Message From My Spirit Guide Prompt for June 9 :
Endurance
Daily Mental Health Prompt
: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is the Two of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of crossroads, difficult decisions, needing more information, seeking inward for answers, weighing one’s options, and sometimes avoidance.

I have an elderly friend in my life that is extremely stubborn. The moment someone looks at her (in her late 70s) and tells her that she can’t do something because of her age or physical condition, etc? She immediately goes into opposition mode and has to prove them wrong. To the point that I’ve personally had to train myself to say “I’d prefer you didn’t do that alone” rather than “you can’t”.

That’s the thing about getting old, yeah? It’s not that the elderly can’t do the things that younger people do, but rather that it costs them a lot more to do them and is far more dangerous due to the risk of brittle bones and easy injuries. Their endurance and resilience has taken a hit, but the determination is still there… especially when their pride or stubbornness is triggered.

The message in today’s Two of Swords and “endurance” prompt is a reminder that just because we can do something doesn’t necessarily mean that you should. It’s important to not let pride and stubbornness push us into doing things that might be better done by others… or at least better served by asking for help.

Message From My Spirit Guide Prompt for June 10 :
Transform
Daily Mental Health Prompt
: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is the King of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of a projective alpha energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s passions, drive, determination, principles, values, and willpower. The King of Wands often indicates themes that have to do with leadership figures or authority figures with the ability to rally others to their causes and draw them in to their own values, principles, and passions.

Careful how you use the power you wield. Your enthusiasm can be a boon or a detriment, and the only way to make sure that the former (boon) doesn’t transform into the later (detriment) is through mindful awareness of the effects of you words and actions have upon the world around you and those in it.

The message in today’s King of Wands and the “transform” prompt is a reminder that our inspiration and passion can transform the world around us. For that reason, it’s important to make sure we are careful where we allow our passions and inspiration to lead us, as well as those that join us.

Wisdom
Daily Mental Health Prompt
: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is the King of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of a projective alpha energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s passions, drive, determination, principles, values, and willpower. The King of Wands often indicates themes that have to do with leadership figures or authority figures with the ability to rally others to their causes and draw them in to their own values, principles, and passions.

Passion isn’t enough. Anyone can be motivated by their passions, and can rally others to their cause with that passion and inspiration. The thing is, though, that passion just isn’t enough to lead well. Lead… yes; but to lead well also requires wisdom.

The message in today’s King of Swords and the “wisdom” prompt is a reminder that leadership is more than just being at the front of the line that everyone else follows behind. It means taking the time to consider how your leadership affects others, and how it can either lift them up or beat them down. Leadership is absolutely about passion and inspiration, but the best leaders mix wisdom into the process to ensure all under their leadership are well and fulfilled along the way.

Witches Wisdom Tarot - The Shaman - Death card

Today’s draw is the Death (Shaman) card, which is traditionally a representation of gradual organic changes, loss, slow moving transitions, and letting go.

It is up to the living to honor the dead, all that they went through, and all that they did that we will benefit from.

It’s true what they say about history repeating itself once we forget it. The efforts and trials and struggles that our ancestors went through are how we have come to be as evolved and “well off” as we are today, both as people and as a society.

Even if you don’t do ancestry work or have any interest in your personal ancestors, it’s important to honor and acknowledge our societal ancestors as a whole and what they have done for us, the trials they have gone through that brought us to this place, and the life in progress they have helped us to achieve. We are where we are, both the good and the bad, because of the ancestors that came before us, their accomplishments and their failures.

Someday our strength, resilience, good decisions, and bad ones, struggles, efforts, and values will be looked back upon by future generations. We can only hope that those future generations will learn from our struggles and trials and triumphs, just as our own ancestors hoped that we will do the same with theirs.

The message in today’s Death (Shaman) card, and the “resilience” prompt is a reminder that we are meant to learn from the past, and a part of that is in connecting with our ancestors (whether personal or societal) to learn from both their mistakes and their triumphs.

Oracle Reading with The Hidden Castle Oracle

What supports my life energy?

Celebrate – The “good stuff” is what supports your life’s energy. This is not just about the big moments like birthdays or great successes, but about the little things like pretty flowers and raindrops. It’s about waking up in the morning to a soft and snuggly pillow and taking a moment to appreciate just how good that feels. It’s about stepping outside, barefoot and enjoying the shift of temperature beneath your feet.

The “good stuff” is all the tiny good things that you notice and enjoy, just because you like them in that moment. These are the things that help support your life’s energy.

What action am I allowed to take?

Messenger – Don’t forget that you’re allowed to take your time before answering or responding. You are allowed to gather your thoughts and consider what needs to be said rather than just reacting with what comes to your tongue first.

Even when you are being pushed for an answer, that doesn’t mean it has to be given immediately. Take your time and formulate an answer rather than risking misunderstanding by popping off in the moment.

Which ritual can I perform at sunrise?

Grain Store – Eat and hydrate. Take care of your physical body and build up your reserves for the day ahead. Your body needs to fuel and hydration in order to perform at its best, and a couple protein bars with some water is not enough. If you want your energy to sustain you throughout the day ahead, you need to start with a higher quality of fuel first thing in the morning.

What calls for more playfulness in my life?

Vigilance – Consider that when you identify someone who does not have your best interest at heart that they could be fun to play with as long as you don’t fall under their spell.

Think of telemarketers and scammers, for example, and how Miss B enjoys toying with them rather than simply hanging up on them. She gets a great deal of joy from doing this. It’s possible that you could discover a great deal of playful joy from doing something similar with those that don’t have your best interest at heart.

If you want to find the spark that allows you to explore new passions and the motivation to actually step into that energy of exploration, you need to identify these bad habits and look at leaving them behind.

Jonasa Jaus Tarot 9th Edition - Knight of Pentacles

Today’s draw is the Knight of Pentacles, which is traditionally a representation of an active, projective beta energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s finances, resources, health, home, labors, and manifestations. This often translates into a slow moving but determinedly forward moving energy, personality, or person that has their eye on the prize regardless of the slow and steady speed they may be moving at.

Too often many of us see courage, as charging forward, big actions, and something showy that all will see and admire.

The thing is, though, courage is often quiet and strong. It’s standing firm in one’s beliefs and values, even when we’re scared or being intimidated. It’s creating a space of calm and stability in the middle of chaos.

Showy courage is a sight to see and admired, but quiet courage is the kind that even though it often goes unnoticed, nurtures strength in others instead of glorifying the self.

The message in today’s Knight of Pentacles and the “courage” prompt is a reminder that just because we don’t take on our challenges with a lion’s roar doesn’t mean that we’re not courageous. That we’re taking them on at all shows courage, no matter how we go about it.

Oracle Reading with Le Carte Divinatorie dei Sogni by Laura Tuan

How is the rise of summer energies manifesting in my life?

Unione and Laing

Your relationship with your long-term partner is preparing for transformation. Although it is early stages, a shift is in the air. Don’t be fearful of these changes, for they will bring with them both a freeing breath of fresh air and an even greater sense of connection.

How can I harness these summer energies for my purposes?

Fuoco

Allow yourself to get carried away in the spark of passion when it ignites. Sometimes it’s in the heat of things where transformation plants its seeds. Remember that your partner is a steadfast and steady part of your life, and that’s not going to change. His love and support is there for you through any explorations you want to embark upon.

Where would I be best served in directing these energies throughout the summer months?

Orto Giardino and Animale Domestico

Allow the gardener to do the gardening. You don’t have to be in charge in this, only express your wants and needs then follow his lead. He is eager to nurture you in any way he can, you just need to express your wants and needs to him to get the ball rolling in that direction.

: Where can I release tension or overthinking?

Tarot Reading with the Jonasa Jaus Tarot 9th Edition

Reading Summary: When you push yourself too hard with your ambitions (Knight of Swords/Snapdragon), you make yourself want to bail on everything (Eight of Cups/Daisy) and run away (The Chariot Rx/Feverfew). Remember that there’s only so much you can do (The Magician/Mistletoe).

Take Away: A lot of the tension and overthinking that happens in your life is due to the fact that you’re overwhelming yourself with too many responsibilities and obligations. You then feel trapped and struggle under that feeling, twisting this way and that in an effort to make it “okay” to fail in those responsibilities or let people down concerning the obligations involved.

If you want release from this tension and overthinking, it would be better to use your good judgement to hand off some of those responsibilities and obligations to others. By delegating, these things still get done but don’t have to be a part of your purview.

❤️ Self Care Saturday (On a Sunday)

These Saturday readings are (not usually) bearing in on any one thing or event in my life, as the question used is asking for a more general outlook. This is a self care exercise, and is not meant as a predictive reading… although that, too, happens on occasion.

The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?

Self Care Saturday Tarot Reading with the Oculus & Serpentibus Tarot and Tempus Fugit Lenormand

EarthPage of Wands – Don’t worry if you don’t know everything; that’s supposed to be part of the fun.

AirSix of Pentacles (tipped right) – Generosity is going to be more of an obstacle or detriment than it will be a boon this week. It might be best to skip it where you can.

WaterThe Magician – You have the tools you need to keep your emotions in balance. Gideon is on vacation, not disappeared from your life. He’s within an easy reach when you need him, as is your meditation practice, playing in the soil in your garden, and other such tools that help you stay on an even keel.

FireQueen of Wands Rx – Focus on yourself. It’s probably not the best time to be nurturing others through your own stable presence and support. You are the one that is going to need support this week, so make sure that you are allowing others to help you with that.

WaningMountain and Rider – This week is not the time to be riding full-bore into your struggles and problems. It’s okay to let your hurdles percolate a little bit this week and not make much progress on them.

WaxingBouquet and Ring – Let others make promises this week. Enjoy the connections you have with others and remember that these connections do not come with a forced obligation of generosity attached.

Take Away – Focus on yourself and let the things that feel like challenges sit on the back burner. You need to allow yourself to have the support and attention you need instead of allowing others to monopolize your time and attention.

I Tarocchi della Foresta - Ace of Wands

Today’s draw is the Ace of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of the seed, start, or new beginnings in the area of one’s passion projects, inspiration, drive, willpower, and determination. This often translates into themes that have to do with budding new interests and new passion projects.

I’ve been getting a lot of guidance from the cards lately on how to find more joy in life and enjoy life more over all.

Here we see another one of those messages as the guidance in today’s card is that it’s the things that we find enthusiasm in and fascination with that create spark in our lives. They are the things that ignite enthusiasm and spark new ideas, new passions, and eventually new projects and endeavors… if we decide to pursue them.

The message in today’s Ace of Wands and the “guidance” prompt is a reminder to allow our curiosity, fascination, and kindling spark of enthusiasm to carry us away now and then. In doing so we make our lives more interesting and enjoyable.

Oracle Reading with the Unquiet Rooted In Power Oracle

What invites me to go outside today?

The Good Girl Curse, White Rose, Silk Moth

There is a wildness within you that is feeling trapped, cut off from nature, defanged, tamed, separated and kept apart. This trapped feeling, isn’t there all the time, but the fact that it’s there at all means that you aren’t listening to (let alone fulfilling) that need within you to be outside in nature.

What kind of resistance is keeping me inside?

Roles Unchosen, Wisteria, African Grey Parrot

You are carrying too many responsibilities and trying too hard to be “human”.

The heavy weight of responsibilities and obligations make it difficult for you to tap back into your “wildness” and connect with nature in the way that you could before all of these obligations became a part of your life.

This is an unexpected and unintended consequence of the responsible part of your nature taking things too far.

Which experience can change my mood?

Grace, Bleeding Heart, Mourning Dove

Gentleness. Too often, you confront challenges and struggle with a hard shell and a warrior spirit.

You can more easily change the narrative, though, if you approach such experiences, not with a show of strength, but with the inner strength to be calm and gentle, even during the harshest of storms.

The seed I may plant

Severing, Black Cohosh, Raven

Remember that the strength you have gained in life comes from the struggles you have experienced. The transitions and changes that happen in life are there to make you into a better and stronger person. Fighting against them only prolongs the suffering, but won’t change the eventual outcome or lesson learned in the process.

Seek to tap into your adaptability and flexibility, instead of standing rigid in your stubbornness to keep things as they are.

What does my body want to feel and experience?

Silence Compliance, Sweet Pea, Hoverfly

Break free of toeing the line of “acceptable” and allow the caged wildness within to come free.

This means getting out in nature more, taking the hikes you need, and communing with the trees and the soil more often. It is only when you connect to those things that you break free of the trappings of mimicry you are trying to project to the world.

Your body needs to break free of these bonds, just as much as your spirit does.

Which old belief can I let go of outdoors?

The Great Protector, Camellia, Rooster

The freedom of being in charge of no one but yourself is something you need and can only get if you pursue activities that allow you to experience it.

Despite your determination to the contrary, it’s not good for you to be in charge all of the time, nor healthy for you to be the one keeping everything together for everyone. It is too heavy a burden, especially if you are not getting any time away from it to seek out relief from these pressures.

By getting outdoors, you are able to shrug off these pressures and responsibilities, obligations and heavy burdens. As a result, for a short while you can just be responsible for yourself and no one else. This is something you need.

Tarot Reading with I Tarocchi della Foresta

Reading Summary: Your downfall (Five of Swords Rx) resides in your stubbornness and demand for stagnancy as a type of stability (Queen of Pentacles). Seeing this means that you are finally ready to make a change (Death).

Take Away: You are beginning to realize that the safety you feel like you find in stillness and stagnancy isn’t actually the stability that you crave. The stagnancy is only a facsimile of stability, but holds no true value. Instead, it merely creates a breeding ground for unhealthy festering and decay.

Trees that cannot bend with the wind will break during a storm. In discovering you are bracing too hard and ending up in this situation, you’re being given the opportunity to dig your roots deeper into the soil and allow yourself to bend more when the chaos of storms in your life come calling.

Sunlit Sprout Tarot - Four of Swords

Today’s draw is the Four of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of taking time to rest, recuperation after a trying time, and stillness for restoration and meditation on the events that have brought you to this place as well as where to go from here.

It’s a proven fact that your senses are dulled when you’re tired. If you’re not getting the rest that you need, your reaction times are lowered and your cognitive function decreases. Even when you feel like you’re firing on all cylinders, if you’re tired, then you’re missing out on providing an even better performance than the one you already are.

The thing is, sometimes getting all the rest we need isn’t easy. A part of that is because sometimes rest doesn’t have anything to do with actual sleep. The recreational activities that make you feel invigorated are also a type of rest. These activities, like sleep, take you away from your stresses and worries and allow you to focus on something that is completely pleasure based instead of anchored in responsibilities and obligations.

I think sometimes we forget that, and as a result when we feel that we need more rest, instead of following our instinct to do something we enjoy that lets us step away from our obligations for a bit, we lay down and try to take a nap or get some sleep.

Today’s Four of Swords card and the “instinct” prompt is a reminder that although sleep and naps are all well and good, we need to follow our instincts to fulfill what we truly need when we need rest and recuperation. Sometimes it’s not a nap at all, but something else entirely.

Prompt : Forgiveness, especially of yourself, is an important step in healing. What is the card you draw saying that you can release in order to forgive yourself for a past mistake?

Tarot Activity from The One Card a Day Journal by Maria Sofia Marmanides - El Tarot de Katrina - The World card

What feelings came up when I pulled this card?

Shame and embarrassment were the first emotions to come up when The World card showed itself in relation to this question. That dog’s eyes looking at me from the imagery just seemed like a whole lot of expectation that I have failed to live up to.

What elements of the card’s meaning resonate with me and this prompt?

I have tried many times to release my feelings around having never completed my education. I got so very close, and then life got in the way, and I was unable to finish.

This wasn’t because of money issues or work issues, all of which I feel I would’ve found a way around, but rather issues that have to do with experiences I was forced into and the trauma that I was trapped into by those experiences.

The World card is all about completion, and that judgemental dog face on the card feels like it’s all about the completion that didn’t get finished.

What in the artwork spoke to me?

I’ve already mentioned to the face of the dog and how judgmental it looks in the imagery here. This is perhaps because it kind of reminds me of my late father’s judgmental stare.

That head and stare stand out from the rest of the imagery on this card so strongly that it’s like there’s nothing else on the card except that and only that.

The thing is, though, in the background beyond the head on this card, what we see is a world of beauty and music and enjoyment. This speaks to me of what I’m missing by holding onto this judgmental viewpoint concerning my education.

My prompt response and reflections.

I find it interesting that I still judge myself so harshly for this issue, when I’ve already accepted to myself that even if I had finished my education, chances are very slim that I would’ve stepped into a career based in either of the degrees I was working toward. In fact, I’d probably be exactly where I am right now, regardless of whether or not I have those degrees under my belt.

Although the areas of study that I chose to follow in my educational career were a good fit for my interests, they weren’t a good fit career-wise. I have a feeling I would’ve been much more suited to an education and ecology, forestry, or something along those lines instead of the botany and horticulture that I pursued.

I have found a bit of closure in these realizations as I have gotten older, but I’m still working on the full forgiveness of having let go of the degrees that I had worked so hard to obtain.

Tarot Reading with the Sunlit Sprout Tarot

Mercury enters Cancer: What truth do I need to speak from the heart?

Five of Pentacles – Share with those who care what’s actually wrong instead of trying to deal with the burden on your own. Those things you’re worried about and are dragging you down don’t have to be a solo struggle. Sharing with others that care allows you to ease the burden on your own shoulders.

Remember that other people do not perceive burdens in the same way that you do, just like Gideon shoulders being the dominant in your relationship as if it weighs no more than a feather, whereas you struggle under the weight of that type of responsibility. Just because you share your struggles with others doesn’t mean that they will be weighted down by them as you are.

Sun sextile Saturn: What structures will support my growth?

Six of Wands – Just because it’s unhealthy to allow others to be your validation, doesn’t mean that you can’t still enjoy their praise. Allow those around you to bolster your spirits with their input and admiration. It’s okay to enjoy being liked, as long as you’re not trying to transform yourself in order to garner that admiration or depending on it for your self-worth.

Mercury square Neptune: Where might I be confusing intuition with fear?

The Magician – You are more than capable of manifesting for yourself whatever it is that you desire. There’s no need to “fake it till you make it”. Just leap forward and do what needs done, and you’ll be happy with the results.

Pause: When am I being asked to pause before acting?

Two of Cups – When you are inviting new people into your life, even your online life, make sure that you are discussing it with others closest to you so that you are getting more perspectives than just your own. Those who love you also care about your well-being, and may see red flags that you miss.

Practice: How can I practice greater patience with myself?

Four of Cups – Resuming a regular meditation practice is a good place to start fostering a greater level of patience with yourself. As is ensuring that you are not secluding yourself away from those who care about you.
