Gideon’s Challenge

Tangled sheets
and dented pillows
as sunlight
shines
through
shrouded windows
cracks in the walls
and dented chairs
don’t look
too close
for carpet hairs
but if you are there
it’s paradise
another night
in paradise

Shining Light Into the Darkness

Today’s meditation was skipped.

AlcheMystical TarotToday’s draw is the Moon card, which is traditionally a representation of uncertainty, illusion, fear of the unknown, anxiety, and the subconscious.

The brightness of this card is what draws my attention in the imagery for this deck.  It’s so very bright that there are no shadows.  Nowhere to hide.  Nothing that cannot be seen clearly, as if it were the sun hung in the sky instead of the moon.

This card’s message for today is to take the time to think through the things you are worried about, identify where you are stuck in a rut due to fear of the unknown, and shine a light on those things so that they will become less intimating and more manageable.

Questions for May 14th thru 16th

Messages From the Ancestors Oracle and The Zenned Out Journey TarotWhat has been my foundational experience with love?

Five of Pentacles and Earth – Scarcity of love, support, and stability while growing up, perpetuated by those that should love you unconditionally.

What kind of people am I attracted to?

Nine of Swords and Caregiver – Those supportive of my mental health struggles. While I don’t need someone to hold my hand all the time, when I am struggling with a major depressive episode, I require people around me that are willing to be both patient and supportive.

What kind of people do I attract?

Ten of Cups and Holy One – You attract those that want to be a part of things. Those that respect your spiritual path and help in supporting your pursuit of personal happiness that includes them in the mix.

AlcheMystical TarotHow will this Spring Cleaning impact me?

Six of Water and Eight of Air – It will provide an opportunity to reconnect with things in the past that you have previously been willfully blind to.

How can I nurture myself so that I can release all that I can right now?

The Hanged Man and Eight of Fire – Remember that one perspective is never the only perspective. Don’t jump to conclusions too quickly.  Instead, take the time needed to consider multiple angles before acting.

Daily Self Kindness

I’m still playing catch up.  I know that I got a lot of rest during this stretch of time off, though.

Take a moment
to slide down
to ass on damp log
and let air
flow in
and out
as you catch
your breath
and stare up
through draping
bits of green
to watch
the golden glow
of day’s end
begin to fade

Pity Parties Are Not Productive

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Kittycorn TarotToday’s draw is the Eight of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of willful ignorance, self imposed struggle or restraint, self limiting beliefs, negative inner narratives, self pity, and victimized mentality.

The imagery in today’s car is about drama… so much drama.  It’s about the idea that when you are too wrapped up in the drama, it can blind you to the truth of the situation and the world around you as a whole.

Don’t allow feelings of upheaval, self pity, and negativity hold you back from seeing the path forward.  Take a moment to breathe and untangle yourself from the drama and upheaval it causes within you, so that you can look at things more clearly.

Question: How can I foster more motivation to get things done in my life?

Vintage Cartoon Post Card Set and Japanese Anime TarotReading Summary: There is a lot of color in the base card for today’s reading. The other cards in the reading are then bringing certain colors to the forefront in the base card. Usually it’s the base card that determines where connections in color lie and the satellite cards then work off of that base card. Here we see it is the other way around.

The Three of Wands in the Six of Wands connect on their own due to their similar color scheme, the arc of stars in each card’s background, and the fact that out of all the characters present in this reading they are the only two not looking directly at the viewer. This then connects with Sailor Moon herself and the skirt of the Sailor Mars character on the right.  The combination of S Moon and S Mars, joined with these two cards, speaks of finding a balance between one’s inner compass and what social expectations.

The Magician is blue dominant, and connects with the Sailor Mercury on the left in Sailor Moon’s entourage. The two characters even have a similar smile.  Sailor Mercury’s personality is quite timid, quiet, and peace loving. Connected to the Magician card, we see here a need to keep one’s ego in check.

Furthermore, the character in the Six of Wands it’s looking directly up into the Sailor Moon card and all of the characters collected there, drawing attention to the fact that comrade can be a powerful motivator. The Three of Wands, meanwhile, is looking away and towards the past as if to say you can’t depend on others for everything when following your own path.

Take Away: The answer in these cards is that in order to foster the motivation needed in your life right now, you need to not depend on yourself alone.  Yes, some of it needs to come from within and with the knowledge that you are capable and strong, and able to reach for and accomplish the things you need to do.  But there is also another part that needs the input of your social circle, the help of others in lifting you up and sparking that motivational fire within.  It’s a balance of both that is needed here.

The #ConnectWithYourDeckChallenge Prompt by E Roebuck-Jones
Questions for May 16th and 17th

Kittycorn TarotWhat loss do you fear the most?

The Sun and Eight of Pentacles – I fear the depression coming in and stealing away everything that I’ve worked so hard for in life. It’s so easy when you’re in the pit and there is no light and it looks like there is no future for anything except the darkness you feel eating away at you inside to give in and let go. Should I give in and let go I would lose everything.

This isn’t about suicide, although I’ve had far more than enough of that urge in my past. It’s about giving up and just allowing the depression to swallow me whole, which in turn would cause my life to implode.

What is a better way to confront and/or deal with fear of loss?

Six of Swords and King of Cups – It doesn’t have to be a solitary value and you need to move away from a mindset that tries to convince you you have to do it on your own. Lean into those who support you emotionally and will be there to help you stay as balanced and stable as possible during these times.

Daily Self Kindness

I am playing catch up at the moment, so I don’t exactly remember what my self care was for today.  It was my second day in my time off, though.

Lunar Eclipse In Scorpio Lenormand Reading

Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio Reading with the Pure Colors Lenormand

What are you being asked to release with this eclipse?

Whip and Sun – The concept of self flagellation is somehow good for you. Being cruel to yourself does not make you stronger, nor will it help you in becoming a better  or happier person. Although this concept was ground into you in your youth, it’s time to let it go.

What are you invited to change or transform?

Scythe and Garden – Your balcony.  You have all the plants needed to transform your balcony into the summer garden paradise that you grow out there each year, you just need to take the time to actually put in the work to get it done.

How can you confront your deepest emotions?

Woman and Coffin – Don’t wallow in the depression when it comes to wrap you up.  Keep pushing back against it. Keep working to overcome it and get past it. It’s only through acknowledging it and seeking ways to get through it and beyond it that you can stop it from lingering on too long.

What will be revealed to you during this time?

Heart and Mountain – Keep your eyes open for those that are not invested in you other than in what you can do for them.  The obstacle that they present in your life will hold you back if you let them.

IMG_9846A Gift of Sunshine

A gift of vibrancy
and bright cheer
sits on the table
very near
and every day
upon my waking
they say hello
and ease the aching
of darkness’ reach
and chronic pain
when sunny flowers
say hello again

thank you, my friend
for the beautiful  and uplifting gift
even if you never see this
my appreciation knows no bounds
