Summer’s whisper
sighs ‘goodbye’
and leaves behind
swirling shades
of bright sunsets
and blue dusk.
Civilization
twinkles like stars
in the darkness
a sky of
shimmering light
stretching out
over land.
A little whimsy
a bit of fun
a little cuteness
never hurt anyone
Sometimes we need
to just let go
a little giggle
can be hard won
Let your laughter
clear the air
and let your smile
spark creative flair
Tendrils
of smoke
create a moment
of needed peace
as scents
of cedar smoke
swirl in the air
and breathing in
brings to mind
forest walks
beneath
cedar boughs.
Fading green
new bruises show
life drains out
to leave me low.
The drop
it flirts with
every breath
leaves me feeling
trampled,
soul crumpled…
joy’s death.
