I can find nowhere else
I’m so glad that we’ve gotten some time together the last few days. I hadn’t realized how much I was needing that warm and cozy feeling you provide in these hours spent together, or how much that time creates a soothing balm on my soul and helps me find that place in my heart where everything feels just a bit more right in the world.

It happens sometimes
that moment of concern
as we prep to play
and I look at
the character chosen
and think
“Can I fill these shoes?”
“Have I lost the voice?”
And then we start
and everything slips
into place
and I can breathe a sigh
of relief.
Some of our characters I enjoy so much that when we take a break from them and then go to play them again, I find myself worrying that I won’t be able to slide back into their skin and play them again. That I’ll have lost their voice… their essence. That thing that makes them unique. I’m so relieved to have found that special spark again today and realized that it was not lost for the chars we are playing.

Someone
the other day
called me
a Dryad
and
I was honored.
I had
no objection
and no argument
to give.
Funny how sometimes people pay attention and you don’t even realize it’s happening until they come out with an observation out of the blue that signals they’ve learned some intricate and core part of who you are without even realizing until that moment that they have.
My connection to the earth is so strong, so essential and so very much a part of who I am that I do not often realize that it is so visible to others. It might be silly, but it felt sort of good to have that part of myself recognized and so casually… so easily… accepted.
Value
Even the smallest
of creatures
has its place
and purpose in life.
The key is to
understand
that just because
another
is vastly different
than you
does not reduce
their value.
This is what worries me the greatest when I think of all the species around the world in the throes of going extinct. I worry because each life has value and purpose… and when a creature goes extinct, this purpose is snuffed out. What happens when a purpose that holds within it the balance of the life we know and something else is then snuffed out… and that balance then shifts and the scales topple?
