Lily and Book – If you begin to journal about your experiences, you will be able to look back on them later with clear eyes instead of a clouded memory. In doing so, you can more clearly see what you are grateful for, and be more prepared and able to express that gratitude openly to others.
What will help me, in this moment, to express moments of love in the present?
Animatxs and Goat – To express moments of love more clearly in the present, lean into being more impulsive. You spend too much time worrying about what other people think, and more specifically what your father would think. This worry causes you to hold back on expressing your love.
What will help me, in this moment, to express hope for the future?
Birds and Scythe – Bring your friends in close, and cut loose the naysayers that would get in the way with their doubts and negativity.
Today’s meditation was skipped.
Today’s draw is the Justice card, which is traditionally a representation of cause and effect, consequences, repercussions, and can refer to the legal system, penal system, or the law.
The imagery on this particular Justice card makes me think of that saying about letting someone “live rent free in your head”, and that the greatest punishment that we can dole out to those that have wronged us is to forget about them entirely
The card poses the questions… What lives rent free in your head that is doing you more harm than good? How can we let go of these things and leave them in the past?

Question for October 3rd: What is your relationship with your ancestors at this time?
Reading Summary: You trust them (The Lovers) to lead you towards the stability and security (King of Coins) that you so desperately crave (Four of Coins).
Take Away: Stability is a need that has been deeply rooted and established in you for a long time, and the road to get there is hard and long. You trust your ancestors that guide you to have your best interests at heart, and to help you in the journey that will give you that stability you need.
This trust was a long time in coming, and took a lot of reflection. But, it creates a strong and stable foundation between you and those ancestors.

What behaviors by others trigger me the most?
Page of Quills – The Know It All is someone that gains a modicum of knowledge and gets a resulting inflated ego. Otherwise known as the Dunning-Kruger effect.
Wheel of Fortune – The Risk Taker is someone that is careless of the affect their actions and behavior have on those around them. This usually leads to what they consider (if acknowledged at all) as collateral damage.
Three of Quills – The Pity Partier is someone that chooses to wallow and lament in their misery rather than do anything about it. Even when others reach out to help, they are stubbornly rigid in their refusal to budge.
How are these triggers helping me grow?
The Know It All – King of Coins – They remind you that true expertise takes time and practice. It is more than reading a book or being good at something, but also involves grounding one’s knowledge in experience and repetition.
The Risk Taker – Five of Wands – They allow you to observe their behavior and how their behavior influences (and often damages) those around them, so that you don’t make the same mistakes.
The Pity Partier – Queen of Wands – They show you how important “fighting the good fight” really is, and are a lesson in fostering your own passions and motivations so you don’t fall into the same behavior.
I insisted that the men that came to light the fireplace continue to work at it long after they’d wanted to give up. I’m the last unit in the building on the gas line, and it takes a long time for the air to bleed up out of the lines before I’ll finally get the gas needed to light the pilot light. Usually the workers try a few times then insist I have to get someone in to do an inspection and repair. This time I forced them to wait and keep trying, and eventually the lines cleared and it lit fine.

Today’s meditation was skipped, Although not for lack of trying. Leg cramps made it impossible to stay still.
Today’s draw is the Empress card, which is traditionally a representation of the divine feminine, mother earth, the strength that resides within feminine energy, nurturing energies, beauty, and abundance.
The imagery on this card reminds me of interactions I’ve seen between a friend of mine and her mother. This friend keeps her hair very long, even though it often frustrates her. I always wondered why until I began seeing her and her mother together more often.
Whenever they are together the mother is drawn to playing with her daughter’s hair, running her fingers through it and caressing it. My friend’s mother finds her hair beautiful and irresistible. It has become a comforting and bonding experience between them that the daughter fosters by keeping her hair long even though it’s not her preferred style.
This card begs the question… What creates a comforting atmosphere in your life? What bonds and rituals with others nurture your soul? What little things that nurture and connect us do we overlook that, with a little attention paid, we can preserve and foster in our lives and the lives of others?

Bat – What is ending at this time that needs my awareness and focus?
Nine of Ghosts – The time for comfortable satisfaction and chilling in your accomplishments his coming to an end for the year. The next three months, you won’t have much time for reflection on all the good stuff or a sense of satisfaction. You’re going to be too busy.
Calendula – Who is a loving constant in my life that needs a bit more recognition?
Knight of Pumpkins – Those in your life that are trying to help you meet your goals, but do so at a slower pace. You don’t need people to push you, just to help you stay on track and move at a slow and steady pace instead of a frantic one driven by your emotions and anxieties.
Owl – What do I need to know right now to trust that I’m on the right path?
The Hermit – As long as you keep your alone time healthy, you’re good. Don’t fall into unhealthy habits of retreating into yourself and cutting other people out.
Rosemary – What memory from my past needs revisited to guide in my future safety?
Page of Bats – You need to look back at the things that you learned this year that are practical and help guide you towards your goals. Revisit things like QuickBooks, Vela, and other tools that can help you automate parts of your business as they can help ensure that you are not overwhelming yourself with a crapload of stuff that could be done automatically instead of manually. This then helps in mitigating the approach of burnout that is so prevalent for you through the holiday rush.
Black Cat – Where is conformity more of a risk than independent thought?
Knight of Imps – Fads fade. Don’t jump on the bandwagon because whatever it is seems popular and different than what you’re now doing. If you’re bored with what you’re doing, find something new and unique to chase after instead of following the crowd.
Wormwood – During this time when the veil is thin, what in my life needs protecting?
Ten of Imps – Do not allow yourself to get overwhelmed and overburdened at this time. The more overwhelmed you feel now, the worse it will get later on through the season ahead.
Raven – Where can sating my curiosity lead to the resurrection of something I’ve lost?
Five of Imps – If you seek out others perspectives on the things that they are passionate about, you can stir up your own passions as a response. Their enthusiasm and conviction can in turn feed yours.

What situations leave me stressed?
The Emperor and Ten of Wands – The necessity of taking charge and taking on responsibility when secretly you are already overwhelmed and far beyond your limit.
You take these things on naturally with barely a glance at the damage it will do to you by doing so. This added pressure and overwhelm then build into something detrimental in the background while you try to pretend it’s not happening.
How can I handle these triggering situations better?
Death and The Lovers – Instead of letting things come to a head and become unhealthy, start working on small processes along the way to delegate and otherwise turn situations around so that they can be more healthy for you when crunch time comes.
I worked on getting my rosary orders done during play today instead of putting it off til tomorrow and letting it overwhelm me on orders day.
