/ Twist the Leaf

Little tree spirit
in the herb garden
peeking out between
healthy green leaves
sweet smiling face
there to greet
whenever the herbs
have needs
and at harvest time
they watch closely
as sprigs are snipped
with care
and stands in solidarity
as new leaves unfurl
to greet the air
