41) If you had to lose one of your senses, which would you choose to lose?

Taste.Β Β  If you lose smell, you lose taste anyway.Β  People who can’t feel pain (thus lack of touch) don’t survive very long.Β  Losing sight or hearing would be more of a struggle to adjust to than losing my sense of taste.

Recovery / Regeneration

45) If there was a zombie apocalypse tomorrow, what is the first thing you would do?

Contact Gideon to let him know where to find me (he lives over 2500 miles from me), grab my sister and my cat (and possibly my best friend), pack up a few things and every bit of food I can from my place… and head north. Far enough north that dead things freeze in the snow and ice. Set myself up in a cabin or house that I can sustain long term and settle in.

46) What natural landmark would you like to see someday?

The Mariana Trench… from below, not above.

47) If you had to leave your country permanently, where would you relocate to?

Honey and Vinegar

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Tempest Tarot DeckToday’s draw is the Knight of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of an active and projective beta energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s emotions, relationships, creativity, and intuition. This often translates into themes concerning someone who knows what they want and are eager and ready to go forth and go after it, being socially approachable, and those with charming personalities that are abundant in curiosity and imagination.

With a friendly face and an offer of ale, the sailor in today’s card is out to make friends, and taking an active role in doing just that.

Today’s card is a reminder that honey draws more bees than vinegar. Don’t let your cranky feelings or upset stomach sour your disposition and thus your relationships with others.

Questions for March 25th and 26th

Exquisite Familiars OracleWhat does it feel like to know something for sure?

Oceanum avem – It is the same as that absolute certainty and rightness that you feel when you are being yourself, and displaying your true colors and greatest skills.

That rightness is something familiar and there is no uncertainty there, only the comfort of the familiarity in what makes you unique.Β  That same feeling is there within you when you truly know something for certain.

How can I enhance my intuition through my dreams?

Flamma geodia – Remember that your dreams are unique and are yours to do with as you wish.Β  No one can interpret them better than you, for you know yourself best. If you give yourself the permission to explore these dreams, you can not just enhance your intuition, but allow that growth to move on a path that is uniquely individual to you.

Questions for March 24th and 25th

Tempest Tarot DeckWhat area of my life is requiring too much sacrifice?

King of Wands and Nine of Wands – Stop trying to protect and sustain everything all on your own.Β  You have people around you that are open to stepping in and helping you as much or as little as you want, even in things like safety, protection, and making choices that will both foster growth as well as keep everything from being knocked off course.

What would be a better option or path?

Knight of Swords, Queen of Swords atop Nine of Cups – Foster the dreams of yourself and others by using all that is at your disposal to to charge forward and accomplish your goals. Sometimes, “all that is at your disposal” is not just about tools and ingenuity, but about the people involved that are willing to join you on the journey and carry some of the weight along the way.

IMG_8784Awaiting the Spring

Winter takes a heavy toll
upon nature’s green
turning so much to gray
as dried grasses
and dormant trees
await the warmth
of spring’s sweet breeze
only the evergreens
stand tall and bright
but they are also
in on the fight
with sparse branches
ready to sprout
as soon as the seasons
turn about

Spring Equinox Oracle Reading

Exquisite Familiars Oracle

What is my current situation?

Lacrimosus tralucidus – Open and vulnerable, your inner wounds are on display.

What do I need to lay to rest with the winter?

Pisces vitta – The fear of being seen and worrying that in being seen, you are showing your weaknesses and vulnerabilities that others will want to take advantage of. You do not need to conceal what’s going on, nor use distraction and misdirection to keep people’s focus directed elsewhere.

Where in my life can I stand I have more balance?

Magma lolligo – There is a time and place for the force and rigidity of anger that can help you confront conflict and overcome challenges, but there is equally a time for adaptability and flexibility.Β  It’s important to be able to choose which is better for the situation… instead of just allowing yourself to go with whichever one rises up at the time.

What do I need to embrace with the coming light?

Electrophorus medusozoas – Feel that growing light and reflect it back out into the world as it helps you to reconnect with your purpose. Show others how to stretch into the recovery from your depression. Allow them to see it’s okay and can even be safe to share what they’re going through, and that there are others that are experiencing similar. They are not alone.

How can I best nurture the seedlings that are emerging?

Oceanum equus – Be careful that your well used defenses are not holding others at arms length or pushing them away entirely. Sometimes you don’t have to push to protect yourself from harm.Β  Passive caution is just as effective as aggressive action under the right circumstances.Β  Find the balance in this area.

What will be my source of joy, the bright spot in my life this spring?

Vulpes caudanovem – Your moral compass will not cause you to have to forsake moments of joy and the small pleasures that life has to offer. Look to home and hearth for comfort, and seek out the little things in life that you enjoy as often as you can.

Have a Care What You Invest In

TIMG_9082oday’s meditation was just over eleven minutes long, and I cannot remember a single thing about it other than that the voice was soothing and quiet, and the background music was comforting. Still, it was a nice session, and I performed my piriformis stretching during the process.

I’m trying to get more on a regular schedule for this, but it’s been a bit touch and go so far.Β  I’ll keep trying, though.Β  Some is at least better than none.

Real Talk TarotToday’s draw is the World card, which is traditionally a representation of completion of a journey, accomplishment, moving on from a long journey and on to something new, and harmonious fulfillment.

Here in the imagery of this particular card, what I see more strongly than anything is harmony.Β  Community, and harmony.Β Β  Because of the element of community, it brings me to thoughts of where we want to go as a society.Β  The societal harmony that many strive for, and how far we are from finding it… even though it feels like the world -is- trying.

In this imagery, I see what I long for.Β  Connection and community that encompasses the world.Β  Harmony between countries and races and creeds.Β  And yet, I am so often disappointed when I hope for this exact thing and then am confronted with closed minded people and horrible judgements and actions.

I am disappointed again and again lately, especially when I see or hear the news.

Today’s card is a reminder to look toward what I personally can do, instead of paying so much attention to the world stage that I find myself closing myself off, seeing that disappointment in everywhere and everything.

Philosophical Question for March 23rd
: Is happiness an inherent desire or is it learned behavior?

Giri Game CardsReading Summary: It is natural and inherent to desire happiness (Chicken). But what is learned is how we define happiness (Summer and School).

Take Away: Everyone’s definition of happiness is different, and it is this definition that is learned through experience and through the examples of others.

The desire for happiness, though?Β  That is natural.Β  It’s a part of being human… of being mortal. We all long for happiness, and not just humans, but animals as well.Β  We seek it out.

Question for March 23rd and 24th

Real Talk TarotHow can I better use my senses to tune into my intuition?

Four of Swords and King of Pentacles – When you are grounded and well rested, your intuition speaks louder.

It already speaks through your senses and you are very adept at interpreting them, but when you aren’t rested and grounded, you are more apt to miss the signals or misinterpret what they are trying to say.

How can more easily I move through my intuitive blocks?

Six of Pentacles atop Six of Wands – Don’t allow your desire to please others distract you from where you need to be focusing.

Unconditional Love

as I delve into mysteries
with the knowledge
that I am loved
a certainty never known
