Raindrops

Damp trickles
tickle the skin
a cool kiss
on the nape
that slips
to lick down
between
sharp shoulder blades.
One drop
then another
creates a shudder
of pleasure
as droplets warm.

and wash away

The Last Rose

Fragrant petals
unfurl
to greet
the dying sun
that fades
a bit more
each day.
Starved for
the sun’s kiss
petals wilt
and tatter
as chill nips
at delicate edges.
