As you step
up behind me
and your arms
curl
to slip under
my arms
and around
my waist,
my lungs expand
and I lean back
as you nuzzle
my neck
and give me
warm fuzzies
fluttering in my soul
Something Is Missing Tarot Reading
What is missing from my life.
The Fool – Innocence and care free fun. You spend so much time calculating trajectories that you leave little to no time to just cut loose and be worry-free.
Why I’m feeling like I don’t have enough of it.
Five of Pentacles – A lack of this carefree innocence creates a feeling of scarcity that you can’t let go of.
How this affects my energy.
Three of Wands – Those feelings of scarcity push you further along the path that you are already on where responsibility is king and carefree innocence takes a backseat.
How I can feel satisfied about it.
Nine of Cups – Combating these feelings of scarcity and ending this cycle requires pausing to look at and appreciate all that you have accomplished and how far you have come. This appreciation goes beyond acknowledgment, and into actually taking time to enjoy these things.
Where I need to look to find it.
Seven of Cups – The opportunity for innocence, joy, and carefree moments is around you everywhere. It’s not where you look, but in actually opening your eyes and choosing to see.

Feeling Unprepared
Today’s meditation was skipped.
Today’s draw is the Three of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of taking action towards one’s goals, progress upon a journey, and the seizing of opportunities.
The figure in this card is stationary, but prepared. He hasn’t left the staffs that stand with him stand on their own, but instead has taken one up in preparation of stepping forward into the fray.
Today’s card asks… are you ready for what’s coming? If not, what do you need to do to prepare?
In my case, the holiday rush is nearly upon us, and I am -not- ready yet. Then again, I’m not sure even if I was fully ready that I’d know it and feel it as such. I’d probably still feel unprepared. That said, today’s card encourages action so that these first steps on this journey go more smoothly.

Questions for October 5th
Charon and Werewolf – You are resisting the idea that you will have to put in more and get less back in return.
Well, yeah. Changing my CC company was a rude shock. My past plan was fixed rate on the interest. The new one is the lowest interest rate I could find that has the capability to be double what the last card was (it fluctuates).
Why?
Shadow and Dragon – It’s in my past experiences (specifically with poverty) that the drive lies to be miserly. What’s mine is mine is mine… and in giving away what’s mine there is a stirring of scarcity issues. This is true even tho my circumstances have changed and I am no longer in that place of poverty anymore.

Philosophical Question for October 5th: What awaits us after we pass to the other side of death’s veil?
Reading Summary: What you stood strong for in the past (Seven of Wands) determines the direction you go as you cross the veil (Two of Wands). Most return with those convictions intact to either continue “fighting the good fight” and/or create diversity in the world (Five of Wands).
Take Away: These cards appear to speak about reincarnation, and that what you believe in and how you act in the current life is how it is determined what and/or how you return in the next and what your journey in the next will entail.

I slept in and tried to take it easy for the majority of the day. I needed a bit of a rest and so I did my best to give myself that.
Gideon’s Challenge
Weekly Creativity Prompt – The Emperor
Prompt: “Pull the Emperor card from your deck(s). Compare the imagery between the card provided below and the card(s) from your own deck(s). How would you read them differently and why?“
Tarot of the Hidden Realm – The imagery in this card makes me think of Odin and his two ravens. I’m not -sure- if that’s intended (although I bet it is), but that’s where my mind goes. His expression and the depth of of darkness he sits in speaks of a man with a great weight of responsibility on his shoulders. This translates, for me, into an energy, personality or person with a great deal to tend to, deal with, and a lot of responsibilities that take deep thought, solid reasoning, and the whisper of informants to help him stay upon the pulse of what’s going on around him.
Tarot Nuages – Here we have a king, stooped and aged, that sits on a throne among the clouds high above all that he rules over. Untouchable, the figure sees everyone and everything. The size of this figure and its lofty perch bring to mind the Christian God and his omnipresence. So very far above the world and looking down, can anyone really understand what he thinks or where he comes from? Probably not. They follow him blindly and trust he has their best interests at heart.
Garbage Pail Kids Tarot – On a throne of mice with a leopard’s pelt as his robe, this emperor’s head explodes in a mushroom cloud as he pushes the button. This card, to me, asks the question of where are you overwhelmed in your responsibilities… and how is this overwhelm affecting your judgements and actions? How could you make better choices if you take a moment to stabilize rather than simply reacting?
Le Tarot de Marseille par Pole Ka – Dude looks like he’s looking over at the guy next to him thinking “this motherfucker’s an idiot”. Highly decorated for honor, valor, and more, this general rules with a tight fist and demands excellence from all those around him. It speaks of demands for perfectionism… and demands that you do more than just follow… but think. As his gaze clearly says… Don’t be an idiot.

A Show of Compassion
Today’s meditation was skipped.
Today’s draw is the Strength card, which is traditionally a representation of inner strength, persuasion usually through means of compassion, influence and/or manipulation, and courage.
“Smoothing the feathers” of others.
That’s where this card takes me today. When we care about others, sometimes smoothing their feathers and helping them to ease up, calm down, or see things in a different light is important.
Sometimes it’s important to do this for those around those we care for as well, in order to help things go smoothly, or protect those we care about, or just to make sure that people aren’t trespassing over set boundaries.
Today’s card is are minder that this task isn’t a bad thing, nor a chore that one should dread needing to deal with. It’s a show of love and care. A show of compassion and strength.

#DiscordTarotholicsOct2022 Challenge Prompt
Question for October 4th: Spooked: What scares you?
Reading Summary: It scares you that your efforts (Eight of Pentacles) will not lead to (Imagery in the Seven of Wands) success (Queen of Pentacles).
Take Away: The idea that you could put years or longer into something, all your energy and dedication into developing the skill at something… and then find yourself somehow blocked from reaching your goals.
Investment without reward is one of your greatest fears, especially when that investment encompasses huge swaths of time, effort, and focus. To put in all that time, effort, and focus only to end up empty handed is something you don’t even like to consider as a possibility.
