Food Fortunes - The Lovers / The Dog card

Today’s draw is The Lovers card (The Dog), which is traditionally a representation of love and relationships, long term contracts, harmonious unions, and making choices that are geared toward what is best for you.

You know what? There are certain situations in life where a hotdog is the only thing that’ll do. I know, I know… Not healthy. Or, well, a mystery meat at best.

Sometimes, though, it’s easier and better to give into your craving than deny yourself. Because sometimes when those cravings happen, they happen for a reason that goes beyond just “ooh, that would taste good”.

Denying yourself in these moments can lead to grazing, binge eating, and other habits that come from feeling like you’re neglecting something in yourself.

The message in today’s Lovers card and the “transitional” prompt is a reminder that sometimes self-care is about treating yourself once in a while. As long as it’s once in a while and not all the time.

Use the stirring of new life that Spring provides to create inspiration, and then ride Spring’s energies to act on those sparks of inspiration instead of sitting on them to let them percolate.

Mars enters Pisces: Where am I being asked to act with intuition instead of force?

Ace of Swords and New Direction – Stop using logic to try and plow forward through obstacles.

Everything doesn’t have to be so damn hard all the time. Ease your path forward by listening to your intuition more and allow it to choose your direction instead of always leaning into logic, reason, and strategy. By doing so, you allow yourself to “go with the flow” more instead of having to fight every step of the way forward.

Reading Summary: Remember that you are still a neophyte when it comes to understanding your emotions and dealing with them (Page of Drinks). When you are feeling out of sorts, there are better options than solitude (Five of Drinks). Take these moments as a sign that it’s time to reach out to others (Two of Drinks).

Take Away: As mentioned in a previous reading on another day, solitude is not your friend at the moment. You may enjoy alone time, but it’s not always healthy for you. Instead of retreating, reach out to others. Share with them what’s going on, and let them help you in sorting out your emotions.
