Self Inflicted Wounds

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Le Tarot Aux Ramures Étranges - Nine of SwordsToday’s draw is the Eight of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of willful ignorance, self imposed struggle or restraint, self limiting beliefs, negative inner narratives, self pity, and victim mentality.

The figure in the imagery of this card looks as if she is injured and bleeding. There are thorns upon her bindings, and red taints the skin, hair, and even the thorns themselves.

The message in today’s cards is that when you choose willful ignorance, victim mentality, and other negative inner narratives, the damage goes beyond the moment and stretches into the future.  Wounds are created and need time and attention to be healed.  The longer you ignore the problem, the longer it will take to tend and heal these wounds.

Tend your wounds instead of ignoring them.  Self care requires acknowledging what needs tending, and making the effort to resolve the problem instead of sitting in the misery.

The #ConnectWithYourDeckChallenge Prompt by E Roebuck-Jones
Question for May 14th: How am I different in romantic relationships?

Magic Flower Movement TarotReading Summary: I need someone who I can learn from on an emotional level (Page of Cups), and who is okay with having differences of opinion as long as we’re willing to hash it out (Five of Wands). Someone that understands that alone time is important to my well-being (The Hermit).

Take Away: These cards are about sharing and trust. In a romantic relationship, I am far more trusting than I am with other relationships in my life. I need that trust between myself and my romantic partner. Trust that they will guide me without selfish reasons when I need guidance, trust that they will hash out differences with me when they arise.  Trust that they will understand my needs and strive to help me in fulfilling them even when those needs might go against their wants.

Gideon fills all of these needs for me and is, in fact, my first and only romantic relationship. I’d have a lot of flings and did a lot of sleeping around before him, but I’ve not had another romantic relationship other than him… ever.

Questions for May 14th thru 16th

Coastal Curiosities Oracle and Le Tarot Aux Ramures Étranges - Nine of SwordsWhat card symbolizes the Spring Cleaning that I need to focus on?

Le Diable and Admire – You need to get going on the sorting and culling of your collection. This means that you need to go through things that need going through, donate what needs donated and get things organized in order to get the shelves up and get things going in that direction. You’ve put it off long enough.

How can I utilize this Spring Cleaning to my advantage?

L’amoureaux and Pursue – It will help you in getting on the right track to making positive and healthy choices for yourself in other areas of your life. Once you get the ball rolling, it will then begin to pick up momentum to continue forward on its own.

How can I support this cleaning process for my Greater Good?

As de Pentacles atop Reine de Pentacles, Depth – Dive in! Connect with your inner strengths that allow you to find your balance, and treat this as a new passion project as well as an opportunity to support yourself and make positive change. New and old will combine into something better.

Daily Self Kindness

I had a lazy day today.  Other than pulling cards, I haven’t really done much of anything productive with my day.  I slept in.  Enjoyed a nap.  And just pretty much tooled around throughout the day.

🌕 Full Moon & Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio – May 2022

Tonight is the full moon, and like all new moons and full moons, I did a spread aligned to the moon’s current themes as a part of my recognition of the moon’s cycle and influences upon us. Today’s spread is about the medicine within, and brought to you by Ethony‘s Tarot by the Moon series.

Full Moon & Lunar Eclipse In Scorpio Oracle Reading with the Korean Wildflower Oracle

Where in my life can I seek deeper meaning?

Amur Adonis – Remember that there is a difference between perception, and truth. Seek a deeper understanding of those things that you think you know so well, for there is more underneath yet to explore.

What shallow shit needs to stop?

Five Leaf Chocolate Vine – Stop discounting yourself. You are resilient. You are a survivor. And you are capable of far more than you give yourself credit for.

What instincts do I need to trust?

Siberian Geranium – Just because your emotions speak a language that you rarely understand, doesn’t mean that they aren’t valid and don’t need the freedom to express themselves as they arise.

What relationships do I need to tend to?

Cape Jasmine – All of them. A well tended garden blooms many flowers. So, any relationship that you want to thrive needs careful tending.

How can I express my sensual side?

Lily of the Valley – Seek out what makes you happy instead of using deprivation of joy and pleasure as a punishment on yourself.

Full Moon advice from the Minoan Goddess Amalthea.

Terebinthaceous Hogfennel and Catchfly – It’s natural to look back on your past and the mistakes you’ve made and feel foolish. You were young and you had much to learn, and the mistakes you made helped you to become the man you are today, so don’t fall into the trap of feeling ashamed or embarrassed about what you see when you look back on the past.
