Leave It Behind

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Everyday Witch TarotToday’s draw is the Six of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of transitions, changes, moving on to better things, and leaving behind problems and baggage.

In the imagery of this card, a group of witches steal away in the dead of night with all that they can carry, following the light of the moon while autumn winds flow around them. One witch looks back, as if one last look is needed.

There’s something to be said for not looking back, and times when that’s essential. Escaping abusive relationships, leaving behind painful or unhealthy patterns, etc.  These things will always have pieces and parts that want to draw us back in.  Good times that are difficult to let go of, because to do so and truly move on means giving up on old hopes.

The thing is, though, that we can’t truly make a new start and begin anew if we don’t leave what’s in the past alone. Listening to that abusive ex’s excuses, or the whispers of temptation on unhealthy patters trying to call us back, will only stick us back where we were… in a broken hope or reaching for an unattainable dream.

Today’s card is a reminder that in order to begin something new, you have to let go of the old.  Let go of those old hopes and dreams that were a part of that untenable situation or behavior…. and instead of recycling them, build new hopes and dreams to replace them.

Mr Lionhart’s The Suits: Revisited #TheNovemberTarot Prompt
Questions for November 15th and 16th

Everyday Witch TarotSuit of Cups – Something I am asked to reflect/meditate on right now.

Six of Cups and Strength – Remember how far you have come, and the strength that your past has provided you. Remember that the difficulties and struggles you’ve gone through are what has made you who you are today, given you the strength you carry with you from day to day.

Major Arcana – A lesson I have learned from the Cups suit during this challenge.

The High Priestess and Judgement – Intuition and emotions are connected, and when you judge yourself harshly and your emotions are affected by this… so too is your intuition.  If you, on the other hand, stay open and kind to yourself, allowing positivity to flow, your intuition flows freely as well.

Inattention May Burn

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Chromatic Fates Tarot - Wheel of FortuneToday’s draw is the Wheel of Fortune, which is traditionally a representation of luck (both good and bad), changing circumstances, the ups and downs of life, and the cyclical nature of life and the world.

What really catches my eye in this card is that half of the wheel that the woman holds is aflame, and she is blindfolded.

She has no warning for where her hands may land on the wheel as she has turned a blind eye to what she’s doing.   This, to me, feels like a message to make sure that you are paying attention.  Inattention may get you burned.

#DiscordTarotholicsAug2022 Challenge Prompt
Philosophical Question for August 10th
: Can we understand good without evil?

Mysterium Game CardsReading Summary: No. We identify good and evil through experience, research (Bottom Left Card), social opinion (Top Card), and comparison (Top Card and directional gaze/interaction with Bottom Right Card).

Take Away: The answer in these cards is that it’s impossible to understand one without the other, for we need to have experiences and comparisons to help us define both good and evil.

At the same time, sometimes we learn these distinctions through society rather than personal experience, but there is still a need for comparison for there to truly be a depth of understanding on the themes of good and evil.

The Rainbow Moonscape #VennoxesTarotChallenge Prompt
Questions for August 7th thru 10th

Chromatic Fates Tarot and Mysterium Game CardsWhat is working right now?

Knight of Swords and Commando Turtles – You are learning to communicate and delegate better in your business, so that you’re not so spread out and are getting the help you need to get things done.

What makes me happy?

The Hierophant and Burnt Memories – Getting a chance to help others in discovering a path that’s right for them, which also allows them to discard what isn’t working for them in preference of an exploration of something better.

What should I focus on organizing in my life?

Queen of Cups and The Longing Scarecrow – Work on supporting those things that you need to make you feel happy and in control.

For me, right now, that is finishing the shelving I’ve been working on, and finding a sense of closure with that project.

How can I make my life more entertaining?

Three of Swords Rx and The Secret Laboratory – Make sure you aren’t sinking into disappointment and self recrimination when experimentation goes awry.

I didn’t work on the organization of the shelves today even though I wanted to.  I just don’t think my back and hips could handle it today.

Changes and Transformations

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Mystical Universe Tarot - DeathToday’s draw is the Death card, which is traditionally a representation of gradual organic change, endings, moments of closure, and transformations.

What stands out to me the strongest today in this card’s imagery is the wings in the background, spread wide and delicate. In contrast with the claws on the blade and the snake in the foreground, what I see here is that sometimes change hurts.  A lot.

Sometimes it can be treacherous and painful. But in the end? It allows room for transformation to step in and begin to shift our lives into something better and more beautiful.

Topics for June 23rd thru 25th

Mysterium Game Cards for DivinationAbout differences…

To Row – There are threads that connect us all, and allow us to see beyond our differences if we’re willing to look. If you focus on the differences instead of looking beyond them, the world can feel desolate and cold.

About similarities…

Center Row – Don’t be fooled into thinking that similarities are all that is involved in making a relationship work. There is so much more to a relationship to what we have in common with the other person. If you focus too hard on what you have in common, you can in turn miss the problems right in front of you.

About dreams…

Bottom Row – Don’t let broken dreams stagnant you, and turn you into something that you don’t want to become. Instead, move on from them to better things.

Questions for June 24th

Mystical Universe TarotI give myself permission to…

The Sun Rx atop Justice – …fail at things now and then. Failure is a learning process that allows us to experiment, and learn through trial and error. When you fail, you essentially learn what not to do through the consequences of that failure.

Because…

Four of Wands and Queen of Swords – … there is no reason that failure has to shake up your foundation. Instead it provides experience that you can use later in life. For each exploration in life, whether a failure or a success, there’s something to be learned.
