summer and fall
specks of stars
a universe
enthralled
I gaze within
and the galaxy

the future fortold
in momentary wisps
will it come true?
who’s to say
what’s seen
in the sphere

So much pressure
so much demand
pulled in many directions
by so many hands
all I long for
is a little peace

of patience

that I miss
and puppy dog eyes
that beg

a breath of fresh air
sifting through clouds
to whisk away

and struggle
against vulnerability
so that everything
settles just so

for a time

that is aching
