An Open Mind Requires an Open Heart

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Ideal Soulmate Tarot - Four of CupsToday’s draw is the Four of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of stability, ease, structure, shelter, and taking time to reassess, as well as cloistering and stagnation in the area of emotions, creativity, relationships, and intuition.

The imagery in this card is very classic RWS, and yet there’s something very sulky and unhappy in that side-eye that the figure has going on as he sits there with his chin in his hand. This makes the card feel like it’s not so much about reflection and contemplation, but… sour grapes. In fact this guy is so pissy that he can’t even see that there’s an offering in the wings just waiting for him to notice.

Today’s card is a reminder that when we allow negativity to take over and steal our focus, we lose sight of others around us that only wish us good, as well as the beautiful and generous contributions that they offer to our lives.

@Lionharts #TheFebruaryTarot Queen of Cups Challenge Prompt
Questions for February 15th and 16th

Epitaffio OracleWhat can I do to contribute to my relationship with myself?

Ghiaccio – Don’t look at your struggles as something to drag you down, but rather something placed before you to facilitate lifting you up.

Narancia Ghirga – Lean into others during these times, and not only will you receive a boon from your struggles, but a closer connection with those around you as well.

How can I use my past as a catalyst for personal growth?

Tiziano – Learn from communication mistakes and misunderstandings in your past to help you communicate better in the future.

Prosciutto – To communicate well, it’s important to both listen and share. Don’t close yourself off and silence your voice out of fear or lack of self confidence as you often did in your youth.

#DiscordTarotholicsFeb2023 Challenge Prompt
Philosophical Question for February 15th
: Where does self-worth come from?

Ideal Soulmate Tarot - King of Swords, King of Pentacles, Seven of Pentacles, Three of PentaclesReading Summary: Experience (King of Swords atop King of Pentacles) and long term growth (Seven of Pentacles) combined with the influence of others and what they have to teach us along the way (Three of Pentacles).

Take Away: I don’t personally think that there is only one source of where self-worth comes from or one path to its development. That said, for many, what the cards say here is true.  A lot of times it is through experience that we learn our worth.  We travel the path of our life and experience many things, learn from others along the way, and eventually feel that we have grown and developed into our own estimation of worth.

Daily Self Kindness

This is catch-up post, and I cannot remember what I might have done as a self-kindness for the day.

Weekly Creativity Prompt – Different Scenarios

Prompt: “The purpose of this activity is to practice interpreting small spreads by combining card meanings, symbols and intuition. We will all interpret the same cards based on a few different (imaginary) situations. A 3 card spread will be posted together with 2 more specific scenarios. It’s your choice which scenario you’d prefer to use, or if you’d rather do a general reading of these cards as for an imaginary querent.

Sasuraibito Tarot

Scenario 1 – A limited edition vinyl of Kelso’s favorite album just came out. However, Kelso knows that their paycheck is going to be smaller than usual. They want to know if it’s a wise idea to buy it right now.

Go ahead and treat yourself (Three of Cups and The Empress), just do so with clarity of mind (Ace of Swords). Accept that money is going to be extremely short in other places if you do this, and be prepared to cut back elsewhere as needed. It’s okay to treat yourself now and then as long as you approach these moments with practicality and don’t overindulge.

Scenario 2 – There’s been some changes in Miles’ life and he’s trying to figure out the best way to tell his dad about them.

Get together and take the time to check in on  your dad first.  Once you’ve had some time together and you know everything is okay, then is the time for some clear and open communication on what you need to tell him.  Don’t just jump in cold… he needs to be warmed up first.
