Don’t Forget the Dog

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Pastoral Tarot - Six of SwordsToday’s draw is the Six of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of moving on, leaving behind difficulty for something better, and letting go.

Unlike the Eight of Cups, which has a similar theme but with an emotional aspect involved, in the Swords suit this theme is about strategy and logic. It’s about finding a better path for who you are and what you want, and leaving behind struggle and hardship in the process.

Here in this card we see a full family on their way, and their boat is empty of luggage.  They may not have taken goods or physical items with them, but they remembered what’s truly important.  They remembered the full family, including the dog.

Today’s card is a reminder that when looking to leave behind something that’s not working for you… don’t forget to take the love and loyalty along.  Everything else is expendable when it comes right down to it.

Daily Self Kindness

I took a 3 hour nap today. I didn’t mean to, but it happened and I’m trying my best not to feel negatively toward myself about it.

Patience comes
in fits and starts
as waiting
carries on
for what feels
like hours
and seconds
tick by
feeling like weeks
as people cough
and shift
in their seats
as heat rises
and we all look
for something
to focus on
than each other

❤️ Self Care Saturday (On a Sunday)

These Saturday readings are (not usually) bearing in on any one thing or event in my life, as the question used is asking for a more general outlook. This is a self care exercise, and is not meant as a predictive reading… although that, too, happens on occasion.

The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?

Self Care Saturday Tarot Reading with the Victorian Romance Tarot and Under the Roses Lenormand

EarthStrength – You will be able to get others on board with what you want more easily this week if you make sure to look at things from their perspective instead of your own when trying to persuade them.

AirTen of Swords – All is not lost, even when things look like they’re at their worst. If you fall down, just take a moment to catch your breath and allow others to soothe your wounds before trying to rise again.

WaterThe Star – Optimism is an important element to keeping you out of depression’s pit. Don’t allow your emotions this week to pull you out of hope’s reach.

FireTemperance Rx – You may need to push a little bit to get caught up after the setbacks from last week.

WaningChild and Dog – J needs a little time on his own to figure out what he’s going to do. Give him the space he needs this week. He’ll be back when he’s ready.

WaxingAnchor and Mice – Things are going to be feeling a bit less stable this week, as stress and other influences eat away at your feelings of stability and security.

Take Away – Don’t let the need to push and get things done disrupt your efforts to keep yourself uplifted.  Optimism and positivity have a valuable place in your life to help you find balance… even during times when  you need to work a bit more and push a bit harder.
