Be Nosy

Today’s meditation was skipped again. So many good intentions… so many skipped mornings.

Hush Tarot and How to Be a Wildflower DeckToday’s draw is the Knight of Pentacles, which is traditionally a representation of an active beta energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s finances, resources, health, home life, and the physical world. This often translates into themes that have to do with taking bold actions and making positive progress in these areas.

Today I took Ms B to the doctor and went in with her to meet her primary as well as get set up as her emergency contact.

This is one of many small steps she and I have been working on to make sure that she will have someone to depend upon for a support system if needed. Because Z lives in Canada, there are too many factors that could get in the way of her being able to fill that role.

The message in todays cards is to keep asking questions and expressing interest in meeting these people in her life. The doctors, the neighbors, the friends… becoming the head of this support system requires curiosity and an openness to explore her life with her.

Questions for November 23rd

Mystic Grove Oracle, Mystic Mushroom Oracle, Arcana Tarot Playing CardsWhat can I best focus on today in support of the self?
Nine of Diamonds, Pinwheel Mushroom atop Willow

The Marasmius Rotula (Pinwheel Mushroom) is a symbol of childlike exuberance, which is set atop the Salix (Willow tree), a symbol of healing and working through grief. Combined with the Nine of Diamonds, what we see here is a reminder to count your blessings during this time, and that in doing so, it will assist in the gentling and healing of your grief.

How can I best build on this throughout the week ahead?
Queen of Spades atop King of Clubs, Rowan atop Yellow-dust Amanita

Here we see the influences of your mother in the Queen of Spades, overshadowing your own intense drive and desires (King of Clubs). These cards indicate that the days ahead with your mother may try to eat away at your confidence.

Amanita Flavoconia (Yellow-dust Amanita) is a representation of (among other things) self doubt, which is something that has been flirting around the edges of your awareness the last couple days and is sure to be on the rise if your confidence takes a hit right now. Sorbus (Rowan) atop the Amanita is a reminder of the fact that you can counter that energy with focus on your successes, and that in doing so you can protect yourself from the effects of this self doubt.

Questions for November 23rd & 25th

Hush TarotAdvice I need to hear at this time concerning my personal growth.

Ten of Pentacles – You need to take time to reflect on just how fortunate you are and how much you have. Don’t get so caught up in the combination of the rush and grief that you lose sight of that.

Self care I need right now for the…

MindKing of Pentacles – Look at where you are and how you’ve gotten there. You may not get everything you want in life, but you strong enough and clever enough to get what you need. Don’t lean into brute force.

BodyKnight of Pentacles – Get on top of making sure you are getting the physical care you need. Falling out of healthy habits is a very bad idea.

SpiritKing of Wands – Own your passions, and lead others to help you in achieving your dreams. Go boldly forth…

Side Note – Lots of ownership of one’s actions present in these cards. And in the readings for today as a whole, there is a heavy emphasis on the need to focus on what you have and your accomplishments in order to bolster your confidence.

3 Steps to Healing Spread - The Paper Oracle

What obsolete behavior or belief is holding back my healing process?

Clover and Knife – The belief that optimism and luck are no match for negative inner narrative and self destructive tendencies.

Although you know this isn’t true, there are times when you fall back into that mindset. In fact, this mindset might be part of why you’re struggling to get back into your meditation practice.

What can I get dedicated and consistent about to support my healing process?

Lily and Hourglass – Commit to giving time to well established practices. You know what works.

Instead of making excuses and allowing yourself to skip these self care practices, commit time to them and make it a long standing routine instead of a short term fix or haphazard effort.

A source of hope and motivation to keep me going.

Sun and Book – Pay more attention to your successes instead of discounting them by saying you could have done better. It’s okay to feel good about your accomplishments instead of brushing them under the rug.
