Money & Finances Cartomancy Reading

The prompt for this reading came from one of my Discord servers and is as follows: “This week, let’s look at our finances. I know it can be a stressful topic, and many of us are often struggling, so let’s talk to our divination tool of choice about where we can cut back, how we can make better use of what we have, and maybe even how we can make it better (maybe it’s a good time to ask for a raise?)

Money and Finance Cartomancy Reading with the Visual Crystal Healing Playing CardsWhere can I cut back financially at this time to ease my financial stress a bit?

Two of Clubs / Serpentine –  Instead of plowing full speed ahead on every new idea you become passionate about trying, ease back and give yourself a bit more time for rest and recuperation.  Those ideas will still be there later on as long as you write them down so you don’t forget about them.

How can I make better use of what I have coming in right now?

Six of Hearts / Pearl – Make a greater effort to consciously appreciate all that you have and how fortunate you truly are, rather than always pushing yourself to reach for more.

What can I do at this time to improve my financial situation?

Queen of Clubs / Alexandrite – Don’t be lackadaisical about improving your finances. Pour your energy and determination into it.  You use this tactic to get new projects off the ground and get yourself what you want and need in other areas of your life.  It can work in this one too if you lean into it and put your energy into helping it grow and flourish.

How can I better appreciate how fortunate I am financially rather than always looking for more?

Four of Hearts / Amazonite – Meditate on what you have and find ways in which to better enjoy it instead of allowing restlessness to creep in.  It is within the stillness that you will find what you need to quell that “demon” within you that is constantly seeking more.

🌕 Full Moon in Leo – February 2023

The day after tomorrow is the full moon, and like all new moons and full moons, I did a spread aligned to the moon’s current themes as a part of my recognition of the moon’s cycle and influences upon us.

Full Moon in Leo tarot reading with the Tarot Skrytých Světů

Where is my power during this full moon?

The World – You have the opportunity to embrace transition with this full moon. Use the peak energy of this Leo Full Moon to mark the end of a journey that needs set behind you and foster a new, fresh start with vigor.

What belief, relationship, or habit no longer serves me?

Two of Cups – Take a close look at those relationships that you have in the past felt closest to, as there is one among them that you are no longer aligned with. You do not need to hang on to these relationships when they no longer serve a purpose.

What area of life could benefit from me taking a risk?

Temperance – You do not have to be “on” all of the time. Downtime and moderation does not mean things are going to fall apart on you. It’s okay to step away now and then. When you allow yourself to take a risk and lean into moderation, you will find a gift of balance waiting for you there.

Where am I being called to be creative and think outside the box?

The Empress – Self-care and nurturing doesn’t have to be the same old thing over and over again. If you’re feeling a little bored with your regular self-care routines, it’s okay to shake things up and try new things.

Where am I seeking validation in my life?

The Hermit atop Eight of Cups – You need validation that assures you that it’s okay that your “alone time” needs are changing. You’ve enjoyed the same alone time for a very long time, but lately that need has been changing a bit and the alone time you’ve been indulging in hasn’t been healthy.

Full Moon advice from the Minoan Goddess Amalthea.

Ace of Swords Rx – Don’t close yourself off or hold back in communicating with others. They are clamoring to keep you from retreating into yourself and your old mote solitary habits.

Imbolc 2023

The time between February 1st and 2nd is Imbolc (also known as Candlemas, Imbolg, and Brigid’s Day), which marks the half way point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox, and signifies the transition from winter into the first stirrings of spring. This holiday is about life renewing, but in the hidden darkness of cold months and dark earth. Deep in the darkness seeds stir and roots begin to feel the warming of the earth as the days grow longer and nights shorter. Life awakens, invisible in its infancy.

Imbolc

Like with new moons and full moons, I usually do a spread to check in with myself and give myself some direction for the next couple of months for each solstice, equinox, and other Sabbats. This spread is an adaptation of my Self Care Saturday spread, so there are sure to be  some similarities in how it is read. The focus of this spread, though, is not about Self Care, but rather about progress and my path. The time period is also longer, reaching through the next handful of weeks until the celebration of the upcoming Spring Equinox at the end of March.

Theme of the Season – Imbolc, Waxing Gibbous, Thyme (Thymus vulgaris)

In order to begin, we must prepare, and Imbolc is all about that time of preparation. Rebirth is coming soon with spring on the horizon, and this time of year is all about preparation for what is to come. Whether this is prepping the land with the first plow, cleaning the home, or allowing yourself a little extra care and cleansing… now’s the time to begin preparing, setting intentions, and getting all your ducks in a row.

Like the theme of Imbolc itself, the Waxing Gibbous moon is a time of preparation for rebirth.  Soon, the full moon will be upon us, and its power at its peak.  During this time, power is building and condensing, and we must be active in planning what we are going to do with that power when it reaches its peak in another few days. Do we want to siphon off of that growing power a little at a time? Or do we want to let it build into something bigger and greater that we can utilize all at once?

Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is a common herb that is often used in cooking. It has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antiseptic properties, and has long been used to help in healing minor cuts, bruises, and scrapes. It also has been shown in studies to increase blood flow, and reduce blood sugar and blood pressure. In metaphysical circles, it is often used in spellwork that has to do with courage, building up one’s strength, and happiness, as well as healthy sleep and preventing nightmares.

When looking at these three cards together, the message I see here is a reminder that preparations made are not meant to control outcomes, but to pave the way towards what we seek to succeed at. Yes, being prepared can influence outcomes, but so can so many other things in life. Instead, they are meant to make things easier for you moving forward, often by clearing away obstacles that might otherwise end up in your path down the road.

EarthThree of Pentacles – Collaboration with others is something that it took you a long time to get a handle on and learn to accept. You have done really good with it through the past few months, and need to make sure that you continue on with that theme going forward. The busy season is not the only time when you need a helping hand. Let others around you carry a bit more of the load.

AirJudgement – Working on keeping negative self talk in check is extremely important. All that negativity has a tendency to pull you off track and keep you off center.  Don’t allow yourself to get to the end of your life and look back and think “Damn, I wasted so much time and energy on being a dick to myself that I missed out on all I could have become.”

Water – Page of Cups Rx atop Six of Cups – Experiences from your past are weighing heavily on you right now. Stop trying to push these feelings away or they will impact your creativity. Deal with them instead.

Fire – Eight of Wands Rx – You may be moving slowly at the moment, but still moving forward. Take things one step at a time so that you don’t allow slow movement to turn into stillness and stagnancy.

Waning – The Soothsayer and Standing Stone – Step aside for a bit concerning your explorations in mediumship. Just as you can’t be “on” all the time with your work and responsibilities, neither can you allow yourself to be “on” all the time in this journey. Down time is needed so that you can stay strong..

Waxing – The Dusk Child and Moon – Help yourself to better navigate the encroaching darkness instead of ignoring its approach.

Take Away – There is an impressive amount of prominently phallic symbols in this reading, speaking of your renewed vigor and encouraging you to enjoy it to its fullest.

Imbolc Lenormand Reading

Imbolc Lenormand Reading with the Carta Mundi Lenormand

To be left in the dark.

Book and Moon – Interesting that these are the exact same two cards that were handed to me as being what to focus on this week in my self-care Saturday reading… inverted. Here you are being told that focusing too hard on your mental health issues could be a problem.

What will the light bring?

Rider and Sun – There is a need to lean into optimism and positivity more deeply, and in doing so it will perpetuate itself. Just like a smile is contagious, so too can that positivity and optimism spread to other parts of your life and permeate them if you make an effort to allow it to do so.

Intention needed for my body.

Cross and Anchor – Make sure that you are doing the practices that you know help you in grounding your chronic pain issues. Physiotherapy. Yoga. Meditation, and the extra stretching. Treating the scars with emollients. All of it is a part of the process that keeps your pain under control.

Intentions needed for my Spirit.

Broom and Ring –  Don’t punish yourself for breaking obligations that are no longer working for you. Just end of them and move on.

Healing advice.

Garden and Birds – Spend more time with others. It’s good for you right now.

Finding Rest Cartomancy Reading

The prompt for this reading came from one of my Discord servers and is as follows: “Let’s ask our divination tool of choice how we can better find rest in our lives, what we need a break from, and how we can get more of the downtime we need!

Standarte 1815 Playing CardsWhat do I need a break from?

King of Hearts and Ten of Spades – Subdrop. Mini-death-and-rebirth moments of misery that lie at Gideon’s feet. There’s been a bit of a struggle with this lately and avoidance because of it. Maybe it’s time to try something new for a bit rather than going onward with the same.

How can I better find rest in my life?

Ace of Spades and Queen of Diamonds – Communicate your needs clearly and allow others to help in fulfilling them. You don’t have to deal with everything all on your own all the time.  Let others assist you in finding the answers you need.

How can I get more of the down time I need?

Eight of Hearts and Four of Diamonds – Put down “want to” efforts and focus on only the “need to” things on your list for a while. Pressuring yourself into doing more just because you can doesn’t make it good or healthy for you.

How can I get the most benefit out of my down time?

Nine of Spades atop Two of Diamonds – Do not allow your worries and anxieties to drive you into unbalanced behaviors.

Don’t Wanna Know Lenormand Reading

Blue Night Lenormand

Something you left behind.

Lily and Coffin – You have made peace with your loss of the loved one that passed recently. There was some guilt over your atypical grieving process and how others might perceive it, but you processed through it well and have moved past it.

Something you’re doing now.

Mice and Bear – Undermining authority figures is not usually your style, but desperate times call for desperate measures. There’s a good chance this isn’t going to turn out how you want, but no one can fault you for trying.

How you’re living honestly.

Broom and Stork – You are willing to look at those things you don’t like about yourself and work on them.  This process requires an acceptance of your flaws, for only when you can accept that there’s a problem can you begin the long process of transformation and healing.
