Anticipation
Breathless
small and tender
careful and hesitant
yet oh so very
eager
I see you looking
your stare
burning in
soul deep
to claim
all that I am
you make my
stomach
flutter
with anticipation

Gideon’s Challenge
The Snow Day
Let’s stay home
and pull the blanket
off the back
of the couch
to snuggle under
together
while we watch
white stuff
fall from the sky
and turn the world
into wonderous
and pure,
beautiful
and silent.

Gideon’s Challenge
Dismayed
How did time
pass so quickly
when it feels
like it’s moving
at a snail’s pace?
Like a leaky cup
the days slip by
unnoticed
until you find
the pool of
lost time
on the floor
with the careless
step
of a sock covered foot.

Gideon’s Challenge
On the Worktable
Secret whispers
from the trees
and crystal’s energy
a caressing tease
sigils drawn
and scorched to life
nature’s bits
detritus all
lending their gifts
to my call
some will leave
returned to earth
as others come home
to share their worth

Gideon’s Challenge
Temperance
Gathered snow caps
like little hats
and brittle branches
nipped with cold
dormant trees
wait for spring
as the hiking path
reminds me
I’m getting old
aching knees
as I head downhill
make it sure I temper
the uphill thrill

Weekly Creativity Prompt – The Memes Have It
Prompt: Have you ever seen a meme and suddenly thought “This meme is such a Fool Card moment!”? This activity is based off of our love for the almighty meme and how we associate tarot with the world around us. Pick (or randomly draw) between three to five cards from your deck. For each card, pick (or find) a meme that you feel fits that card perfectly.
