Patience comes
in fits and starts
as waiting
carries on
for what feels
like hours
and seconds
tick by
feeling like weeks
as people cough
and shift
in their seats
as heat rises
and we all look
for something
to focus on
than each other

❤️ Self Care Saturday (On a Sunday)
These Saturday readings are (not usually) bearing in on any one thing or event in my life, as the question used is asking for a more general outlook. This is a self care exercise, and is not meant as a predictive reading… although that, too, happens on occasion.
The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?
Earth – Strength – You will be able to get others on board with what you want more easily this week if you make sure to look at things from their perspective instead of your own when trying to persuade them.
Air – Ten of Swords – All is not lost, even when things look like they’re at their worst. If you fall down, just take a moment to catch your breath and allow others to soothe your wounds before trying to rise again.
Water – The Star – Optimism is an important element to keeping you out of depression’s pit. Don’t allow your emotions this week to pull you out of hope’s reach.
Fire – Temperance Rx – You may need to push a little bit to get caught up after the setbacks from last week.
Waning – Child and Dog – J needs a little time on his own to figure out what he’s going to do. Give him the space he needs this week. He’ll be back when he’s ready.
Waxing – Anchor and Mice – Things are going to be feeling a bit less stable this week, as stress and other influences eat away at your feelings of stability and security.
Take Away – Don’t let the need to push and get things done disrupt your efforts to keep yourself uplifted. Optimism and positivity have a valuable place in your life to help you find balance… even during times when you need to work a bit more and push a bit harder.

Loving Guidance
Today’s meditation was skipped.
Today’s draw is the King of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of a projective alpha energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s emotions, relationships, creativity, and intuition. This often translates into themes that have to do with strong leaders with understanding and emotionally supportive qualities.
What stands out to me the most in this card is the fact that the King of Cups holds a scale. This isn’t the norm for the King of Cups, and yet it is fitting.
Gideon is my personal King of Cups, and he certainly assists me in staying in balance. Not only that, but he seems to do it so smoothly and easily that it seems to weigh pretty much nothing at all.
Today’s card is a reminder that it’s okay to lean into those that help you in finding balance. It’s okay to need others and to let them in and let them help. Everyone has different strengths, and it’s okay to appreciate and lean on those that have strengths that you do not.
DECK USED: BRITT’S THIRD EYE TAROT

Due to all the drama and crazy shit that’s gone on this week, I’ve extended my time off a few days to try and catch some of the rest that I just don’t feel like I’m getting.

Savoring Small Joys
Today’s meditation was skipped.
Today’s draw is the Three of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of heartache, hurt, grief, and emotional pain.
What draws my eye in this card’s imagery is (not surprisingly) the two swans in flight at the bottom of the card that are tethered to each other.
What I see here is a message about savoring the moment… each moment, instead of allowing setbacks to hold you back from experiencing any joy at all.
The freedom of flight is possible, even when tethered. It might not be as great as when you are free of leash and without ties… but that doesn’t mean it has to be so disappointing that you don’t try at all and stop looking for little joys that make the experience still worthwhile.

Housekeeper day! And I now have a clean kitchen and clean bathroom.
