The Return

Wet grass
and soaked shoes
sloppy puddles
and muddy fields
the rain is back
once again
so very missed
by earth and man
that the world seems
to sigh in relief
as I lie in the chill
on the sopping ground
and smile gratitude
to the weeping sky
