Together Is Better

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Animism TarotToday’s draw is the Three of Pentacles, which is traditionally a representation of teamwork, collaboration, shared expertise, and better results through the investment of diverse skills, knowledge, and experience.

In the imagery, sugar gliders work together to create a comfy and safe nest. Each of them contribute in their own way, and together these different skills and abilities create a nest that is perfect and comfortable for all.

Today’s card is a reminder that we don’t move through life alone, and our homes (and lives) are a combination of not just our own skills, abilities, and experiences… but rather they are richer and better through the collaboration of others in your life that contribute as well.

Questions for November 1st and 2nd

Wild Unknown Animal Spirit Pocket DeckWhere are you optimistic?

Crocodile and Gazelle – You believe that by practicing patience and a watchfulness through your observation of others that you can see a bigger picture and have more clarity. Your times of stillness are watchful in order to gain this more diverse perspective. In these times you do not see stillness as laziness or in a negative light, but rather as an active pursuit in expanding one’s awareness.

Where are you gaining mastery?

Octopus and Camel – Understanding your personal needs and where boundaries are required. Holding up boundaries can sometimes be difficult, especially in the places where you need them most. You are gaining mastery over how to identify those places and keep boundaries more targeted to where they are needed.

Reading Notes: In both questions, a water card came first followed by an earth card. This indicates that both in the things that you are optimistic about as well as those you are gaining mastery over there is a significant influence from your emotions, and a stabilizing influence involved.

Philosophical Question for November 2nd
: Is it possible to truly experience anything objectively?

Animism TarotReading Summary: Although we can see things from multiple perspectives, be introduced to new opinions, and even choose to adopt this new knowledge as our own (Ace of Swords), our view is always influenced by what we believe in (Five of Wands) and our fears (The Tower).

Take Away: The answer in these cards is no.  Although through pursuit of new perspectives and ideas we can expand our awareness and see more, providing a myriad of angles… humans are unable to be experience anything from a 100% objective viewpoint.  There will always be a hint of bias to the experience, as this is how we process our experiences.

I paid the $$$ to rent a U Haul to move the new bed home from Ms B’s instead of using a borrowed pickup, et al. It was a bit of an expense, but I think it’s the better and safer choice… esp because I paid for the insurance.

Party of One

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Divine Animal TarotToday’s draw is the Three of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of good times spent in the company of friends, celebrations, partying, and creativity based collaborations.

A badger looking were-person dancing under a full moon looks like a party to me. What stands out the greatest to me, though, is that the imagery of this card is a solitary figure instead of the group of three that usually represented on the Three of Cups.

What this says to me is that this card is a reminder that although fun with others is great, sometimes it’s just as good or even better when you get a chance to celebrate alone in your own ways, instead of following the crowd.

Crystal Tarot (trimmed naked)What major energy am I invited to work with this month?

The High Priestess – With sunflowers to lift the spirit and the mysterious moon at her feet, she sits calm and serine. Through secret knowledge and an awareness that goes beyond the physical or the moment, she rides out chaos with calm surety. Residing in this card is the energy of peace, calm, surety, knowledge and awareness.  These are energies that this month will give you ample opportunity to work with.

How can I best work with the energy available to me this month?

The Wheel of Fortune – The energy described above provides you with a sense of calm during times of chaos and transition, allowing you to react in a more collected manner to changes, undependability, and feelings of uncertainty.

A message your Ancestors have been trying to convey that you have not been receptive to in the past.

The Magician – You are far more capable than you give yourself credit for.

How to be more open to messages from your Ancestors in the future.

Aquarius – Allow emotions to play more of a part in your life and communication with them. They speak through the voice of your intuition, which is always more sensitive when you let emotions flow smoothly instead of trying to block them off or box them up.

How to honor and connect more strongly with your Ancestors going forward.

Stand Up

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Terra Volatile and How to Be a Wildflower DeckToday’s draw is the Five of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of tests, trials, and conflict in the area of one’s intellect, education, logic, ambition, or communication. This often translates into themes that have to do with competition at work, arguments, and the drive to win and come out on top of the situation.

The message here, when this card is combined with the affirmation card for today, is to remember that not all journeys are meant to be easy.  Sometimes you have to fight to move forward and keep life interesting.  It won’t all just land in your lap.

Kindred Fauna Oracle and Hush TarotWhat resentment(s) am I holding onto that need to be released?

Eternity and Six of Wands atop Four of Pentacles

Life is fleeting. Security is fleeting. The approval of others is fleeting. I hate that it feels like nothing is permanent. There is no way go grasp and hold on to those things we love and take comfort in.

What compromise have I made that is in need of reevaluation?

The Sentinel and The Hanged Man

Seeing others perspectives doesn’t need to be a restraint for you. You don’t have to adopt their perspectives as your own in order to understand where they are coming from.

What do I trust about myself that will help me going forward?

Your Spirit Guide and Nine of Pentacles

You are well seated and familiar in listening to the voice of your intuition. Spirit guides speak through this language as well. Allow yourself to trust what you have worked so hard for so long to develop.

Terra Volatile

A card to represent me this past year.

The Star Rx – Struggling with staying positive. It has not come easily to me this year and there has been a lot of difficulties and slip ups along the way.

A soul lesson I was learning this past year.

Five of Wands – How to be more effective in getting across what I feel is important. And that inner conflict can be far more destructive and disruptive than outer conflict.

How this soul lesson changed me.

Four of Swords Rx – It showed me that rest is more than being idle. Idleness is not enough to restore and recuperate.

Something that held me back this past year.

Ten of Wands atop Seven of Swords – There is a great deal of uncertainty residing in the Seven of Swords here in this imagery. It seeks of allowing myself to become overburdened by feelings of uncertainty concerning my direction forward and methods of getting there.

Something that I ignored this past year.

The Moon – It didn’t work and held me back, but I was trying very hard to ignore my feelings if uncertainty and self doubt.

Something I should be proud of.

The Temptation – Identifying where I am slipping off track with my addictions and making efforts to begin rectifying the issue.

Joy’s Gateway Drug

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Blood Moon Tarot and How to Be a Wildflower DeckToday’s draw is the Knight of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of an active beta energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s passions and drive, willpower and determination, as well as their moral compass and beliefs.

Combined with the affirmation card for today, what I see here is a reminder that life is precious and we need to be passionate about enjoying it, savoring it, and being grateful for it.

Sometimes this is extremely difficult.  Sometimes… impossible.  But, it’s important even in those times to look at what catches the eye, sparks interest, and allows us to find a moment of joy to savor, even when it’s more fleeting than we’d like.

Questions for November 29th & 30th

Ostara TarotWhere is light breaking into my life right now?

The Emperor atop Nine of Wands – Your “protective walls” came up out of ingrained habit to hide behind when your emotions became intense. They cut out the light that others love and kindness shine on you.

You are beginning to now be able to lower these walls and allow Gideon back in a little at a time, others will eventually follow in time.

What can I do to be more fully receptive of this light?

Seven of Swords atop Five of Swords – Stop fighting and trying to wiggle away. The defense mechanisms of your youth cause you to pull away, and although those defense mechanisms were a part of your past, and may spring up from time to time in the present, you don’t need to encourage them by leaning in and allowing them to steal any more of the light than necessary.

Where have these contemplations helped me find clarity?

The Magician – Acknowledging that there is a problem is the first step (and most powerful tool) in fixing that problem.

Today’s contemplations are helping to bring these habits concerning those walls into sharper focus and, as a result, returning the power and control back into my hands.

What can I do to further build on this moving forward?

Page of Cups – You are still learning how to identify and process your emotions. This is all very new to you still. You have learned a lot, but are still at the beginning stages of this learning process. Don’t get discouraged and give up.

: Three Things to be Grateful For…

Blood Moon TarotTwo of Dreams (Air) – Autonomy. I am not bound by anyone or anything (other than societal laws, obviously). I am independent and follow my intuition and moral compass, unaffected by peer pressure or confined by other’s expectations. Everything I am and do is my choice, and there is always room to change direction as needed.

Temperance – Moderation is extremely difficult for me; a jagged pill that is tough to swallow. But, I accept it’s necessity and am aware of the dangers that come with my level of compulsive/addiction issues. Moderation is not easy, but it is something to be grateful for, as otherwise my life could (and would) spiral out of control.

Queen of Skins (Fire) – I am not alone in my passions and interests. My passion and drive inspires others and supports their drams, and they in turn support mine.

Don’t Be a Shit

Today’s meditation was just about ten minutes long, and was an unguided meditation of just my breathing exercises and piriformis stretches.

Rider Waite Smith Tarot and How to Be a Wildflower DeckToday’s draw is the Wheel of Fortune, which is traditionally a representation of the ups and downs of life. We all have good times and bad, and the Wheel of Fortune is an indication that a shift is coming that needs our attention.

I see the Wheel of Fortune not as a harbringer of bad luck, or a promise of better luck, but rather a reminder that when things change, we need to make sure we are prepared and on good footing.  Even if “prepared” simply means that we know that some sort of shift is coming and not what that might be.

Combined with the affirmation card today, the message that literally shouted itself out to me when I saw these cards is, “Just because there are shitty times doesn’t mean that you have to be a shit.”  It has to do with not just the joy that the card speaks of or the Wheel of Fortune, but also the blue jay and how they are cunning thieves and bullies much of the time, and yet… also beautiful.

Coming Home

Today’s meditation was a little under ten minutes long, and was unguided. Just me and my breathing exercises and my piriformis stretches.

Blood Moon Tarot and How to Be a Wildflower DeckToday’s draw is the Four of Skins (Wands) which is traditionally a representation of the welcoming comfort of home and the celebratory spirit of homecoming.

In the imagery of today’s card, we see that theme expressed between two people. There is a warmth to this image that expresses not just happiness but a deep connection and sense of reunion.

You know that phrase “home is where the heart is”? Combined with the affirmation card for today, the message that I see in these cards is that just as homes come in all shapes and sizes, people, pets, and places… so too do homecomings, and that it’s important to appreciate those things that feel like “home” as well as the feelings of celebratory comfort and relief that come when returning to them.
