Brief Then Gone

A little snow
is better than none
with frozen temps
and feathery frost
and tiny snowflakes
mean and sharp
they sting the skin
as they land
and in the night
it’ll freeze hard
the sidewalks slick
for half a day
until the rain comes
and melts it away
