New Moon in Sagittarius – December 2021

On Friday is the new moon, and like all new moons and full moons, I did a spread aligned to the moon’s current themes as a part of my recognition of the moon’s cycle and influences upon us. Today’s spread is about the medicine within, and brought to you by Sharron Basanti of Seeds of Shakti.

Sagittarius New Moon Tarot Reading - Dancing In the Dark Tarot

1. What medicine does the Sagittarius New Moon offer?

The Emperor atop Knight of Pentacles – You’ve got this and can stay on top of things, even when it feels like you aren’t moving fast enough.

2. What visions should I follow and not ignore?

Six of Cups atop Ten of Cups – Work harder to focus on the good memories and set the bad ones aside.

3. How can I connect with the Element of Fire to help me manifest my New Moon intentions of the next 28 days?

Five of Cups – Don’t allow dejection and negativity to rule you right now.

4. Where should I look for inspiration when I don’t feel passionate or lack the motivation to follow my dreams?

Queen of Cups – Lack of passion and inspiration mean that you are shutting down your emotions. Focus on opening up and being receptive. Those walls aren’t helping anyone, and especially not you.

5. What type of higher learning or self development training should I pursue in the new year to help me expand spiritually?

The Empress – In the new year you need to take time for self care and make sure you are getting out in nature to replenish your energy and reestablish struggling roots.

6. Message from the Ancestors.

The Fool – Have more fun, you’re too damn serious.

Love and Letting Go

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Dancing In the Dark Tarot and How to Be a Wildflower DeckToday’s draw is the Six of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of leaving behind what is unhealthy or otherwise a problem in some way for a brighter horizon.

The traditional imagery in this particular card is accented with a cracked and crackled appearance, which speaks to me of situations that create a sense of splintering or inner crumbling.

Combined with the affirmation card for today, the message that I see here is a reminder that when things get rough and you feel like you’re falling apart, we need to remember to look to those that love and support us to help us through.

Questions for November 24th

Jeremy Miranda Oracle and Somnia TarotWhat can help make me feel like I’m enough?

Three of Swords – Finding peace through allowing yourself to feel your feelings. Pain and grief are not meant to be bottled up, and no matter how “weak” you may feel when vulnerable, it is through sharing and expressing that you will continue to grow.

What can help make me feel like I’m doing enough?

The Devil – Lean into your connection with the earth. Sink your hands into soil and get some work done outside if you can or bring the outside in when able.

What can focusing on my self-worth do for me?

The Moon – It will shine a light upon your uncertainties and fears, allowing you to see them more clearly for what they are instead of what your imagination and negative inner dialogue has blown them up to be.

Philosophical Question
for November 24th: Do you live to eat, or eat to live?

Dancing In the Dark TarotReading Summary: Food is a tool to good health (The Magician), and has an emotional connection (Six of Cups). It is also a deeply spiritual experience (The High Priestess).

Take Away: Both… and then some.

Eat to LiveThe Magician – I have a metabolism disorder that requires that I consume a great deal of food in order to avoid some pretty dire consequences including hypoglycemia, passing out, diabetic shock, hospital visits, and if not treated quickly, even death. Eating every few hours is an extremely important factor in making sure these things do t happen.

Live to Eat Six of Cups – Fortunately, I’m a big fan of food. I’m also often an emotional eater. I eat in reaction to a variety of emotions, I eat to celebrate, have a wide variety of comfort foods, and no interest in foods that do not delight my tastebuds. This emotional connection to food means I do not just eat to live… but also live to eat.

And then some.. The High Priestess – I am a witch. In fact, I am many types of witch. One of those prevailing types in my practice is “Kitchen Witch”. There is much witchcraft that I do that is not food, but there is absolutely no food that I make that is not witchcraft.

Daily Self Kindness

I’m… playing catch-up, and I can’t remember what self kindness I might have done for myself on this day.

Self Care Saturday (On a Sunday)

These Saturday readings are (not usually) bearing in on any one thing or event in my life, as the question used is asking for a more general outlook. This is a self care exercise, and is not meant as a predictive reading… although that, too, happens on occasion.

The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?

Dancing In the Dark Tarot, Jeremy Miranda Oracle Cards, Power Animals Oracle

EarthTemperance – Take time this week to slow down. It’s okay that you’re not getting everything done that you might have planned. Physically speaking, taking things slow is the best thing for you right now. There is also guidance here to take things slow getting your new card (to be picked up tomorrow) set up.

AirThe Star – Stay hopeful. Stay open to optimism. Do not allow negative self talk to drag you under and sour your emotions. Keep a cool head and take things at a slow pace.

WaterSix of Pentacles – Sometimes the small kindnesses you give others are in fact a warm and welcoming light in a cold night. For now, focus on providing that light, and taking sips of the comfort offered to you in turn.

FireSix of Swords – When your world begins to feel as if it is cracking and crumbling, make sure you are getting out in nature. It is through your time in the shadows of the wet woods that you find peace and restoration.

WaningThe Deer – Timidity and hesitation are not going to be helpful for you right now. Note how the deer walks with caution, how she paused often and is skittish in the extreme. These qualities have their place, but that place is not here in the week to come.

WaxingThe Kite – Spread your wings and seek to look outside yourself this week. Be open with others instead of closing yourself off and shutting people out.

Take Away – The cards for this week are providing me with advice on how to deal with and navigate my grief, while being supportive of others in my life that are also grieving.
