not something you have to think about constantly. You don’t have to pick and choose your emotions, nor accept or reject them. Just let them flow.

Where am I on my path at this time?

Four of Pentacles and Byeonsan Winter Aconite – You’re currently looking back at your past stagnation and struggling to find acceptance with it. It feels like wasted time, and that something has been lost because of it.

What should I prepare to harvest at the end of the month?

Nine of Swords and False Dragonhead – Don’t spend so much time worrying about what you did wrong or what has been lost, but instead focus on your accomplishments. Look for those things that you have done and overcome, rather than dwelling on failures and the struggles themselves that you went through.

How do I begin those preparations?

Four of Swords and Morning Glory – Don’t let yourself forget that rest is also important. It’s not stagnancy when you need time to recover, because in that rest that you take you are doing something. You’re recovering. You need to accept that sometimes that’s enough.

What action can I take today to be more creative?

The Hermit atop Strength – Having some alone time today to work on the project you want to work on will allow your creativity to flourish.

What do I feel when I work on something creative?

The Emperor – Control and focus. During these times, you feel as if you are in full control of your own agency, and can mold the world to your will and desires.

What does creative inspiration feel like?

Page of Cups and Three of Cups – It feels like letting loose the floodgates. There is always so much creativity flowing inside you that when you finally find something to direct towards and let it loose, it flows freely and can take over your focus entirely. At these times there is a sense of eagerness and joy that feels a great deal like celebration.

I used a pillow under my knees today while working on getting the contact paper on the backing for the shelves. It was still painful to be on my knees so much, but probably not half as painful as it otherwise might have been.
