Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.
Today’s draw is the Queen of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of a receptive alpha energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s knowledge, education, logic, ambitions, or communication. This can often translate into themes that have to do with the people that foster you through tough love and sharp-tongued advice.
The card has then been combined with a card from The Az 2 Oracle, which says, “Are you reaching for something right now? What is it? Whatever it is… it’s reaching for you too. Perhaps you can meet in the middle? 😉 You know which middle I’m talking about.”
Often, when we want something, it feels like the only way to get there is through sheer determination and grit. We forget that sometimes, all that grit and determination can push us past what we wanted, and cause us to lose out in the value that lies in getting there in the first place. Instead, we charge forward like a bull, determined and single minded, knocking people, things, and experiences out of the way as we barrel towards out goals.
The message in today’s Queen of Swords and affirmation card is a reminder that you don’t have to charge in like a bull to get where you want to go. Instead of plowing ahead, slow down. Allow others to help you, advise you, and be a part of the process. In doing so, you trade the forced rage of the bull for the strength of community, which will get you where you’re going just as efficiently, but with far more value gathered along the way.

Today’s draw is the Knight of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of a projective beta energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s drive, passions, willpower, principles, inspiration, or enthusiasm. This often translates into themes that have to do with rash behavior and a go-get’em attitude toward the things that matter to that person.
The card has then been combined with a card from the LOBILAT Rumi Quotes deck, which says, “Submit to love without thinking.”
I think this is a rare thing; to just submit to love instead of mentally picking it apart. I know it was for me when it came to Gideon, and to a lesser extent when it comes to the rest of my loved ones as well. (I say “to a lesser extent” because in Gideon’s case I was very much against having a romantic partner in the beginning. It took him some time to convince me.)
It’s hard to trust. It’s hard to put our suspicions, vulnerabilities, defense mechanisms, and pessimistic tendencies aside to just accept love. Maybe, I think, it’s sometimes even harder than giving love.
The message in today’s Knight of Wands and affirmation card is a reminder that love is something to be enthusiastic about. It’s something to dive into, wallow in, and not just give but also accept unconditionally. Today’s message encourages us to not let our past hurts and traumas jade us to love, but to instead accept it with open arms and gratitude.

Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.
Today’s draw is The Hierophant card, which is traditionally a representation of traditions, spiritual guidance, long standing institutions, teachers and guides, and themes that deal with conformity and social norms.
The card has then been combined with a Forest Bathing card, which says, “Do you know the trees in their breathing cycle release oxygen and water vapor through mini openings in their leaves called stomata? Leaves can have up to 1000 of these pores on one square millimeter. I invite you to explore the variety of leaves and contemplate our similarities as a permeable living system. I wonder what you notice”.
Permeable means allowing liquids or gases to pass through it; acting as a filter rather than a solid barrier by letting materials seep in or out. That is to say that trees, and leaves, and even we are not truly stagnant and solid. We breathe in air and exhale carbon dioxide. Water flushes through our system, replenishing and cleansing as it goes. Life and living means we are never truly still, stagnant, or completely “solid”.
When we look at the Hierophant, it often indicates traditions. The thing is? Even traditions change over time. Nothing stays exactly the same from one generation to the next. To me, that means that traditions are also a living, breathing thing. They flex and bend, evolve and change. Sometimes over years, and other times over centuries… but it happens all the same.
The message in today’s Hierophant and affirmation cards is a reminder that life isn’t meant to stagnate. It’s meant to move and flow. Sometimes that flow is quick, and other times it’s a glacier’s pace… but it’s still movement. Stagnancy is not the answer, flexibility and movement is.
