/ Twist the Leaf

Dianthus Barbatus

Little white eyes
tilt up toward
the summer sky
as sweet flowers
cluster and push
to nudge
each other aside
for a moment
in the spotlight
until fingers pluck
and flowers float
in an iced tea glass
for love and hope
