Lingering Near Shore

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Beautiful Korea Tarot - Six of SwordsToday’s draw is the Six of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of moving on, leaving behind difficulty for something better, and letting go.

Unlike the Eight of Cups, which has a similar theme, but with an emotional aspect involved, in the Swords suit, this theme is about strategy and logic. It’s about finding a better path for who you are and what you want, and leaving behind struggle and hardship in the process.

Today’s card is an encouragement to get going on changing the things I need to change in my life. It’s June now, and the projects I had planned for the spring and summer are all still in the beginning stages. It’s time to move into what’s to come instead of lingering near the shore I came from.

Questions for June 2nd and 3rd

Okami Tarot and Flower Message Oracle 1 & 2I will allow myself to…

Wheel of Fortune and Primrose – …more smoothly bend under the ups and downs of life. Resistance is not serving, and thus it would be better to find a way to go with the flow instead.

By…

The Hierophant atop Ace of Wands, Mulan Magnolia – … learning to accept what I cannot change. Fighting against the changes that come with those ups and downs does no one any good.

I have the power to…

The Fool, Plum Blossom atop Wish – …let my inner child have more space to breathe and experience things.

Because…

Seven of Cups and Camellia – …kindness, including self-kindness, is a choice. If I want to instill more fun and carefree play into my life, I can do so… and it will be very good for me if I do.  I just have to make the choice.

Seek Light Tarot Spread with the Beautiful Korea Tarot

What steps could I take toward improving myself, my life or something I struggle with?

Stop ignoring the problem (Eight of Swords Rx), and fight (Five of Swords) to get yourself back on track (The World).

This is about stagnancy, and the fact that I’m dawdling on the edge of depression’s pit instead of continuing to grapple, scramble, and fight my way free of it entirely.

In what area should I be kinder to myself, focus on the good, or treat myself better?

The Sun and Ace of Swords – You’re allowed to have fun, and you need to start looking at play time as a good thing instead of a waste of time.

What personal traits, or strengths, can help me attract the good I want {to manifest} for myself?

Knight of Rods atop Eight of Pentacles – You are skilled and passionate about your work. Use that to your advantage. I love your strengths in this area to lift you up and your passion to provide you with extra drive and motivation.

Look On the Bright Side

Today’s meditation was skipped today.

Retro B(arbie) Tarot - Five of CupsToday’s draw is the Five of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of apathy, boredom, a pessimistic mentality, and discontent.

Poor Barbie reading her heartbreak book with tears in her eyes instead of looking at the freedom she has gained in her break-up.  Here we see the epitome of looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Today is orders day and I’m so very not into getting my work done. At the same time?  There were so few orders that I’m chafing at the idea of just how little came in this week.  It’s bad.  Like… real bad.

Today’s card is to look on the bright side.  Stop grousing about the work, and then about the lack of orders.  You’re literally bitching about both sides of the coin here. Turn those complaints around and look at what you still have and what good you can get from the situation.

Questions for June 2nd thru 4th

Dixit Game Cards v3 JourneyAbout feelings…

Top Row – Others are always watching. Some will be supportive and others won’t. Some will be looking for how they can exploit your vulnerability and growth, and others will be amazed and encouraged. Don’t allow the awareness that others are watching make you close down and cage your emotions out of fear of those with bad intentions.

About friendship…

Center Row – True friends are there with you not just when there are exciting adventures to go on, but also when there’s work to be done. The magic is in finding those that are there for both.

About loneliness…

Bottom Row – Sometimes when your emotions are out of sorts, and you are feeling alone and lonely, you just need to open your eyes and look around. The solution to these feelings is in reach and the others you seek are right there with you.

Retro B(arbie) TarotThis Month will Reveal…

The Star and Eight of Cups – …how positivity and optimism can help you move on to something better, healthier, and less frustrating. You need to take the time to lean into that positivity and allow it to help you find that better place.

Because…

The Hierophant and Six of Swords – …you need to not just learn a better way and to try it out, but actually instill it into your life as something that is established and permanent. Not temporary or used only when needed.

Learning to Lose Gracefully

Today’s meditation was more of a mourning experience. I learned today of Poppy Palin’s passing and while I did my stretching, I spent my time listening to Poppy’s last three videos where she says goodbye.

R.I.P. Poppy. You were a wonderful woman with a giving heart and far more admired and loved than you ever realized.

Everyday Enchantment Tarot by Poppy Palin - Eight of CoinsToday’s draw is the Eight of Pentacles, which is traditionally a representation of hard work and skill development, apprenticeship, skilled labor, gaining experience, and working towards expertise at something.

You are of an age in your life where you are going to start losing people. Your grandfather, father, Mr R, the number of friends that passed in the first wave of Covid, people you love and admire. Many have passed on, and many more still will. Can you get “good at” grief? Or is it new and fresh every time?

These are the thoughts on my mind today, even as I ask for a positive message. Today’s card tells us practice makes perfect, but that there will always be room to learn more and improve. Don’t give up. Even the pain in life can be a learning lesson for the positive if you are open to it.

Question
for June 1st: Do people need other people for true happiness?

Everyday Enchantment Tarot by Poppy PalinReading Summary: Humans are social by nature (Three of Pentacles) and many truly need people in their lives in order for life to feel complete (The Emperor). On the other hand, there are always going to be those that would rather live in hardship rather than be social (Five of Coins).

Take Away: The answer to this is that it’s different for different people. Some need others in their lives, either by just a little or a lot. Others are happier alone, even if that means more hardships and extra work. Sometimes, this is the nature of that person, but more often it is spurred by past trauma.

🌑 New Moon in Gemini – May 2022

Today is the new moon, and like all new moons and full moons, I did a spread aligned to the moon’s current themes as a part of my recognition of the moon’s cycle and influences upon us. Today’s spread is about the medicine within, and brought to you by Ethony‘s Tarot by the Moon series.

New Moon in Gemini Tarot Reading with The Zenned Out Journey Tarot

Where do I need to communicate clearly?

Page of Pentacles – Concerning those things that you want to accomplish, and the fact that you are learning as you go and don’t know everything.

Sometimes manifesting your dreams takes a bit of faith while you learn as you go, especially when that journey is slow going. You can still manifest what you seek, just make sure people know that you’re taking your time getting there. They’re used to seeing you rush.

What truth needs to be shared?

Five of Swords atop Nine of Wands Rx – That you’re still fighting with the depression. You’ve come so far in climbing out of the pit, and yet the fact that you are still lingering in a sense of dissatisfaction is a sign that you’re not all the way out yet. Don’t keep this to yourself, because those who care about you need to know.

What drama do I need to step away from?

The Fool – Sometimes you just have to let people make their own mistakes. Not everyone can learn from others… some people just need to learn their lessons for themselves.

Where do I need to focus instead?

Ace of Wands –  Focus instead on your own passions and inspiration. There’s plenty to keep you focused elsewhere if you open up and let your curiosity lead the way.

How can I put my inspiration into action?

Ten of Cups – Seek out the things that you know make you happy. You need to help your sense of emotional satiation find its roots.

New Moon advice from the Minoan Goddess Amalthea.

Queen of Cups – Sometimes your journey of emotional growth isn’t about pursuit, but rather about standing still and allowing the emotions to have the space to flow freely.

Realistic Means Based in Reality

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Animal-Wise TarotToday’s draw is the Knight of Wands (Komodo Dragon), which is traditionally a representation of a projective beta energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s drive, passions, willpower, principles, inspiration, or enthusiasm. This often translates into themes that have to do with rash behavior and a go-get’em attitude towards the things that matter to that person.

You know that phrase “fake it until you make it”?  Sometimes?  That’s how you make it.   And sometimes it’s not about faking it but about being genuine and realistic.

Today’s card is a reminder to be genuine with who you are and realistic about what you can do.  That doesn’t mean selling yourself short, but it means knowing yourself well.  Take some time today to look at where you feel limited and if that’s really the case?  Or if it’s an illusion.

Question for May 22nd and 23rd

Joyful Healing Clarity CardsHow do I define strength?

The ability to detach (Numb) from one’s fear in a crisis (Afraid) so that you can lend support to others (Support) and take action to that will get others moving (Move Your Body).

Some people freeze in a crisis, unable to think clearly or act quickly. One of the ways in which I see strength and define it is in those that are able to move quickly past the moment of shock in a crisis, and into action to help not just themselves but others as well.

When do I need to be strong?

When you have an inner calling (Shivers) towards something that you are curious about or think you will enjoy (Curious), instead of holding back in order to punish yourself (Nurturance), you need to cut yourself a little slack and do them (Go to the Beach).

Too often in my life I have been taught that strength equals cruelty to oneself and letting go of the things you want to do instead of doing them. Now at this point in my life I am beginning to learn that it takes more inner strength for me to do these things than to set them aside and ignore them.

Animal-Wise TarotWhen do I give more to a relationship than I should?

Four of Swords (Chickadee) and Two of Cups (Daddy Long Legs) – When you know you need some time to rest and recover, but you instead give that time to others.

When is my happiness impacted by a relationship?

Five of Wands (Gecko), Queen of Wands Rx (Crocodile) atop King of Pentacles (Gorilla) – when there’s a conflict in values or principles where either or both parties involved are steadfast in their view, and thus refuse to connect and see the other side and where the other person is coming from.

The Loving Gift

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Telluric Tarot - The EmpressToday’s draw is the Empress card, which is traditionally a representation of earth energies, nurturing, feminine strength, generosity, and abundance.

In this deck, the Empress card is represented by lapis lazuli and crocus salivus. Two treasures, greatly desired and loved for all time.  One for it’s shimmer and it’s vibrant hue, the other for the delicacy that grows within its center.

This card speaks of the treasures we can find in the world around us, and of touching upon those treasures, appreciating them, enjoying them, and yes… treasuring them for the gifts that they are.  The earth is a nurturer, and it gives of itself selflessly, and will provide what you need.  You only have to acknowledge it and reach for it.

Questions for May 21st and 22nd

Great Eastern Oracle and Telluric TarotWhat am I avoiding that needs to be part of my Spring Cleaning regime?

The Emperor and Feeling Gloomy – You are for avoiding taking control and fail and pulling yourself that last few steps out of depression’s pit. You’re at a place now where you can pull yourself out, but you are dawdling instead of taking responsibility and making yourself do it.

How am I minimizing the amount of cleaning that is taking place?

Eight of Earth and Glory of the Garden – You turn your back on what has been accomplished because you’re too focused on what hasn’t been done yet. You need to remember that everything comes in at own time and doesn’t have to be done on your own unreasonably demanding schedule.

Questions for May 20th and 21st

Telluric TarotHow do I define weakness?

The High Priestess and King of Fire Rx – Choosing ignorance of one’s intuition rather than exploring it and learning to come to trust its advice and guidance.

Our intuition can tell us so much if we are willing to listen, but when you turn your back on it it goes silent. It may speak up only once in a great while, but when one does not give their intuition a voice to speak, it can go almost dormant.

Someone who works to create a trusting relationship with their intuition, on the other hand, can get to a point where they are in a constant state of receiving additional information they would otherwise ignore if they were ignoring their intuition. This information can help guide one in making important decisions, as well as in the day to day navigation of life.

When do I need to be weak?

Temperance atop Judgement, Nine of Earth (Turquoise and Lavender) – You need to remember that being cruel to yourself is not a strength. Moderation of one’s self-judgment can lead to more joy and a greater sense of satisfaction in life.

When you set your expectations for yourself too high, you set yourself up for failure. You then use this excuse to berate and be cruel to yourself. You’ve been taught this leads to strength. If that’s so, you need to choose weakness instead, for it will create a happier and healthier life for you and those around you.
