Promises
Tiny tree tops
stretch
above
tangled weeds
towards fluff
that fills the sky
like
whipped topping
promising shade
and maybe
rain
Maybe.

Gideon’s Challenge
To Refresh
Blue skies
of a different sort
layered
upon gray
and tufts of white
over blue mountains
and the awakening
green
of a new spring
rain is coming
and the trees reach
straining tall
in search of
refreshing drops

Weekly Creativity Prompt – The Dollhouse
Prompt: Pull (at least) three cards and use them to tell us about what it would be like to live in a dollhouse.
At first I thought this is a really good idea and I thought it would be a lot of fun (The Fool). I was really eager to hop right in and get going and have the time of my life with this new experience (The Sun).
I threw myself into moving into the dollhouse with a full bore attitude (The Chariot) and happily began plotting my future within this wonderful little nest (The Lovers).
Everything was cute and I loved it so much, but then some time passed. I started to get comfortable and some of the excitement wore off (The Hanged man), and I came to realize something was horribly, outrageously WRONG! There’s no food!!! (The Tower)

The Renewal
Bright green leaves
unfurl
as blades of grass
reach skyward
towards shining sun
and brightening sky
as what was once
gold and brown
begins to fill
with color
once more.

Imagination’s Playground
Flying pigs
and running rabbits
fish chasing fish
and little trumpets
on the grass
we make up stories
as we stare
at blue expanse
dotted
with the characters
of the stories
we tell

Meadow Giggles
Bright yellow
greetings
spot the green
with open invitations
to lie down
among the blades
and listen
to the whispers
of gossiping flowers
before winds of change
lift delicate
eager tufts
to float away
