The Catnip

Bright green fades
as oils leech free
and the cat is
no longer
interested in thee
but the beauty of fall
graces your leaves
in a beautiful celebration
of the chill in the breeze
soon leaves will fall
as stems wither away
as ice replaces chill
and cold invades
