What gifts can I offer myself this season?
Accept This – Snake and Clover – Luck is a fickle thing and cannot be trusted, but that doesn’t mean we should forsake it entirely. Hope allows us to have a bit of trust in luck even when it can turn against us without warning. Accept that hope is an important part of the equation and don’t kick yourself when things go awry now and then due to your willingness to let luck have a hand in things.
Embrace This – Rider and Bouquet – Allow yourself to embrace change instead of fighting against it all the time. Look for the boon in the shifting situation and lean into it, letting it draw you forward into the good that change can wrought rather than being bogged down by the weight of struggling against the inevitable.
Cherish This – Cross and Broom – You are being given the opportunity to see your duty and responsibility to others as something positive in your life instead of a burden. Cherish this time with those that depend on you rather than resenting them for the responsibility that they represent in your life.

Today’s draw is the Wheel of Fortune, which is traditionally a representation of luck (both good and bad), unpredictability, and the fickle finger of fate.
In this card we see a depiction of the Mœræ (three sisters of fate)… with cat heads. And, just like the Mœræ, cats are also extremely fickle, so I find the imagery to be an absolutely perfect representation of that fickle, unpredictable nature that the Wheel of Fortune often represents.
Today’s message is to remember that life and luck are unpredictable.
Just like the Robert Burns quote “The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry” warns, you can’t depend on planning to solve everything. Always be prepared to adapt as needed instead of sticking rigidly to a plan that may no longer work due to aspects beyond your control.

Question for January 2nd: What am I asked to work towards throughout January?
Hope – Work on connecting with optimism, as it allows you to breathe positivity and hope into your life. Without these things, life becomes increasingly dark and it becomes far too easy to fall into the pit of depression.
Tides – There is an ebb and flow to life that you need to work on riding rather than fighting against. Work on going with the flow more. Flexibility and adaptation are your friends.
Spirit – Put some focus into reconnecting with your spirituality. Seek out that connection with your guides, with Amalthea, and with your spiritual path. These things had to take a step back during the holiday tush, and it’s time to bring them back into the fore.

Question for January 2nd: World Introvert Day – How can you benefit from indulging in some alone time?
Reading Summary: Alone time gives you room for your creative it to spark to life (Ace of Fire), and the focus to take that spark and grow it (Queen of Fire) into an actionable plan (King of Air).
Take Away: You have a habit of wrapping up so much of your creativity into sources of income that the planning for that further step of marketability often goes hand in hand with the growth of a new creative endeavor.
Alone time helps you in not just the development of these creative endeavors, but also in the planning part of turning them over into something profitable.
I didn’t mean to, but I had a nap today once we got back from errands and dinner. I also got to spend a bit of time with Gid today in texts, which was needed.

Today’s draw is the Eight of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of willful ignorance, turning a blind eye, negative inner narratives, and the need to open up to new perspectives.
The traditional imagery combined with the theme of pokeberry in this card reminds us that opening our eyes to the truth requires letting go of the illusion of safety that stagnation provides.
Yes, standing in one place, still as a stone, feels safe… but it leaves you left behind and alone as the world moves in and changes around you. Don’t let your fear of change or fear of the truth tie your hands and bind you in place. Just like the blood that runs in our veins, we are meant to be moving.

They are a shining star in your life, guiding you forward when things are at their darkest, and ever present to cheer you on even when things are at their best.

Question for January 1st: What am I guided to initiate on this first day of 2023?
Summary: Remember that what goes around comes around (Justice). If you push too hard (Strength), you’ll pay the consequences of that. Make sure in any clashes of will (Five of Wands) today that the consequences are worth the temporary “win” of the moment.
Take Away: You can’t “make friends and influence people” when you’re being oppositional. Take care in how you present your ideas and values to others, as there are less abrasive ways to get your point across that won’t leave you in the doghouse as a result. Keeping this in mind will help you to not just avoid conflict, but also avoid building lasting tensions between yourself and others.
My head has been killing me today and I’ve tried to take it a bit easy, as well as medicate, to ease the pain.
