Today’s meditation was skipped.

Tarot of the Magical Forest - Knave of Chalices - Page of CupsToday’s draw is the Page of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of a receptive omega energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s creativity, imagination, emotions, relationships, or intuition.

What stands out to me the strongest in the imagery of this card today is the bunny’s big-eye stare.  It’s almost a look of paranoia, and draws attention to how cautious and uncomfortable we can be in trying new things or exploring our creativity and curiosity when others are watching us.

The message in today’s card is a reminder that it doesn’t matter what others see or think.  Have fun with your creativity and fuck’em if they don’t like it.

Today’s meditation was skipped.

CS Tarot - Two of PentaclesToday’s draw is the Two of Pentacles, which is traditionally a representation of seeking balance between different aspects of one’s life; such as work and home, for example.

What sticks out to me in this card the strongest is the crackle style background of the sky. The entire deck has this theme to it, but it really stands out to me today in this card specifically.

The reminder for today’s card is that it’s okay to feel like the world is falling apart.  Just focus on what’s important and let the rest go.

CS Tarot - Seven of Swords, The Devil, Wheel of FortuneWhat drains my energy?

Seven of Swords – Other peoples bullshit. I’m so tired of being disappointed by humanity as a whole. They steal away my faith in people with their stupidity, nefariousness, and just all-around lack of principles and ethics. I find myself disappointed by society or humanity in someway almost on a daily basis, and you can often be extremely draining.

What inspires me?

The Devil – My (potential) addictions. Those things I take pleasure in, but need to moderate carefully to avoid falling into the pursuits too deeply and them then becoming harmful as well as pleasurable.

What lessons do I need to learn?

Wheel of Fortune – That ups and downs are a part of life and nothing lasts forever. And that that means you fully cherish and enjoy when times are good, and don’t lose hope when things are bad. Although you understand this concept logically, you struggle with it in practice.

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Máquina de Tarot la Terror - Six of WandsToday’s draw is the Six of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of public accolades, societal expectations, people pleasing, and peer pressure.

Here in the imagery of this deck, I see a very clear theme of peer pressure. Lots of teenagers, lots of weed, and a party going on. It feels a lot like me of those “come over and party while my parents are out of town” movie scenes.

Today’s card is a reminder that you don’t need to fit in with others.  Be unique.  Be different.  Stand out.  Conformity isn’t just boring, but disappointing and dangerous.

Chromatic Fates Tarot - Wheel of FortuneToday’s draw is the Wheel of Fortune, which is traditionally a representation of luck (both good and bad), changing circumstances, the ups and downs of life, and the cyclical nature of life and the world.

What really catches my eye in this card is that half of the wheel that the woman holds is aflame, and she is blindfolded.

She has no warning for where her hands may land on the wheel as she has turned a blind eye to what she’s doing.   This, to me, feels like a message to make sure that you are paying attention.  Inattention may get you burned.

Philosophical Question for August 10th: Can we understand good without evil?

Mysterium Game CardsReading Summary: No. We identify good and evil through experience, research (Bottom Left Card), social opinion (Top Card), and comparison (Top Card and directional gaze/interaction with Bottom Right Card).

Take Away: The answer in these cards is that it’s impossible to understand one without the other, for we need to have experiences and comparisons to help us define both good and evil.

At the same time, sometimes we learn these distinctions through society rather than personal experience, but there is still a need for comparison for there to truly be a depth of understanding on the themes of good and evil.

For me, right now, that is finishing the shelving I’ve been working on, and finding a sense of closure with that project.

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Hilda Tarot - DeathRight, so, I don’t usually do reversals in my daily card, but this one insisted. Today’s draw is the Death card reversed. Traditionally, the death card is all about slow, organically developed change. One of the possible reverse meanings therefore, is no change.

What whispered in my ear as I pulled today’s card was the phrase “Same old shit, different day.” And the question becomes… is that really a bad thing? Familiarity can be a comfort, after all.

Instead of looking at the repeated (and even annoying or aggravating) themes in your life as something to bear, take a moment to look for the comfort that comes with familiarity.

Today’s meditation was just over ten minutes long, and was another of the quiet mediation where I was unguided and simply focused on my breathing.

Wild Unknown Tarot in a Tin - Mother of Wands - Queen of WandsToday’s draw is the Mother of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of a receptive alpha energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s passions, drive, willpower, determination, values, and principles.

In this image a snake coils protectively around her clutch of eggs, the stick thrust through the middle not distracting her from what is most valued.

Support those things most important to you. Don’t let outside distractions pull you from these things. There are always going to be different curiosities and distractions out there, but you need to stand fast for those things of true value, no matter what else is going on.
