Joy’s Gateway Drug

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Blood Moon Tarot and How to Be a Wildflower DeckToday’s draw is the Knight of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of an active beta energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s passions and drive, willpower and determination, as well as their moral compass and beliefs.

Combined with the affirmation card for today, what I see here is a reminder that life is precious and we need to be passionate about enjoying it, savoring it, and being grateful for it.

Sometimes this is extremely difficult.  Sometimes… impossible.  But, it’s important even in those times to look at what catches the eye, sparks interest, and allows us to find a moment of joy to savor, even when it’s more fleeting than we’d like.

Mr Lionharts’ #TheNovemberTarot Solitary Tarot Challenge Prompt
Questions for November 29th & 30th

Ostara TarotWhere is light breaking into my life right now?

The Emperor atop Nine of Wands – Your “protective walls” came up out of ingrained habit to hide behind when your emotions became intense. They cut out the light that others love and kindness shine on you.

You are beginning to now be able to lower these walls and allow Gideon back in a little at a time, others will eventually follow in time.

What can I do to be more fully receptive of this light?

Seven of Swords atop Five of Swords – Stop fighting and trying to wiggle away. The defense mechanisms of your youth cause you to pull away, and although those defense mechanisms were a part of your past, and may spring up from time to time in the present, you don’t need to encourage them by leaning in and allowing them to steal any more of the light than necessary.

Where have these contemplations helped me find clarity?

The Magician – Acknowledging that there is a problem is the first step (and most powerful tool) in fixing that problem.

Today’s contemplations are helping to bring these habits concerning those walls into sharper focus and, as a result, returning the power and control back into my hands.

What can I do to further build on this moving forward?

Page of Cups – You are still learning how to identify and process your emotions. This is all very new to you still. You have learned a lot, but are still at the beginning stages of this learning process. Don’t get discouraged and give up.

Topic for November 29th
: Three Things to be Grateful For…

Blood Moon TarotTwo of Dreams (Air) – Autonomy. I am not bound by anyone or anything (other than societal laws, obviously). I am independent and follow my intuition and moral compass, unaffected by peer pressure or confined by other’s expectations. Everything I am and do is my choice, and there is always room to change direction as needed.

Temperance – Moderation is extremely difficult for me; a jagged pill that is tough to swallow. But, I accept it’s necessity and am aware of the dangers that come with my level of compulsive/addiction issues. Moderation is not easy, but it is something to be grateful for, as otherwise my life could (and would) spiral out of control.

Queen of Skins (Fire) – I am not alone in my passions and interests. My passion and drive inspires others and supports their drams, and they in turn support mine.

Daily Self Kindness

Again, playing catch up from over a week ago.  I just don’t remember.

Transitioning from November to December

Month End Tarot Reading - Somnia Tarot and Jeremy Miranda Oracle Cards

Here and Now I Exist – Who you are now, in your entirety.

The Moon atop Four of Coins – Waffling between stability and uncertainty. Feeling trapped.

The Slough – What is to be left in the past as you move forward.

The Heirophant – Right now you need to focus on you. You can’t help or guide others when you are depleted. It’s okay to close the door sometimes.

What Lies Ahead – An ideal state or ideal self you are seeking at this time.

Ace of Wands atop The Tower – Helping Ms B find new purpose after her loss. Helping her get organized and settled so that she can start off on the right foot.

Limitations – Negative influences, opposition, or ill will.

Ace of Cups atop Three of Coins – Take care in who is allowed to help. Ensure that your guard is kept up concerning those coming out of the woodwork at this time to offer their assistance in an effort to insert themselves and establish a connection.

The Boon – Positive influences, higher guidance, or divine intervention.

Page of Swords – Stay hopeful as you keep your eye on what lies ahead and learn to navigate your way through this experience.

The Wound – An unpleasant past experience or event that is ripe for some support and healing.

The Empress atop Six of Coins – You know just how painful backstabbing can be. You have experienced it before in the guise of nurturing kindness from others that in an instant turned to something painful and ugly.

Nostalgia – A positive past experience or event to acknowledge, reflect upon, and enjoy.

The Chariot – The little black woo woo. (Yes, this is code for an unforgettable memory I’m not going to share publicly.)

A Warning – Something coming that can be prevented or overcome.

King of Cups – Make sure you mend things with Gideon. He’s feeling alone and adrift, and that can quickly turn into resentment.

Empowerment – A future opportunity to work toward.

Justice – Balancing the scales will require looking beneath the surface and digging deep. Be thorough.

Side Note:  Skipping the second half of this reading, as there’s just not time to go through it all. I’ll return to the full reading next month.
