Together, There is More to Share

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Jupiter's Eye Tarot - Ten of CupsToday’s draw is the Ten of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of feelings of completion, connection with others and harmony in those connections, and is often considered as the “happy family” card.

The imagery on this card reminds me of the stories of faerie mounds and how the portal into the land of the Fae can be accessed through them by being opened at certain times of the year, or through the ministrations of a witch. Meanwhile, the hands make me think of a coven, and the work that those within the group do together, lending their strengths to a mutual cause that none of them could achieve on their own.

The message I see here in this imagery, today, is that a great deal of success and achievement can be obtained by working together on a mutual goal, and the joy and satisfaction in this endeavor is something shared with all involved when all are on board.  Today’s card, therefore, is a reminder that joy, happiness, and contentment are richer when shared, rather than hoarded to one’s self.

Daily Self Kindness

I got some time outside. My ankle is definitely not happy about it, but the rest of me feels better.

The Empress Rx – Lack of self-care is a problem at this time of year. You just don’t have the amount of time that you need to put into these endeavors at the moment. Weekly Creativity Prompt – Manna From Above

Prompt: “Pull (at least) three cards and use them to tell us a story that ends in the phrase “manna from above“.

Manna from Above Storytelling with the Tarot of the Hidden RealmIt was a long and arduous battle, and I raged through the night to come out the other side with my blade and clothes coated in crimson. (Ten of Swords)

As I traveled home, weary to the bone, I worried that that I might not have slayed them all. Had one of the beasts gotten past me? Would I arrive to my home only to find all that mattered to me had been burned to the ground in a pile of smoldering ashes? (Nine of Swords and Ten of Pentacles)

And, when I climbed the last rise that lead to my home, I prayed to the heavens that my home would still be there, and that the smoke in the air would be a cook fire and not my family burning. So fearful was I that when I crested the hill and I heard my wife’s shrill, nagging voice carry over the distance to send my ears a-ringing, it was the sweetest sound I’d ever heard, and to my soul it felt like manna from above. (Page of Swords)
