❤️ Self Care Saturday (On a Sunday)

These Saturday readings are (not usually) bearing in on any one thing or event in my life, as the question used is asking for a more general outlook. This is a self care exercise, and is not meant as a predictive reading… although that, too, happens on occasion.

The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?

Self Care Saturday Tarot Reading with the Crystal Tarot, Wisdom of Hafiz Oracle, Hilda Lenormand

Earth – Seven of Coins atop Four of Wands, Use Your Power – You won’t have much of a balcony garden left of you don’t get out there and take care of them. Take some time this week to get the rest of your garden tender to and planted.

Air – Eight of Coins and Take Stock of Your Achievements – Trust in what you know and what you’re good at. Don’t let doubts and negativity sweep in and steal away your well earned confidence away.

Water – Four of Swords and Receive Your Blessing – Get good rest while you can. Use this opportunity to shore up your strength. You are still in recovery and the better you feel physically, the better you’re going to feel emotionally as well.

Fire – Three of Wands and Practice Tenderness – As you plot your course forward and start moving again, keep your expectations low. Take care that you don’t overload yourself with more than you’re ready for this week.

Waning – Coffin and Rider – You’ve been sick, but this is on its way out. You need to make sure you’re focusing on doing the things you need to do to help this illness move on its way quickly.

Waxing – Tree and Stork – With recovery from your illness will come a sense of rebirth.  This renewal of energy and physical health is something you need to focus on encouraging this week.  Get back on track with those things that help you stay healthy.

Take Away – This week’s self care reading is all about guiding me out of my illness and through the recovery process.  It’s about taking things slow so that I don’t overwhelm myself, and keeping my expectations low so that I don’t over-pressure myself.

Let It Shine

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Crystal Tarot - The FoolToday’s draw is the Fool card, which is traditionally a representation of naïveté, foolishness, beginnings, enthusiasm, innocence, and seeing the world through “rose colored glasses”.

I love the array of colors in this card and how they flow with each other in a vibrant dance of joy reflected in the smile on the face of the figure in the card.  There’s a great deal of joy here.  Excitement blended with calm cool tones.

My cards often remind me to instill more joy into my life, and I see this encouragement here in this card in the dance of bright colors among the cool, calm shades of blues and greens.

Today’s card is a reminder to let yourself shine brightly, no matter where you are or what you’re doing.  There is a light inside you eager to get out.  Let it shine.

Questions for June 6th thru 8th

Mystic Goddess Sigil Tarot and Animal Dreaming OracleHow can I improve my time spent?

Hanged Man and Hawk – The world, and those that watch over you from beyond it, are willing to share their wisdom with you. You only have to be open to their take on things. Instead of looking inward, seek out their guidance in this area.

What are my money challenges?

Hermit atop Two of Earth, Bustard – The juggling of wants with needs when those wants feel like self-care. And… a bit too much confidence in your ability to dig yourself out of the messes you sometimes make.

How are my goals progressing?

Five of Earth and Frogmouth – Not as well as I’d like, regardless of the fact I don’t want to admit it to others. I would much rather keep my scarcity issues (whether real or imagined) to myself.

Crystal TarotI will continue to…

Six of Coins and Four of Swords – … take a rest from being too generous when I can’t afford it.  Gideon says that I often give too much of myself to others, and in being generous in this way, I overtax myself.  Being ill this past week has helped me in remembering to focus on my own wellness first.

I will do this by…

Two of Pentacles and The Moon – …being more responsible in those areas of my life where uncertainty and imbalance lingers. I need to look  at these areas of my life with stark honesty and shine a light on the lurking parts that I don’t really want to deal with but could be detrimental to me if I don’t. (ie: bad habits)

Home is Best

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Cat Tarot - Four of WandsToday’s draw is the Four of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of home coming, celebration, and the comforts of hearth and home.

When a cat shows their belly, they are essentially telling you that they trust you or are so confident in where they are that they perceive no danger at all. It is the most vulnerable part of their body, and to expose it in such a way is a huge indication that they are not just comfortable with you and their surroundings, but consider themselves to be in a “safe harbor” of sorts.

Today’s card is an encouragement to enjoy home as much as you can… and I am.  I’m so very sick, and I’m completely staying home and taking the day off, burrowing into my bed and alternating NyQuil with chicken noodle soup.  Fuck the rest, home is best.

Questions for June 6th and 7th

Affirmations of the Fairy Cats Oracle and Терапия СчастьемAbout happiness…

Top Row – Have fun and approach life with childlike wonder. When you enjoy all that you can in life, you will find that over time your life will be so filled with joy, and that other’s judgments and opinions won’t matter as much anymore.

About coziness…

Bottom Row – There’s something to be for enjoying the small things in life, and not letting other’s nefarious ways bring you down. When you mind your own business life can be much less harrowing and far more enjoyable.

Cat TarotI have accepted this.

Ace of Pentacles and Ace of Swords – Self-care is necessary. Skipping your vitamins and not taking care of yourself in all of those small ways that add up over time can lead to a whole new type of misery. Better to tolerate the little nibble-size pieces of misery now as you are doing the things you don’t really want to do, than biting off a whole big chunk of misery at once like you have right now.

And now I…

Ace of Cups and Four of Pentacles – …am newly dedicated to making sure that I am taking care of myself and my needs (emotional, physical, and otherwise), so that I have a strong foundation beneath my feet to help me keep those larger bites of misery at bay.

Take Away: Not taking your vitamins for a whole week was a bad fucking idea and you’re paying the consequences for it now. Learn from this experience so that you won’t have to repeat it again later.

Asking For Help

Today’s meditation was done in the bathtub to the soothing tunes of Ms Ebba Forsberg’s Been There album (which I believe is her absolute best piece of work to date with the addition of the song “Real Slow” on the Falling Folding Flipping Feeling album).

Tarot Balbi Argentinian EditionToday’s draw is the Five of Pentacles, which is traditionally a representation of tests, trials, struggles, and setbacks in the area of one’s finances, resources, health, home, work, or manifestations. This often translates into themes that have to do with scarcity and Times when one needs to seek out help from others instead of suffering through alone.

In this card, the coins look like flowers, and the plants appear to be supporting them.  This speaks to me of that need to seek out help when you need it instead of forcing yourself to suffer on your own or insisting you can handle it yourself.

I’m very guilty of this stubborn insistence.  It’s not pride so much as history that has taught me this is the way it should be, and it is a habit I am actively working on breaking.   Today’s card is a reminder of this journey, and the need to seek out help when you need it. No garden flourishes without a little help from not just the gardener, but also the rain and sun.

Aunt Lily's Tarot and Spirit of the Wheel OracleHow is the rise of summer energies manifesting in my life?

Seven of Swords and West – Time is getting away from you. You’re doing well and resting and are enjoying it. And, that recuperation is needed. But not so much that you miss out getting on top of the things you want to get done this summer. If you don’t start moving soon and get that creative spark motivated, time is going to get away from you right up into the fall and the beginning of the holiday season.

How can I harness these summer energies for my purpose?

The Chariot and Growth – Seize the day and get going.

Where would I be best served in directing these energies throughout the summer months?

Page of Pentacles and South – Sometimes having to be an adult sucks, but it’s a necessary part of life. It’s time to re-introduce more “adulthood” into your life and motivation, instead of avoiding the projects that need done.

Tarot Balbi Argentinian EditionI am strong enough to…

Knight of Pentacles and Page of Wands – …lend my passion and drive to new things at a less breakneck pace than I’m used to. Not everything has to be a rush, and a little restraint would be a good (and healthy) thing.

So I can…

Queen of Swords and Two of Swords – …make better decisions based on my experience and logic instead of just “winging it”. Not that “winging it” doesn’t turn out okay, but it’s a whole lot more stress than if you take your time and do things at a more manageable pace.

The Dreaming Way Tarot, Cat Herbal Deck, and The Dreaming Way Lenormand

Earth – Ten of Cups and Cleavers (Galium aparine) – take some time to really appreciate what you have and where you are this week. Enjoy those around you with a sense of gratitude, seek peace and quiet to help further is anxieties in the areas of your finances, resources, and stability. Much of your anxiety is fueled by your perception, so focus that perception towards the good that you have and foster emotional peace in this area.

Air – Ace of Wands and Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) – Combat your negative inner narrative by taking a look at just how good you are at putting into motion your ideas. Give yourself some credit and allow that to be a balm for the wounds that your inner narrative has created over the past few months.

Water – Knight of Wands and Hyssop (Hyssopus officinalis) – Turn around and face forward.

Make sure you are looking ahead as you move into the coming week. There’s no point ruminating on the past and rehashing over the mistakes you might’ve made. This only creates negative space for pessimism to grow. Instead, look forward toward feelings of hope and what you hope to achieve. Allow that hope to lift you up emotionally. This is a conscious choice for you to make and is completely within your control.

Fire – Page of Swords and Hawthorn (Crataegus oxyacantha) – Don’t be cruel to yourself just because things are slow right now. Use this time to give yourself an opportunity to learn how to do even better to further things along. It’s okay to feel frustrated with the lag in the business, just don’t take it out on yourself.

Waning – Mountain and Tree – You need to start taking better care of your physical health so that health and mobility issues are less of an issue for you. This involves not just making sure you are eating more healthy, but also ensuring you aren’t cutting your PT short but doing the full routine.

Waxing – Lady and Coffin – Pay attention to changes that might be indicating that you’re moving back deeper into the pit of depression.   You have a chance to change the potential backsliding, but it’s going to require self awareness.

Take Away – This week is all about working on clearing the lip of the depression’s pit, and what’s needed to make sure that even should I not clear the lip, no backsliding happens.

Momentum

IMG_E1152Today’s meditation was just under ten minutes long, and was one of the Daily Calm sessions from the Calm app. The topic of today’s meditation was about vulnerability, and how when we share our vulnerability with others instead of trying to hide it, doing so helps us in deepening our relationships with those people in our lives.

The meditation encouraged being more honest with our feelings when communicating with others, even in simple ways such as speaking of how we are truly doing when someone asks how we are, instead of just brushing off the question with an offhand “I’m fine” or “I’m good”.

Numinous Tarot - Dreamer of Candles - Page of WandsToday’s draw is the Dreamer of Candles (Page of Wands), which is traditionally a representation of a receptive omega energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s drive, willpower, passions, enthusiasm, motivation, and inspiration. This theme often translates into starting out on a new passion project, apprenticeship in snares one is enthusiastic about, or (re)exploring something that inspires us.

You are always willing to start new things and you constantly have many projects on the go.  Use that enthusiasm that lights up your space to draw in others. Although you are absolutely a self-starter, projects go faster when you have extra hands and hearts to help bring them to the finish line.

Questions for June 4th thru 6th

Merry Day Tarot and Les SemuesesHow does the end of Mercury Rx tie in with my June magic?

Four of Swords and l’Interdépendante – The end of Mercury Rx will help you to see how work and rest are not independent concepts, but rather they are dependent upon each other for either to be of quality.

What does Saturn want to teach me during Saturn Rx?

Three of Cups and La Gérante – Saturn Rx would liek to teach you that together time with others usually requires someone to take charge in some way, and usually that’s you. This is what makes everything (and everyone) work so well together, so don’t be shy about enjoying it. The others enjoy it too.

How, or where, should I begin to spark my magic?

Three of Wands atop Unicorn (Page of Wands), Le Souffle de l’Évitement – Do it now. Don’t shy away from it. There is no need to avoid or wait. Instead open yourself up and move forward into it now.

Questions for June 4th

Numinous TarotI can be more flexible with…

…when I bear down into single minded focus (Eight of Bells / Swords) on my work (Eight of Tomes / Pentacles).

So that I…

…will have more time for myself (The Hermit), for rest and recovery (Four of Bells / Swords), and for my spiritual practice (The Diviner / High Priestess).

Take Away: Too often I get caught up in the business and my work to the point where everything else fades away, the world and (seemingly) time itself disappearing. Although this allows me a great deal of focus to get things done, it also means that I am ignoring my own needs and the other aspects of my life that need attention while I pour my focus into this one thing. For a more balanced life, it would be better to be more flexible with when I go into this hyper-vigilant work mindset, and how long I stay there, so that I can have it more self-nurturing and well rounded life as a whole.
