Lingering Near Shore

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Beautiful Korea Tarot - Six of SwordsToday’s draw is the Six of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of moving on, leaving behind difficulty for something better, and letting go.

Unlike the Eight of Cups, which has a similar theme, but with an emotional aspect involved, in the Swords suit, this theme is about strategy and logic. It’s about finding a better path for who you are and what you want, and leaving behind struggle and hardship in the process.

Today’s card is an encouragement to get going on changing the things I need to change in my life. It’s June now, and the projects I had planned for the spring and summer are all still in the beginning stages. It’s time to move into what’s to come instead of lingering near the shore I came from.

Questions for June 2nd and 3rd

Okami Tarot and Flower Message Oracle 1 & 2I will allow myself to…

Wheel of Fortune and Primrose – …more smoothly bend under the ups and downs of life. Resistance is not serving, and thus it would be better to find a way to go with the flow instead.

By…

The Hierophant atop Ace of Wands, Mulan Magnolia – … learning to accept what I cannot change. Fighting against the changes that come with those ups and downs does no one any good.

I have the power to…

The Fool, Plum Blossom atop Wish – …let my inner child have more space to breathe and experience things.

Because…

Seven of Cups and Camellia – …kindness, including self-kindness, is a choice. If I want to instill more fun and carefree play into my life, I can do so… and it will be very good for me if I do.  I just have to make the choice.

Bonus: Do the Seek Light Tarot Spread

Seek Light Tarot Spread with the Beautiful Korea Tarot

What steps could I take toward improving myself, my life or something I struggle with?

Stop ignoring the problem (Eight of Swords Rx), and fight (Five of Swords) to get yourself back on track (The World).

This is about stagnancy, and the fact that I’m dawdling on the edge of depression’s pit instead of continuing to grapple, scramble, and fight my way free of it entirely.

In what area should I be kinder to myself, focus on the good, or treat myself better?

The Sun and Ace of Swords – You’re allowed to have fun, and you need to start looking at play time as a good thing instead of a waste of time.

What personal traits, or strengths, can help me attract the good I want {to manifest} for myself?

Knight of Rods atop Eight of Pentacles – You are skilled and passionate about your work. Use that to your advantage. I love your strengths in this area to lift you up and your passion to provide you with extra drive and motivation.

My soul
a deep ache
scorched raw
by your intensity
and now
vulnerable
and open
for all to see
and I wait
struggling
under summer sun
to find your shade
so you can
ease my burns

Look On the Bright Side

Today’s meditation was skipped today.

Retro B(arbie) Tarot - Five of CupsToday’s draw is the Five of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of apathy, boredom, a pessimistic mentality, and discontent.

Poor Barbie reading her heartbreak book with tears in her eyes instead of looking at the freedom she has gained in her break-up.  Here we see the epitome of looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Today is orders day and I’m so very not into getting my work done. At the same time?  There were so few orders that I’m chafing at the idea of just how little came in this week.  It’s bad.  Like… real bad.

Today’s card is to look on the bright side.  Stop grousing about the work, and then about the lack of orders.  You’re literally bitching about both sides of the coin here. Turn those complaints around and look at what you still have and what good you can get from the situation.

Questions for June 2nd thru 4th

Dixit Game Cards v3 JourneyAbout feelings…

Top Row – Others are always watching. Some will be supportive and others won’t. Some will be looking for how they can exploit your vulnerability and growth, and others will be amazed and encouraged. Don’t allow the awareness that others are watching make you close down and cage your emotions out of fear of those with bad intentions.

About friendship…

Center Row – True friends are there with you not just when there are exciting adventures to go on, but also when there’s work to be done. The magic is in finding those that are there for both.

About loneliness…

Bottom Row – Sometimes when your emotions are out of sorts, and you are feeling alone and lonely, you just need to open your eyes and look around. The solution to these feelings is in reach and the others you seek are right there with you.

Retro B(arbie) TarotThis Month will Reveal…

The Star and Eight of Cups – …how positivity and optimism can help you move on to something better, healthier, and less frustrating. You need to take the time to lean into that positivity and allow it to help you find that better place.

Because…

The Hierophant and Six of Swords – …you need to not just learn a better way and to try it out, but actually instill it into your life as something that is established and permanent. Not temporary or used only when needed.

Learning to Lose Gracefully

Today’s meditation was more of a mourning experience. I learned today of Poppy Palin’s passing and while I did my stretching, I spent my time listening to Poppy’s last three videos where she says goodbye.

R.I.P. Poppy. You were a wonderful woman with a giving heart and far more admired and loved than you ever realized.

Everyday Enchantment Tarot by Poppy Palin - Eight of CoinsToday’s draw is the Eight of Pentacles, which is traditionally a representation of hard work and skill development, apprenticeship, skilled labor, gaining experience, and working towards expertise at something.

You are of an age in your life where you are going to start losing people. Your grandfather, father, Mr R, the number of friends that passed in the first wave of Covid, people you love and admire. Many have passed on, and many more still will. Can you get “good at” grief? Or is it new and fresh every time?

These are the thoughts on my mind today, even as I ask for a positive message. Today’s card tells us practice makes perfect, but that there will always be room to learn more and improve. Don’t give up. Even the pain in life can be a learning lesson for the positive if you are open to it.

Three of Wands atop The Hierophant, Imagination – Those small steps forward will carry you out of stagnancy and will allow you to be on your way toward establishing long term practices that can help all that you imagine for yourself to flourish.

Question
for June 1st: Do people need other people for true happiness?

Everyday Enchantment Tarot by Poppy PalinReading Summary: Humans are social by nature (Three of Pentacles) and many truly need people in their lives in order for life to feel complete (The Emperor). On the other hand, there are always going to be those that would rather live in hardship rather than be social (Five of Coins).

Take Away: The answer to this is that it’s different for different people. Some need others in their lives, either by just a little or a lot. Others are happier alone, even if that means more hardships and extra work. Sometimes, this is the nature of that person, but more often it is spurred by past trauma.

Storytelling with the Don't Starve TarotThe Wolf and The Fox
(The story of Gideon and Twist)

There was once a young fox that was fiercely independent and thought he had everything he needed in life (The Magician). He went through his days doing what he wished without commitments (The Fool), running his life with efficiency and single-minded focus.

One day this fox met a great big wolf who stirred up things within his soul that he didn’t understand (The High Priestess). It made the fox uncertain, as he felt unbalanced in the wolf’s company, and so he often ran away from the wolf (The Moon) even while at other times he was irresistibly drawn to be in the wolf’s company again and again (The Devil).

There came a time in the wolf’s life when everything he knew fell apart and those he trusted turned on him (The Tower), upsetting not just his current life but what he saw as his future (Judgement).

In kindness, the fox reached out to the wolf to make sure that he was okay (The Empress). In the conversation that ensued, the fox provided insight (The Hierophant) and perspective to the wolf that the wolf had not considered, and which changed his outlook on his situation entirely (The Hanged Man).

The wolf found the fox to be a breath of fresh air into his life (The Star), and recognized the great amount of joy the fox provided for him not just in his time of darkness but in all the time they’d known each other (The Sun). He began to earnestly pursue a relationship with the fox (The Chariot), and eventually the fox stopped running (Temperance).

Now the wolf and the fox travel as one (The Lovers). They take care of each other and support each other through thick and thin (Strength), facing life’s path together side-by-side as they move forward into the future (The World).
