The Unexpected Boon

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Tarot Eros: Garden of Love TarotToday’s draw is the Hanged Man, which is traditionally a representation of taking a pause, considering different viewpoints, the need for a change of perspective, and letting go of control to surrender to the moment.

Now this is a figure that doesn’t appear to mind the position they find them in at all.  The imagery here speaks to me not just of pausing to consider a different perspective, but to truly find the unexpected boon in that other perspective. Really relax into it, let go, and see where it might end up taking you.

Mr Lionharts’ #TheFebruaryTarot Kindred Spirits Challenge Prompt
Questions for February 1st thru 3rd

Romantic TarotWhat does my highest, most exalted self look like?

Ace of Cups and Ten of Wands – These cards are a representation of “honeymoon phase” on overdrive. It’s an indication of new emotions and good behavior, and not showing your flaws.

The fact is?  There is no such thing as a “highest, most exalted self.  We’re human.  We’re all human.  We all make mistakes and no one is perfect. Pretending otherwise helps no one.  Believing otherwise holds you back from your true potential.

What advice does this version of myself have for me?

The Magician – Everything you need is already a part of who you are.

Where or in what way would my life change if I became {more} open to stepping into the highest version of myself?

Two of Pentacles – More balance. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about becoming a better person.  Instead of focusing on the goal of becoming perfect, focus on the goal of being a better person, and better balance will come naturally into the equation.

How am I asked to step into this highest version of myself this month?

Eight of Cups and Queen of Cups – Leave behind what isn’t working, and own this better version of yourself… flaws and all.  Be kind to yourself. It takes more strength to be kind than to be cruel.

In what way or in what area am I asked to raise my vibration?

Eight of Wands Rx and The Devil Rx – Slow down and savor instead of indulging in your tendency to always be striving for more. Get to know yourself, learn to be kind to yourself, instead of constantly reaching for the temptation to punish yourself for being… you.

#DiscordTarotholicsFeb2022 Challenge Prompt
Philosophical Question for February 2
: What is the difference between living and being alive?

Tarot Eros: Garden of Love TarotReading Summary: In one lives security, comfort, and connection (Two of Cups and Three of Pentacles). In the other lives chasing after fleeting passions with everything you have (Ace of Wands and The Devil).

Take Away: It’s the story of style vs substance.  This reading didn’t ask which is better, it asked what the difference between the two is. Ultimately?  Neither is wrong or right, but there is a distinct difference.  One builds roots, the other is quick and always moving.  One builds connections, the other is constantly changing.

Daily Self Kindness

I took a nap because I was tired and I think it was a good move, even if I kind of feel like I woke up a bit lower emotionally than where I was at when I laid down.

Just a little
tired today
lets stay inside
don’t wanna play
no frolic in
the chilly woods
or sprightly dance
as lovers could
instead
I wanna sit
right here
and you could
tuck in
close and near

Weekly Creativity Prompt – The Lovers

Prompt: Pull the Lovers card from your deck(s). Compare the imagery between the Lovers card from the Tarot of the Hidden Realm and the Lovers card(s) from your own deck(s). Based off the imagery, how would you read them differently, and why?

The Lovers - Tarot of the Hidden RealmTarot of the Hidden Realm – There is a sweetness here, and a loving innocense.  This is the anticipation of first love with a moment’s hesitancy due to innocence.  There is trust in this moment and irresistable attraction. Here we see depicted a moment caught in time where a bridge is created between what once was… and what will be. A decision made that will forever change everything. How do you make the right choice? Where does the decision come from?

Tarot of the Hidden Realm, Eros Garden of Love Tarot, Blood Moon Tarot, Tarot de Maria Celia

Eros Garden of Love Tarot – So wrapped up in each other they can’t see the serphent tangled among them, here we see depicted the distraction that sex, attraction, and passion can become when one dives in care free and careless. Others watch on (the angel) but don’t interfere, like a friedn that wants to warn their friend that the “other half” is bad news but won’t because they either don’t want to butt in or fear damaging their friendship by pointing out the obvious. This card asks… what has your passion blinded you to? What warnings and dangers lurk that you are ignoring because you are too caught up in the moment?

Blood Moon Tarot – To me, this card is very reminiscent of the Tarot of the Hidden Realm’s Lovers card. The same irresistable draw of opposites, but with less innocence, and more passion with a gritty “tangled roots” sort of feeling. There is heat here in the connection between the two figures, familiarity and pulse fluttering intimacy, as well as a sharing of resources that speaks of nurturing energy, love, and care. Union flavored with passion, emotion, and support. Where in the Tarot of the Hidden Realm the card depicts a choice in the moment it is about to be made… here we see that choice made once and over again and again.

Tarot de Maria Celia – Let us not forget the Marseille depiction of the Lovers, which we see here in this card. A man and his bride stand together as a mother figure tries to pull him away.  Sometimes, this mother figure is an alluring “other woman” instead.  In both cases, this imagery is all about choices and making decisions that are best for you and alligned with your values and what you want in life. This imagery is asking if you are allowing yourself to be distracted from what is best and healthiest for you. Do you make the good choice? Or let distractions, temptations, and other influences pull you away and off this path you’ve invested in?
