Daily Mental Health Prompt
: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Peter Rabbit Tarot - Strength card

Today’s draw is The Strength card, which is traditionally a representation of inner strength, persuasion usually through means of compassion, influence and/or manipulation, and courage.

I did a meditation once that provided guidance on posture during a meditation practice. It spoke of imagining a string pulled taut from the tip of the tailbone up along the spine and the nape to come out of the top of the head, and guided the listener to align themselves with the string.

The prompt “invisible string” immediately made me think of this advice when combined with the Strength card. I might sound like an old lady here, but posture is important. Not just during meditation, but how we carry ourselves is important.

It can be the difference between appearing to a predator as suitable prey or not. It can be the difference in getting the job that you’re going for or not. It can be the difference between being treated with respect by others or treated poorly.

I watched a movie the other day (which wasn’t particularly great) where this concept was really driven home. A man with an antique goes into a high end antique dealer’s place of business. He’s all hunched and his head is down. He makes a trade with the dealer and as he’s leaving, the dealer tells him “stand-up straight in my shop”. The young man’s posture changes and you see the difference in how others see him in that change. He goes from looking like a bum to looking like someone who belongs in a high end antique shop. He no longer looks like a victim, but instead like someone to be reckoned with.

This type of change doesn’t come from clothes or money. It doesn’t come from raising one’s station in life or the job. It comes from how you carry yourself and how you present yourself to others, even when you don’t realize others are looking.

The message in today’s Strength card and “invisible string” prompt is a reminder that posture is a hidden strength within us that helps guide the world around us to understand our place in life and how we are to be treated. It’s something worth working on.

: Where can I soften my expectations for myself?

Oracle Reading with The Earthcraft Oracle and Gallery In a Box Postcard Set

Reading Summary: Can you imagine a future where we are no longer able to recognize even the gentle list of creatures in nature, and scream for help when they appear? In the Anchor card, we get a peek at what that might be like.

Both the Death card and the Forest Tears card display darker colors that connect with the background of the Anchor card and that dystopian concept of a world where nature is so rare that it becomes terrifying.

There is a lightness to the Forest Tears card, though, that also speaks of transformation from the Death card into the Forest Tears, and then eventually to The Shift card.

In The Shift card, we see hope in the rainbow of colors that match those in the Anchor card’s rainbow.

All in all, this speaks of a journey of confusion to order… especially if we include the trees in the three bottom cards which are tangled in the Death card, then straight in the Forest Tears, and then showing growth in The Shift card.

Take Away: Just because something is unfamiliar and scary in the beginning of change and transitions doesn’t mean that it’s bad, nor bad for you. It takes time and struggle to adjust when a new reality begins to form from the ashes of an old one. It’s not just a question of immediate adaptation.

Stop forcing yourself to adjust and adapt immediately and keep going. Change takes time… it’s rarely ever immediate. Allow yourself the time and space to breathe into the new reality before you, and to feel it out and observe.

Only once you’re sorted, will you then begin to grow.

Tarot Reading with the Peter Rabbit Tarot and The Animal Children Oracle

Where am I already living in alignment with what I know?

Prosperity atop Admiration; Ace of Cups

Money isn’t everything.

Yes, money can make life easier, and if you manage to get just the right balance of it, it can make life less stressful. At the end of the day, though, it’s not what makes you happy… which is something that I already know.

This reminds me of a “friend” I once had when I was younger. In school, he was bound and determined that by the time he turned 20, he would make his first million… which he did. And that’s great! The problem was that he expected everyone else to think the same way he did and treat money as the end all God of everything as he did.

One day when I was down on my luck, he told me that I had to “get my priorities in order”. That I’d had so many opportunities to make a buck that I had passed up, and he didn’t understand why I had turned away from them.

When I explained that these opportunities went against my moral compass and what felt right to me, he laughed and thought it was a joke. He thought I was a joke.

He wasn’t particularly happy then, always seeking a new project, someone to swindle, and his next dollar… constantly driven and never satisfied. Sometimes I’ve wondered if he ever found happiness or if he still miserable and pushing for more.

I’m sure I’ll never know. I cut him out of my life and have no interest in looking him up at this point.

What currently allows me to feel safe enough to move forward?

Seven of Pentacles and Boy Significator

I am responsible and steadfast. Through the sense of responsibility I have created stability within my life and sustainability for the life I live.

That often means that frivolity passes me by because I’m too busy tending to my responsibilities and stability I’ve created. At the same time, it is the stability and the work that I have put into it over time that allows me to feel safe enough to keep going in areas where things feel unstable or uncertain.

Other elements included in this reading:
Handcrafted Sigil for Healthy Sustainable Energy
Dried Rhododendron Leaf for Fostering Confidence
Scotch Pine Cone for Purging Negative Influences
Desert Rose for Purification and drawing in Positive Energy

Daily Self Kindness

This is a catch up post, and I’m not entirely sure what the self kindness was for this day.

Balancing Out

Today’s meditation was… ugh…. you guessed it.  Skipped again.

The Fox Tarot Pips Edition and Less Anxiety Affirmation CardsToday’s draw is the Ten of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of painful endings, coming to the end of a difficult life journey, defeat (or defeatist thinking), and moving on.

Sometimes life is unfair. Sometimes, things have to come to a head. And yeah, sometimes it really sucks.  Everyone feels these moments of defeat and as if life is picking on them. Everyone.

That doesn’t mean that life is against you, though, or that you’re cursed with bad luck. What it means is that your life is out of balance in some way, and is trying to balance itself out and align itself along the path you need to tread. You’ve gone off course… and often, the crappy shit happening in your life is a course correction to put you back on the right path.

Don’t forget this during troubled times.  Trust that life is seeking balance.  Sometimes that means crappy shit has to happen.

#ConnectWithYourDeckChallenge Prompt by E Roebuck-Jones
The Earthcraft Oracle and The Experiential TarotQuestion for July 24th + Bonus Question

If I could live my life more creatively, I would…
Drought and Six of Pentacles
…find myself struggling to contribute more to others.

The thing is?  I only have so much time in a day and so much energy to give out. More time pushed into creative endeavors means less time for other people, less time for myself, and less time in general.  Creativity takes time, and no matter how much I might enjoy it, I don’t enjoy the drought of energy and feelings of burnout that overextending myself can bring with it.

How can I balance my energetic output for a healthier and happier life?
You Are Sacred and Five of Cups Rx

Stop ignoring what you need. Treat yourself as if you are sacred, instead of as an afterthought. Your needs are important and shouldn’t be put off or ignored.

This is something I’m working on, although those six weeks of the holiday rush are coming, and as much kindness as I can give myself now, I know that time of energetic drought mentioned in the first question is coming.

Question
: Where in life do I need to be more serious and buckle down?

The Fox Tarot Pips EditionReading Summary: Moving away from (Three of Wands) allowing your childhood and past negative experiences (Six of Cups Rx) to influence the present and how you treat yourself in the now (Ten of Wands atop Nine of Cups).

Take Away: Although you’re taking time off, and you’re working on putting the past in its place, you’re still in a mindset where you’re trying to overwhelm yourself with things to do and that need to get done. It’s blocking your path to happiness and it’s something that you’re going to have to deal with, because it’s not going to go away on its own.

Work at building that severing gap between the present and the past, and remember that it’s okay to go slow, to take time for your self, and to dawdle when you’re enjoying yourself.

Daily Self Kindness

So, this is a bit different from my normal self kindness today.  I made the conscious choice to not get upset and worked up about EA and his super rude, thieving ways. Normally the kind of shit he pulled would really bug me a lot, but I feel like I just don’t have the “oomph” to really give a fuck where he’s concerned.

Building Confidence

Today’s meditation was skipped again.

The Prismatic Tarot and Less Anxiety Affirmation CardsToday’s draw is the Eight of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of bailing on a situation out of frustration or disappointment, themes of abandonment or withdrawal, and moving on.

What stands out to me very strongly in the imagery of this card today is the moon in the sky at the top of the card.  This speaks to me of the fact that when you walk away from something, there’s always a hint of doubt and uncertainty involved.  It’s a natural part of the process.

The addition of the affirmation card for today provides guidance for these situations, providing a reminder that when you are treading into unfamiliar territory and dealing with the uncertainties of what you’re leaving behind, that it’s important to center yourself, and that breath work is an excellent way to do this.

Mr Lionharts’ #TheJulyTarot #TarotSuitsChallenge Prompt
Questions for July 4th thru 6th

Earthcraft Oracle and The Prismatic TarotKeeping this in mind can support me in my plans this week.

Forest Bathing and The Emperor – Be proactive in getting the self care that you need. Forest bathing is one of your absolute favorite activities, but are you being proactive in making sure you get what you need? Or are you putting it off and letting these opportunities to get out in nature get away from you?

What am I invited to create for myself?

Spirit of the North and The Fool – Don’t let your enthusiasm create impossible expectations. Stay grounded and remember that everything worth having is worth working (and waiting) for.

What should be cleared or dealt with before I begin to create?

Spirit Weaver and Page of Swords – Believe in yourself and your capabilities. If you really aspire for something to manifest in your life, you’re capable of forging that path forward. Just make sure you have the information and tools necessary before you take the leap.

Question
: Do Spread #1

The Prismatic TarotWhat needs to be left behind as I focus on further growth?

The High Priestess Rx – You need to let go of doubts pertaining to your intuition. That secret knowledge is always right, always there just for you, whispering in your ear from beneath your skin.  Those times you ignore it and second guess it, it never turns out well.  Let go of the hesitation.

What is in full bloom for me right now?

Knight of Wands – Inspiration and enthusiasm is at your fingertips, you just have to reach out and allow it to actually spark.  Once it does, there’s a good chance that if you aren’t careful it will carry you away, so work on keeping moderation in mind as you begin to explore.

Where do I need to direct my focus for further growth?

Ten of Cups – Focus on what makes you happy and what creates emotional bonds with others in your life.  It’s about now, and about those connections. Not everything can be about “some day”.  Make sure that today is weighed as more important, and that those with you in the now are a higher priority than future plans.

Still in the catch-up train.  So I’m not 100% positive what my self kindness was for this day.
