Spiritual Check-Up Tarot Reading

Spiritual Check-Up Tarot Reading - The Hush Tarot

What is my social well-being like right now?

Seven of Cups Rx – I want to step away instead of dealing with it or making choices. I’m not particularly social to begin with, which is not helping this reaction as all I want to do is retreat.

What is my emotional well-being like right now?

Five of Pentacles – Scarcity and loss. This answer is not surprising considering that I’m dealing with the loss of a loved one at this time. He’s gone and… there is so much that I have lost with his passing. So much that will be missing going forward.

What weakens my spirit?

The Tower – Knowing something will feel unmanageable, and thus can be chaotic. This feeling of helplessness creates a weakening of spirit for me.

What can I do to support my spirit?

Three of Cups – Be open with others instead of shutting down. A burden shared is a burden halved, and all that. Work on allowing others to uplift my spirits instead of wallowing in sadness is an important part of this process.

What can others do to support my spirit?

King of Wands – Letting others help me in getting done what needs done allows them to support my spirit and gives them a clear and easy path to helping me in getting through this time of loss.

What strengthens my spirit?

Queen of Pentacles – The need (and ability) to support others in a physical manner. To feed them, provide for them, and give them stability to grow from.

Foundations of Success

Today’s meditation was skipped again, although I did take some time to relax and do my yoga.

Phantasma Tarot and How to Be a Wildflower DeckToday’s draw is the Ace of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of the seeds of a new beginning in the area of ones intellect, education, ambition, logic, and communication.

Planting new roses, as is in the affirmation quote for today, is an echo of the “seed” spoken of in the Ace of Swords. Just as the quote as a whole of a mod to logical though.

The message in these cards today is a reminder to make sure you are looking at things locally. Look at what needs to be done to accomplish what you want to happen. Success lies in looking at things logically and planning a realistic path forward, not in daydreams and wishes made with noting solid to back them up.

Questions for November 23rd thru 27th

R Black TarotWhat expectations do I need to make clearer to others?

Three of Wands atop Judgement – Instead of leaving them to their own devices to guess where you want them to go and how you want them to make good choices for their life path, you need to speak up ad actually tell them what you think.

Where do I need to be more clear about someone else’s expectations?

EmperorYou are in charge of your own actions and choices. Don’t allow others to think they can push you this way or that, or manipulate you onto a different course.

What agreement have I made that is in need of reevaluation?

Son of Wands – Just how much time and effort you are willing to put into the business?

When I say “yes” when I want to say “no” what reaction am I trying to avoid?

Seven of Swords atop Daughter of Wands – At these times you worry that by saying no, budding potential will be cut short and stolen away.

How can I remain realistic about others’ reactions?

The Lovers – Just do what is right for you. Don’t worry about them.

Kindred Fauna Oracle and Phantasma TarotWhat can give me sense of…

ComfortThe Sun – Indulging in those things that light you up and make you happy. Taking time for these things helps untie your inner knots and ease inner tensions.

PurposeThe Emperor – Taking charge and stepping into the lead on those things that mean something to you personally. Allowing others to help you in accomplishing your goals while all the while providing them with support and a sense of sheltering.

ReliefSeven of Swords – Finding your footing in what you feel and believe is right. When there is a lack of self doubt, it is easier to breathe.

What can this do for me in the long run?

Balance – This speaks for itself. Finding a balance between the different aspects of life is not always easy, but inviting these elements more fully into your life can help you in finding a better balance among those different aspects.

Gideon’s Challenge

I Ache

Lets get lost
together
among
towering trunks
and damp foliage
swaying fronds
and raindrop patter
and as the green
opens her arms
to pull us in
we can lace fingers
and run
laughing
into a world
of soft moss beds
and the shelter
of evergreen boughs

Her words are arrows
poison tipped
with sharp barbs
along the shaft
to make sure
when they hit
their mark
they will stick
sting
and cause
permanent damage
dont let her see
the wounds she creates
or she will pour in
acid
to eat away
at your insides

she makes my balls
shrivel

Love and Letting Go

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Dancing In the Dark Tarot and How to Be a Wildflower DeckToday’s draw is the Six of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of leaving behind what is unhealthy or otherwise a problem in some way for a brighter horizon.

The traditional imagery in this particular card is accented with a cracked and crackled appearance, which speaks to me of situations that create a sense of splintering or inner crumbling.

Combined with the affirmation card for today, the message that I see here is a reminder that when things get rough and you feel like you’re falling apart, we need to remember to look to those that love and support us to help us through.

Questions for November 24th

Jeremy Miranda Oracle and Somnia TarotWhat can help make me feel like I’m enough?

Three of Swords – Finding peace through allowing yourself to feel your feelings. Pain and grief are not meant to be bottled up, and no matter how “weak” you may feel when vulnerable, it is through sharing and expressing that you will continue to grow.

What can help make me feel like I’m doing enough?

The Devil – Lean into your connection with the earth. Sink your hands into soil and get some work done outside if you can or bring the outside in when able.

What can focusing on my self-worth do for me?

The Moon – It will shine a light upon your uncertainties and fears, allowing you to see them more clearly for what they are instead of what your imagination and negative inner dialogue has blown them up to be.

Philosophical Question
for November 24th: Do you live to eat, or eat to live?

Dancing In the Dark TarotReading Summary: Food is a tool to good health (The Magician), and has an emotional connection (Six of Cups). It is also a deeply spiritual experience (The High Priestess).

Take Away: Both… and then some.

Eat to LiveThe Magician – I have a metabolism disorder that requires that I consume a great deal of food in order to avoid some pretty dire consequences including hypoglycemia, passing out, diabetic shock, hospital visits, and if not treated quickly, even death. Eating every few hours is an extremely important factor in making sure these things do t happen.

Live to Eat Six of Cups – Fortunately, I’m a big fan of food. I’m also often an emotional eater. I eat in reaction to a variety of emotions, I eat to celebrate, have a wide variety of comfort foods, and no interest in foods that do not delight my tastebuds. This emotional connection to food means I do not just eat to live… but also live to eat.

And then some.. The High Priestess – I am a witch. In fact, I am many types of witch. One of those prevailing types in my practice is “Kitchen Witch”. There is much witchcraft that I do that is not food, but there is absolutely no food that I make that is not witchcraft.

Weekly Creativity Prompt – Holiday Eats

Prompt: “It’s hard to escape the escalation of the holidays at this time of year, but one of the great things about the season is the food! I challenge you to draw five random cards, and decide what seasonal treats (different for each card) that you think fits each of the cards you pulled. Show off your cards! Share the food you matched with them, and why you made those choices.

The Rider Waite Smith TarotThe MoonCranberry Sauce – For the majority of my youth, I was scared to try cranberry Saudi. I was sure it was going to be the grossest, most vomit inducing thing ever. I finally tried it in my late teens, and although I’m still not a fan? It’s not as bad as I was so very positive that it would be.

Seven of PentaclesThe Giant Turkey – It takes forever to cook. Hours upon hours of waiting and basting. Put it in the oven in the morning and it’ll eventually be done by supper… but worth every moment when it’s finally ready to eat.

Eight of PentaclesOld Fashioned Divinity – Made correctly, this sweet treat is light and airy. A cloud of sweetness on the tongue. But, it’s persnickety. The ingredients have to be fresh and measured perfectly or it doesn’t turn out. Nor will it turn out if it’s raining outside or the humidity is too high. It takes a lot of work to get this treat right, but when you do? It truly is divine.

The EmpressStove Top Stuffing – When I was homeless, this was something that was often offered in the food bank boxes, and its flavor has somehow come to represent a warm comfort to me. Something that was there to nurture me when I was at my most desperate.

Knight of WandsDeviled Eggs – Oh my god. I could easily pass on the turkey, the stuffing, even the desserts… but not the deviled eggs. I can eat them all day and still come back for more. So good.
