A New Day Approaches

Gnome TarotToday’s draw is the World card, which is traditionally a representation of a long journey coming to its end, accomplishment, and completion.

Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life.  Yeah, it’s sort of cliche, and yet with this specific card landing on the last day of my holiday rush responsibilities? That is exactly what this card is saying.

Tomorrow is a new adventure. A new day.  A new journey.  The holiday rush was long and exhausting and tough as hell… but it’s done.  You survived and succeeded yet again!  And tomorrow you will wake up to a day with NO business responsibilities other than correspondence, and be able to think about other things beside filling orders.

I wrapped up the last of the holiday orders a bit early so I could just relax a bit before bed.

Touching Base… Even When We Don’t Want To

The Madame Lenormand Christmas Oracle DeckToday’s draw is the Lady and Cross cards from The Marie Lenormand Christmas Oracle. This often indicates a woman in our lives of which we feel is a burden, or burdensome “woman’s duties” that we find ourselves reluctant to complete.

Today, these cards are a reminder to call your mother.

Yes…. you.  Call your mother.

Don’t forget that those we love need us during the holidays, even those we don’t like or agree with, or those that we’ve had disagreements or a falling out with.

Don’t let these harsh feelings stand in the way of connecting with these people over the holidays. Seek forgiveness within yourself… or if you can’t do that? Just check in to make sure they’re okay.

Christmas Spirit Tarot - The StarToday’s draw is the Star card, which is traditionally a representation of hope, faith, and the connecting of spirituality to the various aspects of our lives.

Poor little cherub almost got left behind by Santa.  And yet look there… he’s turned and seen the little angel and paused on his way to the sleigh to let the cherub catch up.

Sometimes in life we can feel like we’re being left behind or left out, especially if we’re struggling to keep up with others that are able to move (or learn) at a much faster pace.

This card reminds us that it’s okay to speak up and call out… say “hey!  wait for me!”.  Don’t stay silent out of fear or embarrassment. Have faith in others to care enough to hear you, truly care, and want you there at their side.

Careful What You Wish For

Yule OracleToday’s draw is the Snow card from the Yule Oracle, which speaks of themes to do with birth, emotion, and purity.

And… this card is a little too on the nose for today, and is a warning on what to expect and to be careful on my trip north.

It’s well below freezing (10 degF), the winds are wild and biting, and there’s two feet of snow in the places where the wind hasn’t created drifts as high as my waist.

A four hour drive took nearly six, and is most assuredly going to take just as long if not longer to make it back home again later today.

And when I look at this card?  All I can think is… no shit.

I changed my shipping dates back to shipping out Tuesday and Friday instead of every day this week.  There’s no way in hell I’m shipping out daily with the weather like this.

The Good and The Bad

Today’s meditation was skipped.

A Christmas TarotToday’s draw is the Hanged (The Hanged Man), which is traditionally a representation of a moment of pause and reflection, seeing things from a different perspective, surrendering and/or letting go in order to accept things as they are, and occasionally can indicate delays in one’s progress.

The imagery in today’s card brings to mind the phrase “stop to smell the roses”.   At this time  of year, there are no roses, but if we look beyond the literal?  There is a lot to stop and appreciate this time of year.  Beautiful decorations, cheerful music, a spirit of giving and generosity… all of these things are present if we are willing to acknowledge them.

Today’s card is a reminder to take a moment to see beyond the inconveniences and irritations, and appreciate the beauty this time of year offers to us all.

Making Customers Happy

Christmas Storybook TarotToday’s draw is the Six of Candy Canes (Wands), which is traditionally a representation of public accolades, people pleasing, progress and/or success, and confidence built through public recognition.

Tomorrow begins an entire week based on public recognition and accolades for me.  It’s the only week of the entire year where I ship out every single day, and my orders are processed to ship out next day, no matter what those orders may be.

The Six of Candy Canes is a reminder to take pride in the fact that you can do this for people that are desperate for their orders to arrive before Christmas.  You get more than money out of this process.
