/ Twist the Leaf

Eastern winds
slip between
mountain crevaces
to skim ice
and cold
over rocks
and branches
and as snowflakes
fall
the waterfall
freezes
and we are left
huddled together
to seek warmth
with hands in
each other’s pockets
