Full Moon in Taurus – November 2021

Coming up on Friday is the Full Moon! I’m a bit early, but like all new moons and full moons, I did a spread aligned to the moon’s current themes as a part of my recognition of the moon’s cycle and influences upon us. Today’s spread is about being rooted in prosperity, and brought to you by Sharron Basanti of Seeds of Shakti.

The Edvard Munch Tarot

1. What self-imposed beliefs connected to money do I need to release?

Page of Swords / Traumatized Child – You need to let go of the idea of that money is the key to everything. Although you acknowledge this intellectually and readily accept there is more to life than money, you still focus on monetary gain as if it is. It’s time to begin letting go of this mentality and allow yourself to learn to act in accordance with what you believe, instead of what you’ve been taught.

2. How can I use the energy of the Taurus Full Moon to break unhealthy patterns that are blocking my flow of prosperity?

Strength / Wound – Acknowledge the pains from the past, and absorb their lessons instead of allowing the wounds to sit on the surface and dictate your behavior. You do not gain additional strength by letting these wounds remain open or allowing them to fester, but you can gain strength by helping yourself to heal instead.

3. As an earth sign, what can Taurus teach me about creating a safety nest of abundance for a rainy day?

The Fool / Beginning – You are already far too rooted in this idea, and you need to loosen up. That said, banging on again and again at old methods will not produce new results, just more of the same. Sometimes, for growth and expansion beyond your current limitations, you have to break out of old habits and try something new.

4. How can I root myself to the magick of the Earth to draw in prosperity?

Seven of Pentacles / Longing – Patience. Prosperity grows over time and it’s not immediate, therefore expecting immediate gratification only leads to feelings of failure and self-flagellation.

5. Message from the Ancestors.

Knight of Cups / Connection – Do not forget that you have others in your life (both physically and spiritually) that are willing to support you in not just your day-to-day work, but also your happiness.

Exploring Joy

Today’s meditation was ten minutes long, and was another of the guided meditations on the Calm app. That’s two days in a row!

In this morning’s meditation, the focus was on the breath, and the topic was about how, when we are stressed, our breathing often becomes shallow and/or uneven.

The guide in the meditation then went on to explain how, during these times, pausing to take a few slow, deep breaths can calm out bodies and minds, bringing everything back into a more relaxed mindset by easing anxiety and tension.

Solara Occulta Tarot and How to Be a Wildflower DeckToday’s draw is the Fool card, which is traditionally a representation of childlike enthusiasm, naïveté, new beginnings, the start of a new journey (whether that be spiritual, physical, or otherwise).

I like the Fool blindfolded, as it is in this card. It’s not traditional, but I feel it is far more accurate to the meaning of the card than no blindfold.  Although, rose-colored glasses would be ideal.

Right.  Slight detour of thought.  The affirmation card for today is “Be Astonished” which with the blindfolded fool sounds just about right. They definitely seem quite taken with the flower they hold, and if they can’t see it, it must be the scent that mesmerizes.

The encouragement in these cards today is a reminder to appreciate the little things.  It’s okay to get carried away with your enjoyment now and then, and to take pleasure in the small things can be one of the greatest joys in life.

Hawk and Knight of Wands

You don’t have to be on top of every little thing all the time. That mentality will begin to eat away at your enthusiasm over time, and can quickly lead to overwhelm.

Why is this so important right now?
Flood and The Hermit

Overwhelm can, in turn, then force you into a need to retreat and hide away from the world. At this time of year, those actions could have long reaching detrimental repercussions.

Solara Occulta Tarot

There was once a thief hiding in a circus. He lifted treats, swindled cash. He swiped candy and prizes, and pilfered jewelry. Wallets in pockets didn’t stand a chance, and he poached the ringmaster’s dinner. (Seven of Swords)

He hid in the tents at night after closing, slunk through the shadows of pre-dawn light, and wandered among the crowds during the day.

One day the perpetrator of the perfect purloin was hiding in one of the trailers when the knife thrower’s assistant came in to fix her make-up. As she sat before the mirror humming a sweet serenade, the music slipped into his heart and pulled upon strings deep within himself that he didn’t know he had. (The High Priestess)

Her voice was melodic and pervasive, swirling through his soul and speaking to his spirit, and he fell so deeply in love with her that he couldn’t stand to have her in danger.

That night he planned his biggest heist yet, and as the circus slept he crept into the knife thrower’s tent and stole all his knives.

Feeling certain that she would now be safe and that he had outsmarted the knife thrower, he slipped off into the night, wracking his brain on how he might impress her on the morrow. (Ace of Swords)

Difficult People Lenormand Reading

Oraculum Parvum Stellae Internae

Interestingly, I had indented to do this reading about a specific person in my best friend’s life, but it ended up being about two people (mother and son) instead of just the one.  This was unexpected, but considering their relationship, perhaps not all that surprising on deeper reflection. I have been given permission to post this reading as long as names and identifying info are not included.

Why does this person bother you so much?

Book and Key – Because he’s a know-it-all and he has the “keys to the castle”. You have to stay on his good side in order to stay on everyone else’s good side, and he knows it and uses it to his advantage.

What stands in the way of accepting this person as they are?

Garden and Cross – Sunday school. Too much forced time spent together, especially when you were growing up.

What do you believe should happen?

Bear and Lily – A mother should treat their children fairly and not play favorites. Wisdom and protection should be provided to both in equal measure, instead of given to one over the other.

How can I change my own thinking about this situation?

Moon and Crossroads – It’s your choice that you are allowing their behavior make you feel uncertain about the future.

Take Away – The two may be “thick as thieves” at the moment, and it may feel like he’s drawing her attention away from you, but this is a long standing sibling rivalry between the two of you, and it isn’t as extreme as it feels. He is deliberately making it seem like more than it is in order to rile you and make you feel like an outsider.

Don’t Leave Out the Good Stuff

Today’s meditation was ten minutes long, and was a guided meditation from the Calm app.

This meditation’s topic discussed how, when we become bored with something in life such as our daily routines, making small changes can in turn ease our feelings of boredom and refresh how we see our routines.

Today’s draw is the Four of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of homecomings, joy, harmony, relaxation and comfort.

The Light Grey Tarot and How to Be a Wildflower DeckSoon, my sister and I will be going to visit our mother. This, in itself, is a challenging situation.  The thing is?  I wasn’t going to take the ferry on my way there this time, as it cost quite a bit.  Not taking the ferry means driving for two extra hours, but is much cheaper.

These cards are a reminder of how much pleasure I get out of riding the ferry, though, and that it’s also a self-care exercise as it’s far less stressful than driving the whole way. So today’s cards have essentially reminded me to take care of myself on my journey to see my mother, and to take part in small joys when I am able. They have convinced me that I am going to take the ferry after all.

There is a bigger message here that asks us to look at the choices we make.  Are we making thins harder on ourselves than they need to be? Is there a more joyful way to approach things that will allow you to find small enjoyment where otherwise there would be none? These cards are a reminder that life is to be enjoyed, and when these opportunities arise, we should take advantage of them instead of discarding them.

Kindred Fauna Oracle and Phantasma TarotSomething that is negatively affecting my current life.
Listen and Queen of Wands

Let your inspiration flow and allow it to carry you forward, but make sure that you are listening closely to your inner self to make sure  you are not neglecting yourself along the way.

This is the only way to avoid burnout, and at the moment, that is the route you’re headed on, as you may hear what your body, mind, and emotions are saying, but you’re not following through on giving them what they need.

What is at the core of this?
Kindness and The Emperor

You feel that the only way to successfully make it through these times of stress and busyness is to be demanding of yourself and push yourself harder. What is lacking here is the kindness that you need to begin instilling into your life, even during the most stressful of times.

What can I do about this?
Persevere and Nine of Wands

Create better boundaries for yourself that respect and create space for that part of yourself that needs kindness, care, and understanding. You don’t have to approach the holiday rush with the attitude of just “buckle down and push through”.

The Light Grey TarotFateFive of Wands – Don’t worry about it. You’ve got too much going on in the now to worry about something that’s going to happen whether you want to change it or not all the way down at the end of the line.

DestinyTen of Swords – Three separate life path readings done for you over your lifetime has made it clear that your life path is one of struggle, strife, and woe. This may not be changeable, but it gives you the opportunity to grow and learn from every experience that you endure, survive, and move on from.

ChanceFour of Pentacles– Take comfort in the fact that the only unchanging thing in life is change itself. You have the ability to root your feet in this knowledge and be prepared, instead of constantly taken by surprise.

What Completes You

Today’s meditation was skipped again.  And I sound like a broken record here.  I know I need to get back on this, especially with the visit to mom’s coming up and the holiday rush now kicking into gear.

Blood Moon Tarot and How to Be a Wildflower DeckToday’s draw is the Lovers card, which traditionally is a representation of making the choices that are right (and healthy) for you. It can also be an indication of successful unions (not just love unions), as well as of course, love, romance, and harmonious relationships.

Okay so, just sayin’? But this is absolutely my favorite Lovers card of all time. It’s so… earthy and magical. Beautiful.  And it fits so well with the message today in the affirmation card.

The message here is to look beyond what you want to see what it is you need.  What is it that you need in your life to make your life a life worth living?  What is it you need to nurture your spirit and feed your soul?

For me, as mentioned both in the wording of the cards and the earthy depiction of the artwork, it is time in nature. Time in the deep, dark forest with the damp earth and evergreens and all that lives there. This is something I crave and need deep within my soul. It is in spending time in these places, communing and bonding with them, that I find balance and beauty in the world and within myself.

Heretical Fates TarotLikeThe High Priestess – My connection to my spiritual path and my knowledge in this area. The sensitivity and accuracy of my intuition and my faith in it’s ability to lead me forward.

What Is NeededThe Hermit – In order to connect more strongly with this part of myself, I need a certain amount of healthy alone time. That time helps to clear out the “static” and chaos of the world that can otherwise become too distracting.

DislikeTwo of Pentacles Rx – My inability to keep things balanced. I am aware that balance is never stagnant and ever changing, but I feel as if I should be able to do better at balancing my personal and professional life, my responsibilities and my self-care needs.

What Is Needed – Nine of Wands – Better boundaries are needed for myself in order to find that balance. Sitting down and taking a look at where those boundaries are needed, then sticking to them once they’re in place, is essential.

Two of Songs – Enlist help. Look beyond what you usually do to enlist that help and go deeper. Perhaps see if Jer can come over and assist (suggested through the size of the left figure’s hands).

Queen of Skins – Inspire others to do more. Remind them of how helping you helps themselves as well and feed their own ambitions in order to inspire them to work toward yours in this moment.

How to End Things

The Empress – Be supportive and you will receive support in turn.

The Sacred Pause

Today’s meditation was skipped, yet again.

Pholarchos Tarot and How to Be a Wilidflower DeckToday’s draw is the World card, which is traditionally a representation of completing a journey and the potential that comes from growth, which can allow us to then begin a new journey (note, that the World is not about the new journey, but rather the end of the old and the potential for what’s next).

Sometimes, journeys involving personal growth are a struggle.  They’re very rarely easy, and they’re not always quiet.  There is, though, a moment of quiet that exists within this journey.

It is that moment at the end. That moment where a pause exists, a sigh of relief is given… and potential for what comes next is lain out at our feet.

Today’s message is a reminder to not forget about that pause.  To savor it.  Don’t let yourself grouse over mistakes along the way and how things could have been differently. Instead? Take that moment to ease up and take a breath, let yourself enjoy that you made it, and look with eagerness to what might be next instead of dread.
