Delicate and Tenacious

Hope is a glowing star
in a night sky,
a shimmering flower
in the shade
delicate  and open
vulnerable and lovely
easily crushed
with a careless hand
or the wrong conditions
and yet
given the chance
to flourish and shine
with the smallest kiss
of encouragement
