The wind
pushes flakes
to fly by
as if we sit
in a moving car
instead of
at the kitchen nook
drinking tea
while we watch
the world
turn white
inch by inch
and imagine
we can hear
the soft patter
of snowflakes
as they land
Gideon’s Challenge

Gideon’s Challenge
Gideon’s Challenge
Dance with me
among the leaves
on mossy ground
while birds sing
and the crisp air
brushes against
out skin
like butterfly wings
and I will draw you
into the shadows
among the trees
where we can
lose ourselves
in the whispers
of the forest
that call to us
to come deeper

Gideon’s Challenge
Blue
Something dark holds me tight
I’m sinking in the cold blue eyes
Nothing here to save me now
Oh I’m not ready to fall
All blue, all blue
Know it takes me blue
Embers going out
Don’t let me drawn
When gravity stops
Only light will stay
All blue, all blue
Know it takes me blue
Embers going out
Don’t let me drown
When gravity stops
Only light will stay

Yes… I cheated today. These are lyrics from the song Blue by Luamel rather than my own poetry. It just felt… so right.
