Think Before Stepping Up

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Pixie's Whisper Tarot Chritsmas EditionToday’s draw is the Five of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of tests, trials, conflict, and struggle in the area of one’s drive, will power, passions, determination, values, principles, and inner spark. This often translates into the willful butting heads with another, neither able to pause and take in the perspective that the other is coming from.

What stands out to me in the imagery of this card is the fact that most of the wands are up in the air instead of being wielded by the figures below.  What this says to me is that there are some people that strive to get their point across… and then others that follow along just to support those willful few.  They get so involved that they forget it’s not their fight and they have no skin in the game.

Today’s card is a reminder that when you get worked up about something or interject yourself into a disagreement, that we take a moment to pause and look at why we are worked up… or why we are getting involved.  Is it really worth the conflict?  Or is it something we should step aside from instead?

I took a little time away from filling orders to do some gluing.  I know it’s not really stepping away from work, but it did give me a break from the stress of time crunching and worrying.

Balancing Boundaries

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Yuletide Tales LenormandToday’s draw is the Beast (Bear) and Tower cards from the Yuletide Tales Lenormand. One interpretation of the combination between the Bear (which speaks of fierce strength and authority) and the Tower (which speaks of watchfulness and protection) is an indication of a need to shore up one’s boundaries.

Therefore, today’s cards speak of a need to look at your boundaries and examine which of those you are letting slide, and which you are being too fierce in defending.

These cards indicate the potential for imbalance to arise, and encourages us to get in touch with our boundaries and what we are reacting to… so that we can ensure we are not just happy and comfortable, but safe as well.

I asked other people to help in bringing me food today instead of going for it all myself.  It was just too busy a day to deal with it, and I was really grateful there were others to help.

From Chaos to Stillness… Growing Pains

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Winter Waite Tarot 2018 EditionToday’s draw is the Ten of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of the end of a painful journey and other painful endings, the pain of betrayal, and moments of loss or defeat.

What I see in the message of this card today is a reminder that the holiday rush is not going to go on forever.  The hectic chaos is a struggle, and it will continue to be a struggle for just a bit longer… but, just when you feel like your knees are going to buckle?

It’s going to come to an end.

Will you be able to transition smoothly? Or will you be antsy and uncomfortable when the transition happens?  You may want to consider how to best transition without it keeping you pinned down or making you feel you are…. well, fucked.

It’s coming, and will be here soon. Make sure the changes coming don’t take you by surprise.

I’ve decided to shift around how I eat my yogurt to see if I can find a better way.  Maybe one in the morning and one in the evening… or cutting down to one a day instead of two.  I’m not sure yet, but I’m going to start doing some experimenting to see if I can find a better way.

More To Life

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Winter Solstice Season OracleToday’s draw is the Jingle Bells card from the Winter Solstice Season Oracle, which is a representation of joy and joyous celebration.

For me, the holidays are extremely hectic. There’s very little time for sleep, or food… or well, anything.  I eat what’s fast and easy, I sleep less hours, and I sit still without moving or stretching for long hours while working with pliers and wire.

Today’s card is a reminder to not forget about the good things that also come with the holiday season. The connection with family, the beautiful decorations, the music and celebration.

It’s not all bad. Remember to connect with the good as well and enjoy what little bits of it you can.

Make the Time

Today’s meditation was skipped (yes, again).

Winter Magic Tarot - The EmpressToday’s draw is the Empress, which is traditionally a representation of the nurturing, female strength and empowerment without losing that “softer side” in the process, abundance, fertility, the divine feminine, and Mother Earth.

She may be the queen of the winter wonderland of this deck, but that doesn’t keep her from having a hint of knowing warmth in her eyes.  In this way, it is the expression upon the figure’s face in this card that draws my attention today.

That gaze seems to say… “Don’t forget that no matter how busy today gets, you still need to take care of yourself.”

This is fitting, since it’s yet again orders day, and there is SO much to get done.  Today’s card is a reminder that even if it doesn’t feel like there’s enough time?  Make time to take care of yourself.

I made chocolate chip cookies.  Not from scratch… I just don’t have enough time for that, but from store bought dough, which while not as good as my recipe? It’s still way better than nothing.

Ambition and Strategization

Today’s meditation was skipped.

The Christmas Tarot - King of SwordsToday’s draw is the King of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of a projective alpha energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s thoughts, intellect, education, logic, ambitions, strategy, and communication. This often translates into themes that have to do with professional acumen, authority figures in the education sector, cunning strategists, and those skills that are often referred to as having a “silver tongue”.

Today’s card is a reminder of strategy, and the experience you have gained over years that can help you put strategies in place in your life that will assist you in achieving your goals.

Ambition can be a hard task master, but strategy can help map out your path in a way that takes some of the burden and stress off your shoulders and makes your path forward easier.

Today’s card is about seizing your knowledge and using it to your advantage in such a way. Consider what needs done, and what your next steps can be. Plot a course, and strategize your way forward. Adaptability works best when you have a plan in place that you can then adapt from…. rather than simply moving through chaos with no plan at all.
